Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1410: Chapter 1411: Let Your Mom Go Back Too

During the New Year, it’s all about eating and sleeping, living a life of bliss like a rice worm. On the eighth day of the lunar month, it’s the start of work, and the fast food shop at the train station also opens. Cheng Su went to give out starting work red packets. Since it’s the day of reopening, the Joy Soon Loy Restaurant that had been open all along was naturally no exception, and a large batch of red packets were also handed out there.

As for the factory, the official opening day was the twelfth day of the year, so there’s no rush.

But Father Qi was thinking about returning to the hometown, after all, the New Year’s celebration was over, and there were crops on the land at home that shouldn’t be left unattended.

”Dad, it’s just the eighth day of the lunar month, stay for a few more days, return after the Lantern Festival.” Cheng Su advised.

Qi Taiguo also said, ”Yeah, staying a few more days wouldn’t hurt.”

”No way, how can the home be left for so long? It’s time to go back.” Father Qi insisted.

Unable to persuade him, they had to let him go back. Cheng Su prepared some local specialties for them to bring home, and of course, also prepared a share for her own family.

”Since Dad is going back, why not let your mom go back with him? The old home can’t be left unattended for so long.” Cheng Su whispered to Qi Taiguo, ”When I’m about to give birth, we can let her come back and take care of me!”

Qi Taiguo frowned and said, ”She’s taking care of you now, isn’t that good? You just need to be served with meals.”

Cheng Su pouted: ”But I don’t want to hear unpleasant words, especially about having a son. I don’t want to hear it so much that I can’t help but snap back, which would be embarrassing for everyone.”

”Listen to me...” Qi Taiguo started to persuade, but Cheng Su gave him a particularly plaintive look, so he had to surrender: ”Alright, I’ll talk to her.”

”That’s why you are the best!” Cheng Su finally smiled and gave him a peck.

Qi Taiguo was full of bitterness, how to say this?

He could only muster his courage and go to Mother Qi and say, ”Mom, the house can’t just have Dad alone. Now Cheng Su’s pregnancy is stabilizing, and her appetite is returning. We discussed it, and would you return to the old home with Dad this time? When it’s about time for childbirth, you can come back to help out!”

Mother Qi was stunned.

Soon, her face turned sullen, she said, ”Fine, I’ll return. I don’t need you to rush me, I’ll pack up and return right now!”

This was when Mother Qi thought that Qi Taiguo and Cheng Su wanted to drive her away.

It was likely not Qi Taiguo, but her ’good’ daughter-in-law. Good grief, she wholeheartedly came to serve her, only to be disliked. She wouldn’t come anymore, even if asked.

Qi Taiguo hurriedly grabbed her, persuading: ”It’s not about driving you away, it’s just that Dad can’t be left alone at home. Now Cheng Su can still move around freely...”

”You needn’t say more, I know. Your wife has long disliked me, thinks this old bag of bones is useless. I’ll leave now.” Mother Qi was deeply upset.

”Mom, we haven’t disliked you, it’s just that Dad is alone at home, and the wheat needs to be harvested too. In a few days, Jianguo will be returning to school, leaving Dad alone is impossible. You can stay, of course.” Qi Taiguo said.

Mother Qi refused to listen but wiped her tears.

She was truly heartbroken, never having thought one day her son would drive her away. How could that be?

”Alright, alright, the son is thinking for us. Now that the daughter-in-law doesn’t need you to help, it’s good to return home. The wheat needs harvesting, and the house needs looking after. Xiao Bao also needs care, right?” Father Qi pulled Mother Qi gently.

”It sounds good, it’s just dislike...” Mother Qi sniffed.

Qi Taiguo had to do his utmost to appease her before she calmed down.
