Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1150: Chapter 1151: With Me as Your Shield

Cheng Su was at home feeling sulky, she never imagined that borrowing money from the bank would lead to such a scolding.

What? Bringing disaster to their whole Qi family, ha, it’s really such a huge accusation.

What made her angrier was the claim that borrowing money meant she had to divorce Qi Taiguo, it was simply... what nonsense.

After the initial anger, Cheng Su started thinking, she’d just begun the process of borrowing money, hadn’t told anyone, so who mentioned it to her mother-in-law?

Was it Qi Taiguo? She had just told Qi Taiguo after all.

Cheng Su was a bit uncertain, there was no reason for Qi Taiguo to casually mention it, right?

Then who else could it be, Elder Sister? But she didn’t know that she was going to borrow money!

As she was wildly speculating, the door lock rattled, Qi Taiguo came in, and saw her hugging a pillow sulking, he asked, ”What’s wrong?” His eyes shifted, then he saw the phone off the hook, and asked, ”Why isn’t the phone back on the cradle?”

He walked over and hung up the phone.

”Your mom knows about me borrowing money from the bank!” Cheng Su said.

Qi Taiguo let out a sound, looked at her, ”Ah? How did mom know?”

Was it not him who said?

”You didn’t say anything?” Cheng Su said, ”She just called and scolded me, saying I’m bringing disaster to the Qi family, harming future generations, and even said...”

Qi Taiguo’s brows knitted into a frown, intuition told him the next words wouldn’t be pleasant, he asked carefully, ”What else did she say?”

”She also said if I insist on borrowing this money, I should divorce you.” Cheng Su said.

”That’s nonsense!” Qi Taiguo immediately snapped.

Cheng Su looked at him with a half-smile.

”Did she really say that?” Seeing her expression, Qi Taiguo felt inexplicably guilty, said, ”Mom doesn’t know the reason behind it, let me explain to her. We’re using it to buy land, it would only be beneficial, who would complain about having less land?”

”Do you believe, even if you said it was to buy gold, in her eyes, only money is valuable.” Cheng Su said.

Qi Taiguo grabbed the phone and put it down again, said, ”Then what do you think we should do!”

”We’re not doing anything, anyway, I must borrow this money, and as for having to get divorced first to borrow, well...” She gave Qi Taiguo a sidelong glance, said, ”It depends on whether you also think I’m bringing disaster to the Qi family!”

”Aren’t you talking nonsense?” Qi Taiguo hugged her, said, ”Others don’t know, but don’t I know you? We both know the future development, I’m not stupid enough to say you can’t repay the money!”

”Then what about your mom...”

”We borrow here, how could she know? To be honest, whether we borrow or not, if we don’t say anything, who will know?” Qi Taiguo said, ”When they find out, the money would already have been borrowed, what could happen then?”

”I get scolded like a dog even before borrowing, imagine if they knew, they’d probably kick me out of the Qi family!” Cheng Su pouted.

”Don’t worry, with your husband here as a shield, if anyone wants to kick you out, they’ll have to kick me out first, how about that!” Qi Taiguo soothed her.

”That’s about right!” Cheng Su leaned into his embrace, said again, ”Hey, who do you think told her that I planned to borrow money? I only told you.”

Qi Taiguo saw her suspicious gaze, said, ”It wasn’t me!”

Cheng Su was just about to speak when the phone rang again, she said, ”You answer it! I don’t want to get angry again!”

Qi Taiguo had no choice but to pick up the phone, but it wasn’t Mother Qi calling, it was Qi Fenglian, asking if he knew about Cheng Su borrowing money from the bank.
