Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1148: Chapter 1149: Bold as Brass

With the fury of a storm, Mother Qi stormed into the Cheng family home. The place was filled with laughter and joy; Cheng Su’s parents were busy slaughtering chickens in the yard, and her brother Cheng Zhi, along with two other cousins, were laughing and joking loudly.

Seeing the scene, Mother Qi was even more infuriated, thinking: Your daughter is about to ruin our Qi family, yet you’re all laughing happily.

With sharp eyes, Cheng Zhi saw Mother Qi and shouted, ”Mom, sister’s mother-in-law is here.”

Mother Cheng turned her head, saw Mother Qi and exclaimed, wiping her wet hands on her apron, ”Oh, in-law mother is here, come on in.”

Mother Qi stepped into the yard, ignoring Father Cheng’s welcoming smile, with her hands on her hips and a dark face, she snorted heavily.

Father Cheng frowned slightly at this, wondering what had happened now.

Mother Cheng noticed too and asked cautiously, ”In-law mother, what’s the matter?”

”What’s the matter? In-laws, you’ve raised quite a daughter, taught her well. She’s got such big ideas!” Mother Qi’s words came out like firecrackers, popping explosively, ”She’s been married into the Qi family for three years, hasn’t even laid an egg, but I didn’t mind, she’s got strong ideas, and I can’t argue with her. I’m an old woman with only a few years left to live, I can wait for a grandson!”

Mother Cheng and Father Cheng exchanged a glance.

”But she absolutely shouldn’t drag the entire Qi family into hell. We’ve done nothing wrong to her, right? Why is she so bent on ruining our family? What good does it do her if our family collapses?” Mother Qi vented all her anger at their daughter not answering her phone onto Cheng Su’s parents.

”In-law, don’t be hasty, let’s talk this over. If Cheng Su has done something wrong, I’ll definitely teach her a lesson later. But what do you mean by causing harm, what’s going on?” Father Cheng asked, bewildered.

”What’s going on? Cheng Su has lost her mind, wants to borrow money from the bank, do you know how much? Not just thousands but tens of thousands.” Mother Qi screamed, ”Tell me, is she crazy, borrowing that much money? Does she want to ruin the Qi family for generations, destroy our family?”

What, Cheng Su wants to borrow tens of thousands from the bank?

Father Cheng and Mother Cheng’s expressions changed; that’s an astronomical sum, what does she want with so much money, and if she can’t return it, then...

”In-law mother, don’t be anxious, I’ll ask Cheng Su what’s going on!” Father Cheng immediately instructed, ”Cheng Zhi, call your sister, see what’s the matter? Why borrow so much money?”

”Okay!” Cheng Zhi ran into the house.

Mother Cheng had Mother Qi sit on a small stool, soothing her with kind words.

Mother Qi calmed down a bit, and said, ”I’m not just criticizing her, but how can a woman have such big ambitions—tell me, borrowing so much money, how will they repay it? Won’t the children be crushed by debt their whole lives? Her ideas are too big, if she dares to do it, our Qi family wouldn’t dare keep such a daughter-in-law.”

Mother Cheng’s face turned several shades; it didn’t look good, wondering if it was really that serious.

Father Cheng’s expression wasn’t good either, realizing that borrowing such a large amount was frightening, what was she borrowing it for? Could it be that they ran into trouble with their business dealings?

Cheng Zhi ran out from the house and said, ”Dad, I can’t get through to sister’s home phone.”

Hearing this, Mother Qi started shouting again, ”See, see, I knew you couldn’t get through, she’s got the nerve of a bear and the heart of a leopard, intending to doom our Qi family!”
