Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1146: Chapter 1147: Are You Trying to Ruin the Qi Family?

Having resolved Ying Xiaoya’s emotional issues, Cheng Su instructed her to prepare the materials she needed, saying, ”Once you’re busy, you won’t have time to dwell on things.”

Ying Xiaoya rolled her eyes at her and just buried herself in work.

Cheng Su stayed for a while before leaving. During that time, Xiao Pinshan talked to her about work, but he seemed a bit uneasy, probably guessing that Xiaoya had told her about their situation, hence he felt awkward.

Cheng Su had no intention of blaming him, nor did she plan to teach him what to do. Privately, in her eyes, she naturally sided with Xiaoya, hoping Xiaoya could make a better choice.

So, she wouldn’t instruct him on what to do.

But seeing his unease, to avoid affecting work, Cheng Su still said, ”I don’t care who you are or who you’re dating. What I care about is your work ability. I only need you to give me satisfactory results. As for other matters, I don’t care and I don’t plan to. Work, if you can complete it, that’s fine. If not, I’ll find someone else, got it?”

Xiao Pinshan nodded in a daze, ”I will keep work and personal matters separate!”

”Good!” Cheng Su said a curt ”Good” and left.

After walking a couple of steps, she couldn’t help but turn back and said, ”Xiaoya is a good girl. I don’t want her to be let down. I hope you both consider if you’re truly suited for each other. If not, then I think you should seriously consider what’s best for her, and how she can be happy! Isn’t this the basic thing about loving someone, considering what’s best for them?”

Xiao Pinshan’s expression changed slightly, and after a long while, he said, ”I will.”

Cheng Su patted his arm and nodded slightly.

Xiao Pinshan stood there, lips pursed for a long time, lost in thought.

Cheng Su returned home, deciding to give the Cheng family a call to maintain the relationship for future convenience.

But before her hand could reach the phone, it rang first.

As she picked up, just after she said hello, her mother-in-law’s yelling came through, the decibels almost hurting her eardrums.

”Mother-in-law, Taiguo isn’t back yet. When he returns, I’ll have him call you back!” Cheng Su moved the phone away from her ear.

”I’m not looking for Taiguo, I’m looking for you.” Mother Qi’s voice was sharp.

Cheng Su frowned slightly, looking for her, what for?

”What’s the matter?”

”I’m asking you, are you planning to borrow money from the bank?” Mother Qi asked loudly.

Cheng Su was taken aback. How did she know? Did Qi Taiguo tell her?

”Answer me, are you going to borrow money from the bank?”

Cheng Su didn’t answer but asked back, ”Mother-in-law, how did you know?”

”So it’s true, you’re really going to borrow money from the bank?”

A shocked voice traveled through the phone, and Cheng Su could almost imagine the thunderstruck look on her mother-in-law’s face.

”I need the loan for something...”

”Shut up!” Cheng Su’s explanation was barely a sentence before Mother Qi’s curses interrupted her, ”Are you crazy, woman? Instead of asking friends, you’re borrowing from a bank? Are you trying to ruin our Qi family? Huh, ruin our Qi family, what good does that do you? You crazy woman, you brainless fool, have you gone mad thinking about money?”

Hearing this barrage of curses, Cheng Su almost threw the phone in anger, coldly asking, ”Mother-in-law, please stop spouting nonsense! What does my borrowing money have to do with the Qi family? How am I trying to ruin the Qi family?”

It’s ridiculous, her borrowing money, what does it have to do with the Qi family, for her to say such things!
