Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Mafeisan, Seeking the Insect King

As soon as Han Min spoke those words, the principal and numerous commanders who were initially focusing on other students all turned their eyes toward Shen Fei.

But Shen Fei had practically been staying still in the cave all day, so there wasn’t much to observe.

Now that an unexpected situation has occurred, they also wanted to see how he would handle it.

”This Shen Fei is too overconfident, he should be aware that he only has two Summoned Beasts with him right now!”

”And the other Summoned Beast seems somewhat like a Support type, relatively weaker compared to his other Summoned Beasts.”

”Shen Fei isn’t going to flop here, is he?”

”Even if he flops, based on current point calculations and the growth of the Abyssal Tree Seed, he’s already first. The others are unlikely to surpass him.”

”That’s true, but it would be a pity if he lost just like that.”

...

The crowd discussed, and most opinions held that Shen Fei sending out his two strongest Summoned Beasts was an aggressive and mistaken decision.

Now with the Abyssal Insect Race counterattacking, his other two Summoned Beasts would need time to return.

But Meng Zhengguo just looked at the light screen, ”That kid, if he indeed pulls it off... but the first layer won’t be much of an issue.”

He wasn’t at all worried that Shen Fei wouldn’t have anticipated this.

If Shen Fei wanted to secure first place easily, he just needed to wander around the first layer with his Summoned Beasts for three days.

Yet Shen Fei’s actions clearly indicated he planned to do something major while maintaining his first place.

Like in the earlier phases of Shen Fei’s examination where he researched live Abyssal Creatures with his Summoned Beasts.

Combined with the information Shen Fei once searched for on the Breaking Abyss Army’s internal network.

This Summoned Beast should be a variant of the ’Bird-beaked Plague Doctor’ type Summoned Beast.

No matter how a Summoned Beast is cultivated by the Summoner, its basic capabilities wouldn’t change much.

And the Bird-beaked Plague Doctor excels in large-scale plague skills.

Summing it up.

Shen Fei plans to, within these three days, let his Summoned Beast research a plague aiming at the insect-type Abyssal Creatures on the first layer of the Abyss of Ten Thousand Insects...

Meng Zhengguo has tasted more salt than Shen Fei has eaten rice.

Shen Fei’s actions are not really concealed, Meng Zhengguo quickly figured out what Shen Fei was up to.

If really successful, even if not spreading across the entire first layer of the Abyss of Ten Thousand Insects, just a part of it would be terrifying enough...

”Let’s keep watching. Shen Fei is unlikely to fail under such conditions,” Han Min said calmly.

”Really?” Chen Hansheng frowned.

Some principals still maintained a skeptical attitude.

Hua Tao looked at Han Min, ”There are a lot of Tier Four Abyssal Insect Race creatures rebelling here, are you sure he can withstand it?”

”He should manage.”

Han Min’s tone carried a trace of uncertainty; there’s still some gap between Tier Four and Tier Three.

If Shen Fei’s other two Summoned Beasts were around, they’d slaughter however many came.

But now.

”Shen Fei took action, hmm... why did all those insect races collapse, yet didn’t die?”

Suddenly, the principal of Chang’an University, Ye Fengbai’s tone was full of astonishment.

The rest widened their eyes, a horde of ferocious insect races had appeared on the light screen, but as they approached Shen Fei’s cave, they seemed to be hit by anesthetic, like rice plants swaying in the wind.

’Boom boom boom~’

In the light screen, all the charging insect races fell to the ground, and the originally extremely noisy insect chirping fell silent in an instant.

”This... what happened.”

The principal of Coastal University, Wang Bi’an swallowed hard.

...

In the Abyss.

Shen Fei naturally heard the sharp insect chirping completely disappear, and at the same time, the Calamity Plague Doctor who was continuously experimenting spoke, ”Sister Xian, help me bring in those insect races.”

”Okay.”

A voice from the Void, belonging to Stabbing Immortal, came, while Shen Fei watched hordes of insect races being brought in, shaking his head, ”This cave isn’t big enough.”

Who would have thought.

Near Tier Four Abyssal Insect Race creatures under the Mafeisan of the Calamity Plague Doctor.

Couldn’t resist at all.

Moreover, the second Medicine God Dharma Aspect of the Calamity Plague Doctor — ’Li Shizhen’

Allowed his research into this type of medicine to reach a higher level. Previously Mafeisan could only surpass Tier Three, but now it could surpass Tier Five.

It can only be said that the boost from the Legendary Term is truly outrageous.

”The research is almost done, I’ve already deciphered the pheromones of these insect races, but the crucial effect the Master wants is unlikely to be achieved.

Because the most critical element is missing.”

”Not possible?”

”Insect species are different from those corpses before, their colony structure, pheromone is a channel for transmitting information.

If they discover a crisis in themselves capable of annihilating their entire race, they will immediately self-destruct.

If the Master wants to achieve the effect of the Insect-Annihilating Plague, you must kill the Insect King, and destroy the switch!”

”Insect King?”

Shen Fei frowned, if that’s the case, then the Insect King must be outside the examination scope, outside the examination range scores are calculated.

But the opportunity for voluntary abandonment would be lost.

Yet thinking about it, having the possibility of wiping out all the insect races on the first layer of the Abyss of Ten Thousand Insects.

”Can you locate its position?”

”I’ve already embedded into the pheromones of the first layer of the Abyss of Ten Thousand Insects, ready to locate any insect creature’s position at any time.”

”Great! Then let’s take action!”

Shen Fei nodded, frankly if it were the Abyss Edge, he might not be so aggressive, but this is the Abyss.

No matter what Abyss it is, it’s his enemy!!

This is indeed a golden opportunity.

”These insect races are all paralyzed, unable to self-destruct, let me try out what I’ve just researched.”

The Calamity Plague Doctor suddenly conjured a cloud of mist, which enveloped the first Abyssal insect race.

The body which was still twitching occasionally began to degenerate.

Soon, this dead Abyssal insect race abruptly spurted out a mist, enveloping the other unconscious insect races on the ground.

Shen Fei’s panel was instantly flooded with messages.

[You killed a level 32 Abyssal Creature ’Black Beetle’, experience +6%...]

[Your level has increased to: 24!]

[Your Talent Activation is successful, would you like to draw a term?]

[You killed a level 39 Abyssal Creature ’Black Beetle’, experience +9%]

[...]

The insect races in the Abyss of Ten Thousand Insects provided less experience compared to the Abyssal Creatures Shen Fei encountered before.

Not much.

But it was satisfying, because their individual strength was relatively weak, and the exam had options for locations in its third stage.

Coincidentally, Shen Fei’s level had also increased to level 24, and he wasn’t in a rush to draw a term.

If his plan succeeded this time, he should be able to directly leap to level 30.

Drawing a term all at once at that point.

”It succeeded.”

The Calamity Plague Doctor nodded, he only spread the plague in the first insect race.

But the other insect races also caught the plague one by one, indicating that the plague was indeed successful.

”Until we find the Insect King, don’t spread the plague yet, to avoid alerting him.”

”Understood.”
