Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Beginning to Give Up, Shen Fei Is Still Eating Noodles!

All the students have already entered the Abyss, while Meng Zhengguo and others have returned to the frontier, with screens in front of them, displaying all the students wearing wristwatches.

The wristwatches are not only for signaling for help but also for special positioning.

The commanders of the five major military districts, along with Meng Zhengguo, sat at the front, followed closely by numerous university presidents who arrived promptly.

After all, once these students finish their college entrance exams, they will naturally choose schools. Although various universities indeed set cut-off scores, students also have the freedom to choose their schools.

These university presidents naturally want to see where their future students will come from.

To see which students they might target after the exams are over.

Each school, due to its unique location and faculty, caters to different types of professionals, setting Imperial University apart as a nearly all-encompassing academy.

Like Coastal University, due to its unique environment and the Abyss and dungeons it faces, it’s best suited for professionals skilled in combat near water.

Meanwhile, Chang’an University faces significant pressure from the Abyss, with many battlegrounds to contend with, thereby managing students with near-military precision.

Therefore, while they may lower some eligibility standards, students need to demonstrate significant combat talent and personal resolve within their consideration range.

”Shen Fei, this kid, after he sent his summoned beast out yesterday, found a dry spot and hasn’t moved again since?”

Han Min glanced at the edge where Shen Fei sat in a cave eating noodles.

Yesterday, Shen Fei’s summoned beast went out to hunt monsters.

He thought Shen Fei was moving around looking for monsters to keep hunting.

But found that he just located a well-sheltered cave.

Then started resting and eating noodles.

A whole day passed; apart from the occasional Insect Race-like things capturing live Abyssal creatures for another of his summoned beasts to research in a brutally cruel way.

There were no other actions.

So the screen was moved aside to let other principals observe other outstanding students.

”No matter what, he’s still first. His hidden summoned beast is indeed quite unique, forming similar summoned beast-like creatures after killing.”

The Central China Military Region’s commander and the bespectacled mature woman Mu Qing, arms crossed, her figure accentuated, said in a calm voice.

She glanced at the refined man beside her, ”Hua Tao, if you want to look, just look openly, I’m not stopping you. Hmph!”

Hua Tao awkwardly touched his nose, ”I wasn’t looking, I was just listening to Han Min talk.”

”You sneaky eyes, if you looked then just admit it. Speaking off-topic, why aren’t you two together already? It’s been years, can’t you get past that hurdle? Sister Qing has been single for so long...”

”Hey. I said stop. I just promised my senior to take care of Sister Qing, don’t slander me...”

”Climb! You weren’t saying that back then; now you put on your pants and don’t recognize me, you coward.” Sister Qing glanced at Hua Tao and coldly laughed.

Her gaze then fell on Han Min, and she raised her eyebrows, ”How about you join me?”

”I still aspire to be Commander, the old man’s position is waiting for me.”

Han Min shook his head.

Meng Zhengguo, seeing the three of them talking, glared at Han Min, as he never hides his ’ambition.’

”Stop talking personal matters. There’s no need to worry about Shen Fei, but I am curious about what he’s been up to these past few days.”

Meng Zhengguo’s gaze also fell on Shen Fei.

At least during this time, according to his understanding of Shen Fei, given the killing speed of his summoned beast,

the first place is already a sure thing.

But given Shen Fei’s personality, he would definitely use every means to maximize his points, hence his curiosity about Shen Fei’s intentions.

Meng Zhengguo’s eyes focused on the Calamity Plague Doctor manipulating the Abyssal Insect Race, recalling his own collected information. Could it be this guy quietly plans to do something big?

The Abyss is so vast and protected by Abyssal Protection, it won’t be easy to make a mark...

West China Governor, Ye Xiu, leaned against his chair, staring seriously at each screen.

He wasn’t as invested in Shen Fei’s discussion since in the five major military regions, his district has the most Abyss and Abyss Edge, facing the greatest pressure.

He needed to select some battle-ready promising candidates.

”This Wuu Yuan is quite good.”

Ye Xiu glanced at Wuu Yuan’s profile and a brief overview of her profession.

”Old Man Ye.”

”Use proper titles when outside!” A person among the university presidents in the back, who resembled Ye Xiu, shouted angrily.

These top university presidents, though potentially not as authoritative as commanders, are not inferior in status.

”Leaf Plants, this Wuu Yuan is quite good, her profession suits the battlefield, so take her to Chang’an when necessary.”

”Only you could spot that?”

”Just a reminder.” Ye Xiu glanced at the other university presidents; those who were originally planning to compete instantly changed their minds.

”Each follows their means. Where Wuu Yuan goes is up to her to choose, what’s your deal here?”

Meng Zhengguo said calmly, dispelling Ye Xiu’s little thought.

”Imperial University is indeed the premier academy, but that doesn’t mean all the excellent students must attend Imperial Capital Academy. Different institutions have different strengths.

You need to go back to carefully consider, produce the most suitable training plans for them, and invest some effort in explaining the pros and cons to them...”

Meng Zhengguo’s words made numerous university presidents nod.

”Starting this year, focus on training in smaller teams and specialization, special training in extraordinary times, accentuating strengths and avoiding weaknesses, like Wuu Yuan is a perfect example.

If she’s provided with the right team, her unleashed strength would surpass Tang Yann from the South China Military Region...”

Meng Zhengguo hesitated for a moment, ”Hmm, Shen Fei is a special case.”

”The first dropout has appeared.”

During everyone’s chat, one screen dimmed, leaving the last scene of the candidate crushing their wristwatch.

”It’s finally begun.” Han Min exhaled, as that candidate had begun to fall into a siege of Insect Race Abyssal Creatures earlier.

Abyssal creatures, unlike the monsters appearing in dungeons, don’t have aggro lines, some high-tier Abyssal creatures possess intelligence no weaker than humans.

At the start yesterday, not many Abyssal creatures were killed, and many Abyssal creatures hadn’t reacted, but now Abyssal Insect Race started hunting candidates proactively.

This is the first lesson.

Never consider Abyssal creatures as merely animals to be hunted at will; they are enemies, and they also have the intention and desire to attack actively.

”Hmm? Shen Fei has been found too; although it was his summoned beast who acted, he’s hunted so much Abyssal Insect Race, absorbing the scent of the hunt.

The Insect Race tracking him right now should be the biggest batch of Insect Race!”

At this time, North China Military Region Commander Chen Hansheng, responsible for monitoring nearby Abyssal creature movements, frowned and said.

”What is Shen Fei doing now? He should be aware.”

Han Min shrugged helplessly.

”Shen Fei’s still eating noodles!”
