Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Chapter 58: Chapter 58: The Weak Follow Rules, the Strong Make Them

Shen Fei opened his eyes and carefully observed the surroundings.

The cold wind was piercing, and though his body was somewhat shielded, the wind on his face felt like tiny blades.

This world was painted in dark tones, with no sun in the sky, yet there was enough light.

There was no moon here, but a vast galaxy of stars, densely spread and hanging in the sky, magnificent, brilliant, and filled with a dreamlike aura.

At the horizon of the sky, multicolored, dazzling lights flickered, reminding Shen Fei of the so-called aurora phenomenon.

In this slightly dim world, apart from the dark-toned dazzling sky, there was the vast expanse of snowy white.

The cold wind howled, and the snowstorm was intense.

[Instance—Snowfield]

[Level: Special Instance]

[Restrictions: None]

[Clear Record: None]

”Little Ji!”

Beside Shen Fei appeared two figures, Empress and Vast Heaven Venerable. With a wave of her hand, Empress encircled Su Muyu and the other two with flames, preventing the wind and snow from reaching them.

”Captain, what’s the next plan?”

Lin Yang felt the warmth spreading throughout his body, realizing that following the captain was truly like a holiday.

”There’s no plan.”

Indeed, Shen Fei had no plan. He looked at Empress and said, ”Little Ji, act freely, eliminate any monsters you find, and capture anyone from the schools for me.

Little Cang and I will come to find you then.”

”Alright!”

Empress nodded, took a step forward, and vanished before them, leaving behind a residual warmth that kept them from the cold.

”Little Cang!”

”Roar!”

Vast Heaven Venerable instantly unlocked its full form, and the giant reappeared. Scalding heat waves spread out in all directions, blocking out all the wind and snow, even melting the ground snow to reveal patches of black soil beneath.

”Let’s go, just consider it as enjoying the snowy scenery.”

Shen Fei stretched lazily; with Empress’s speed, finding them would be quick.

...

In the monitoring room.

The principals from various schools sat in the conference room, watching the broadcast equipment placed inside this special instance in advance, as well as a monitoring sand table, to ascertain the members’ locations and lock onto them ahead of time.

”Old Fang, this time Shencheng First High School has really made a big splash.”

Wang Yi looked at Fang Yuan, who had been grinning ever since everyone entered the instance, his mouth full of lemons.

”This time, many schools are besieging Shencheng First High School, but it’s still uncertain if they’ll take first place...”

The principal of Yan City First High School, Wuu Zhongtian, who was also Wuu Yuan’s grandfather, spoke in a cold tone.

Fang Yuan glanced over, hinting, ”I’m not sure who has the only profession, yet still resorts to such dirty tricks... tsk tsk tsk, what a decline in morals, yet they still haven’t won!”

The principal of Qinghe First High School, Shen Congbing, raised an eyebrow, ”Leaving aside Shen Fei, your school’s Su Muyu is not simple! So young, yet her grasp of combat is like those seasoned soldiers who’ve been on the battlefield for years!”

”Well, I’ve heard some deep...”

”Shen Congbing, some words can be swallowed but not spoken! Su Muyu is the disciple of the Demon Slayer Venerable, so think twice before slandering.” Fang Yuan’s words made Shen Congbing swallow and chuckle, ”I was just blabbering.”

”Ah, so she’s a student of the Demon Slayer Venerable, that makes sense.”

Other principals raised their eyebrows, knowing that someone regarded as a Venerable must be Tier Seven, and they also knew the Demon Slayer Venerable for being a professional who slaughtered countless Abyssal Creatures.

If Su Muyu really had issues, how could she have been taken as a student by them?

”And your Shen Fei...”

Wuu Zhongtian spoke calmly.

”Why is it that now Principal Wuu is using the presumption of guilt rhetoric?” At that moment, someone pushed the door open, and the medals on their chest clanged as they walked.

Standing tall and in attire familiar to everyone present, it was the Breaking Abyss Army.

Seeing the rank on his shoulder, all the school principals stood up.

”Commander!”

”Relax, sit down.” The middle-aged man who came in unceremoniously sat in the most central position, seemingly reserved for him.

”Principal Wuu, you haven’t answered me. Why are you now using the presumption of guilt rhetoric?”

Han Min spoke lightly, applying an inexplicable pressure on Wuu Zhongtian, making him swallow.

Some things can be joked about privately.

But once it gets serious, the consequences can be heavy.

”It seems Principal Wuu is a bit confused lately, thinking a school principal would be someone discerning truth from falsehood.” Han Min looked at Shen Fei, who seemed to be on an outing, with Lin Yang by his side offering snacks as if he were a lackey.

”This kid~”

Wuu Zhongtian, hearing the tone of Han Min, knew that he had a good opinion of Shen Fei and could only softly say, ”It was my mistake, speaking thoughtlessly.”

”Yes, I’ve already said not to stand, sit. Today, I’m just here to see our Breaking Abyss Army’s genius.”

Upon Han Min’s permission, everyone sat down.

Upon receiving the commendation report from Liu Wentao, Shen Fei had already caught Han Min’s eye.

Moreover, Shen Fei himself was a second-generation of the Breaking Abyss Army, with a clean background.

Even if closely associated with the Su Family, Su Juncheng was formerly with the Breaking Abyss Army.

Clearly, he belonged to their army faction.

And watching the exchange match’s footage, Han Min’s discerning eyes saw much more than Fang Yuan and the others. Shen Fei’s summoned beast could indeed reach Tier Four combat power.

This was equivalent to the reverse prodigies cultivated by various aristocratic families and major forces in the Imperial Capital.

So today, during the team competition, he intended to see it himself and possibly chat with Shen Fei afterward.

He had just arrived and heard someone trying to tarnish Shen Fei.

”Shen Fei has joined our Breaking Abyss Army. Also, he’s a recipient of our Silver Medal, with the rank of Chiliarch, so watch your words.”

Han Min’s voice held a hint of sternness. At eighteen, Shen Fei was a treasure in his region.

An eighteen-year-old Chiliarch with Tier Four combat power was a treasure anywhere.

”Hmm?”

Han Min suddenly raised an eyebrow, seeing a massive object floating in the live broadcast, ”This woman, is she also one of Shen Fei’s summoned beasts?”

”Why doesn’t she eliminate people but keeps them?”

Han Min looked at Fang Yuan.

Fang Yuan swallowed, suddenly recalling what Shen Fei said on the hovercar, ”Well... Eh, Shen Fei once asked me on the hovercar whether it would count as everyone being in second place if he eliminated them all together...”

”Matching points shouldn’t allow that.”

Han Min found the idea interesting, indicating Shen Fei didn’t really seek victory in this team competition.

Instead, he seemed to want to manipulate the match.

”I also answered him at the time, and then he said this way, he could decide the second and third places.”

”Huh?”

The principals exchanged glances; this is an exchange competition meant to be fair, just, and open.

It wasn’t for him to decide.

However, Han Min chuckled. He already understood Shen Fei’s intention, ”This kid is interesting! The weak follow rules; the strong make rules.

Not a bad idea.”
