Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Some Score 98 Because That’s Their Limit, Others Get 100 Because That’s the Only Option

[Now announcing the results, 2881 people have scored below 60, eliminated in the first stage!]

[Detailed results are as follows]

At this moment, a special light screen appeared in front of each candidate, not just in front of them, but also outside the Light Tower and on the live television broadcast, massive screens appeared.

[First Stage]

[1: South China Area Shencheng First High School: Shen Fei, Score: 100]

[2: Central China District Imperial City Affiliated High School: Fang Ruxue, Score: 98]

[3: South China Area Shencheng First High School: Su Muyu, Score: 98]

...

[100: North China District Ninghai No.1 Middle School: Wang De, Score: 95]

Due to the large number of people, there were many with similar scores, so the ranking not only considered the damage rate but also included the intensity of instant attacks and the specific areas of damage.

This was the standard for classification.

At the top, Fang Yuan couldn’t help but laugh and said, ”I didn’t expect we at Shencheng First High School would have two in the top five during the first stage; not bad scores.”

Although he said it was not bad, his mouth was practically curving to the sky, as if standing shoulder to shoulder with the sun.

Many principals, upon seeing the rank list, couldn’t help but cast envious glances at Fang Yuan, wondering what kind of luck he had stumbled upon.

To have both Shen Fei and Su Muyu, a pair of extraordinary talents?

The key point was that this pair was indeed a dynamic duo, this situation really pushes others to the edge...

Especially, Shen Fei’s feat of smashing the Wood Puppet was quite outrageous.

With a damage rate of 60% already being a perfect score, it shows that even Fang Ruxue and Su Muyu achieved damage close to 60%.

That’s why they had nearly perfect scores.

But Shen Fei, within three seconds, directly blew up the Wood Puppet, achieving a damage rate of 100%.

Someone might score 98 because they can only reach 98.

But Shen Fei could only get 100 because the score’s upper limit was 100.

Logically speaking, scoring 100 is uncommon because causing a Tier Five Wood Puppet to have a damage rate of 60% in one minute is hard.

In other words, Shen Fei’s damage in three seconds could instantly kill a Tier Four.

At this time, some principals, the ones who usually disapproved, opened their mouths as if preparing to make some sarcastic remarks, but knowing Fang Yuan’s ’retaliatory’ nature, remained silent.

If they said something now and Fang Yuan decided to take Shen Fei for a visit to their city after the exams, what then?

Everyone already knew the miserable situation of Tang City.

If Tang City hadn’t paid to avert disaster, who knows what might have happened next.

Fang Yuan chuckled, ”Why not say it’s just the first stage results can’t determine much? I was looking forward to hitting back hard later.”

Upon hearing this, those who had opened their mouths earlier turned livid.

This old fellow really has a wicked sense of humor.

Having seen Shen Fei’s actual performance here, how could anyone even think of mocking him?

Clearly, Shen Fei’s power is in a league of its own compared to others.

...

Meanwhile, externally, the announced list stirred a storm, especially among those from the Imperial Capital, as they believed that their city’s prodigy would undoubtedly suppress all peers.

Now they are told.

Not only did someone score higher than Fang Ruxue, but there was also someone who tied with her?

”Holy crap, Fang Ruxue isn’t the top? Damn, I remember Fang Ruxue was using all possible means to kill Tier Four Abyssal Creatures.”

”Is there anyone better?”

”Who is this Shen Fei, then? Moreover, even though the assessment system changed this year, I remember the first stage still involved attacking the Wood Puppet, which was said to withstand Tier Five attacks.”

”It’s a bit outrageous, even putting that prodigy beneath him.”

”And that Su Muyu, I checked, this Su Muyu and Shen Fei are actually a couple.”

”Damn, isn’t that nice for them?”

...

After the ranking was released, discussions erupted.

Not only in the Imperial Capital but in other big cities as well. Naturally, each thought they had a student capable of becoming the top scorer, a belief they held with confidence.

But unexpectedly, Shen Fei surpasses them.

The name Shen Fei, from today onwards, has entered the radar of many universities nationwide, considering the first-stage ranking was nationwide.

And as everyone marvels, a countdown appears on the light screen.

During the rest stage, most candidates can use items to recover themselves, and there are special means to clear skill cooldowns, all of which are features of the Dragon Gate Tower.

After all, the test aims to assess candidates in their complete state, making it a small boon for those with high-damage professions but long cooldowns.

Of course, many are aware of this mechanism and prepare high-cooldown, high-damage skills suitable for them.

For those who aren’t prepared, it just shows there’s no absolute fairness in the world; in the era of Professional high exams, it’s essentially a screening for those with enough talent, resources, and capability.

The resources some individuals can mobilize are also a part of their abilities, as a Professional’s growth can’t be separated from resources.

[Please select your second stage dungeon difficulty within one minute]

[Normal difficulty score cap is 200, elite difficulty score cap is 400, hard difficulty score cap is 600, nightmare difficulty score cap is 800, hell difficulty score cap is 1000]

[Monster levels in the dungeon will increase with difficulty]

[Please consider the difficulty carefully, and don’t let momentary hesitation or recklessness prevent you from achieving your ideal score]

Shen Fei and the other candidates saw this light screen, finding it quite interesting; naturally, Shen Fei chose hell difficulty without a second thought.

This exam is quite interesting.

Since your final score also depends on your performance in the dungeon, even choosing a higher difficulty won’t guarantee a high score if your performance isn’t up to par compared to completing a lower difficulty.

It’s a matter of trade-offs.

However, for someone like Shen Fei aiming to be the top scorer, choosing hell difficulty is a given.

Not choosing hell difficulty essentially means giving up on competing for the top spot.

In front of Shen Fei was originally a vast plain, which now had revealed a huge cemetery, while in the distance countless graves stood like plants across the landscape.

The night was dim, and crows flapped their wings in the surrounding area.

”Didn’t expect it’s the acquaintances again! The score gap in this second stage is still quite large, Empress, Plague Doctor, you handle it.”

”Okay.”

Calamity Plague Doctor appeared beside Shen Fei, nodding.
