The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 690: A Beach Day for the Avatars Part 1

”So... today’s our day off, we Pandora avatars. So while our partners are asleep thanks to that lovely little drug we cooked up recently, we get a full day off from everything!” I say to all the avatars gathered here, the ones who’ve tucked their partners away in safe places to sleep.

”I know a trip to the beach might not sound all that exciting for some of you, but a day without sex, death, destruction, work, or problems to deal with sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?” I gesture for them to look to the side, where there are all sorts of beach things, food, and a grill, along with drinks, fruits, and meat for us to grill or eat raw, all fresh.

”Sounds great, even though I’d rather be banging Zephyra. She’s way too clingy, so one day without her hanging all over me is acceptable,” Pandora Z, the one with Zephyra, says with a grin. Since there are so many of us, it’s easier to call each other by the name followed by a letter that represents our function.

”Sounds wonderful, an experience we haven’t had before, and one that excites me,” Pandora G says while we all look at her with a certain ’pity’ because she has to be stuck with Grimm. The memories we received of what Grimm does to her are truly horrific.

”Hey, ’Pandora,’ what the hell is that thing floating next to you?” Pandora M, Mikael’s, asks me in a somewhat arrogant tone. Since I’m the only Pandora who doesn’t have a specific partner, they’re just calling me Pandora.

”Well, as you all must know, the real Pandora, who is obviously still us but cut off contact and left about five years ago... this little sphere of light here is Pandora,” I tell them.

”Hahaha, how cute. Are you serious?” Pandora D, who is much more seductive and has a more ’motherly’ vibe from being with Delphina, says with a deeply sarcastic tone.

”Yes, yes, I’m serious. This is the real Pandora. She decided to partially join us for beach day. Besides, the real Pandora has become omnipotent!!!” When I say this, murmurs spread among all the avatars as shock gives way to a certain ’fear’ of being replaced.

”[I won’t replace you. You’re doing a good job. I don’t plan to come back here to take your place,]” the Omnipotent Pandora says to all of us, which calms us down a little.

”So she turned omnipotent? Wow, that’s insane. Like, actual omnipotence?” Pandora M speaks as if glimpsing this situation were absurd.

”[Yes, truly omnipotent.... I see the avatar with Azraelith didn’t come. While I perfectly understand she’s in a training situation with Azraelith and couldn’t make it, it’s regrettable indeed,]” Omnipotent Pandora says in a somewhat distant way. It’s even a little strange.

”W-Well, I think we should all get started! We only have one day off!” I say to everyone, walking over to a chair and lying down on it to soak up the sun. The other Pandoras stand still for a moment as if unsure what to do, before heading off to do some ’fun’ things, like Pandora M going to the grill to make something to eat.

Pandora Z and Pandora D head to the beach net to compete in a volleyball game. Both seem pretty excited to prove who’s the best. Meanwhile, Pandora G, who was trained to be ”an extremely feminine woman,” ends up coming to sunbathe next to me.

”I-”

”No serving tea!” I say quickly to her, noticing the cup in her hand. I honestly do not want to drink that crap, I don’t care if it’s just Mana!!

”H-Hey!! I-I wasn’t going to serve that!! The cup is just for me to drink some of that!” She says, pointing to the table beside me with various drinks.

”Ah, right...” I pour the drink for her as the Omnipotent Pandora floats over to me. The small, illuminated sphere hovers above my stomach, and I feel strange knowing that ”I” am now omnipotent.

”Omnipotent Pandora, since you’re omnipotent, I have a few questions... may I ask?” Pandora G speaks politely. Grimm really changed her a lot.

”[The answer is yes. Grimm really does love us in a ’pure’ way, in her own twisted manner. I will send memories to all of you,]” Suddenly, I’m hit by a wave of Grimm’s memories, some without context, most showing Grimm talking to herself.

”WHAT THE SHIT?!” I scream, jumping out of the chair.

”THAT CRAZY BITCH PUT SEMEN IN MY VEINS?!!” I shout, disgusted.

”[More precisely in mine, not yours. You are avatars, so you didn’t suffer that. Besides, what really matters is that she loves all of us, isn’t it?]”

”Omnipotent Pandora, how can you accept that!! Kill that whore!!” I scream at her, and she stays silent.

”[No.]”

”Why?!”

”[Because it doesn’t matter. Plus, no avatar present here can kill Grimm. Besides, does it really matter to you? Pay closer attention to Grimm’s words... have you noticed that Grimm is the only one who fell entirely and exclusively in love with us without interference?]”

”[Zephyra, Mikael, Delphina, and Azraelith, our beloveds love us because we were the ones who made them love us. But Grimm? She loved us before we even knew of her existence. She might be a complete psychopath, but she has the purest love of all... and the most disgusting too.]”

”[I see no reason to kill her. Besides, she boosted our regeneration too. So does it really matter if she did ’that’ before?]”

”Damn it!!... I can’t believe this! Are you really Pandora?” I question this sphere of light.

”[Yes, but unlike you all, I feel nothing. The omnipotent have no emotions, so instead of letting myself be carried away by rage, I see the reasons and decide if it’s worth it or not. And all I see is a bizarre proof of love, which is already normal coming from Grimm.]”

”Normal?! Did you see that she trained Pandora G to-”

”[I know, I know everything.]”

”...Damn...” All the other Pandoras heard our conversation, and all are equally furious, but none of us have the level to face Grimm. And, in a certain way, yes, she loves us, and yes, she loved us before we loved her.

”Damn, damn, damn!! I can’t believe that bitch’s semen once ran through my veins-”

”[Actually, it still does, considering how dense Grimm’s magic is and considering I shared it with all avatars. Residues still exist in your bodies, though not in my current body, since I kind of don’t have a body.]”

”Shut up!! Seriously, stop talking!!” I don’t care if she’s omnipotent, honestly, I didn’t need to know that.

”[Shouldn’t we enjoy the beach? Your time here is limited.]”

”...” The others go back to their activities while I return to sunbathing on the chair, frustrated.

’I wish I didn’t know that...’ I pick up a piece of fruit to eat, but meanwhile, a few more of Grimm’s memories arrive. I look at the Omnipotent Pandora, seeing things from her perspective.

And yes, Grimm may be sick, but her love is something you can’t deny, just as you can’t deny the fear she had of losing us and the immense desire she had to speak of the future to help me.

”...” I try to ignore all of that, which no longer matters, and focus on this day off. Besides, I have questions for the Omnipotent Pandora that I’ll try to ask if I get the chance.

’Damn, Grimm reached a whole new level of Yandere!! I know there’s that whole thing about Yanderes putting bodily fluids or their own blood in food!! But Grimm went overboard.’ All the others are obviously thinking the same! It’s fucked up that only the Omnipotent Pandora, the ”real” one, thinks otherwise simply because ”it worked out.”
