The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 680: Elena Part 1 (Extra = Omnipotent Pandora)

”...Pandora here, brought this for you,” Elena says with a smile, handing me a glass of blood. I smile back at her, tossing the pen aside. I’m the avatar who handles all the kingdom’s administration, so for the past year and nine months I’ve done nothing but sign papers and give orders.

”Thanks, Elena. You’re the only one who gets me. Honestly, dealing with all this crap is a pain in the ass... haaa... and those idiot daughters of mine are causing trouble.” My daughters didn’t come home. Apparently they decided to go off and build their own things, but now they’re out there causing problems.

”...” Elena hands me the glass with a smile while I drink. Since my life is nothing but work now, Elena seems much more rested and happy, especially because we get to see each other all the time.

Elena is really nice. She reminds me of the past, back when I was young and lived in the mansion with her. Now I’m an adult and we live in my castle, but some things never changed, especially the way Elena treats me, and I like that.

”Pandora, once you’re done there, do you want to go out for coffee and something to eat together?” Elena proposes with a smile.

”A date?” I ask, spinning the pen between my fingers. My tail opens a drawer and grabs some brief paperwork so I can finish it today.

”Oh... I didn’t think of it like that... b-but yes,” she says timidly.

”Sorry, Elena. Not today. I’m a little stressed because of my idiot daughters... I’m so jealous of the other avatars.” My other avatars have such great lives.

Well, except for the avatar with Grimm. I’m not jealous of that avatar. That avatar is screwed. Grimm is disturbing and disgusting. All avatars receive each other’s memories, so we all know about the training to be a woman she’s putting him through.

’Urethral training... urgh, so disgusting it makes my skin crawl...’ Good thing sensations aren’t shared.

”It’s fine, Pandora, but you seem physically stressed.”

”Why do you say that?” I ask, confused.

”...You’ve already crushed 8,297 glasses, torn 1,858 papers, and broken 576 tables in moments of frustration. So even though your expression doesn’t change, your body seems... unfulfilled.”

”...Tsk...”

”Maybe you’re right! Me, a biological killing machine stuck doing desk work!! Of course my body is unfulfilled, and I’m unfulfilled too... it’s been a while since I’ve killed anything.” I look at Elena.

”Is there anything I can do?” she asks, wanting to help. I think for a moment until I remember my old promise.

”Actually, there is. I want you to call your mother.”

”?” Elena gets confused, but I just smile.

”Pandora, sorry for the question, but why do you need my mother?”

”Isn’t it obvious? I’m going to fuck both of you together. I need some entertainment, and what’s better than sex? Besides, I still need to punish your mother for hurting you in the past.”

”...” Elena makes the most embarrassed expression I’ve ever seen in my life.

”I-I-I’ll do that immediately... j-just a moment.” She runs out of the room, embarrassed, while I look out the window.

”I wonder what Elena’s mother is like.” The day I was going to fuck that bitch, it turned out Grimm kidnapped me and I didn’t get to find her, and after that I never had time to waste searching for Elena’s mother again.

So I know almost nothing about her mother, because I lost that chance. Maybe it was fate that I didn’t meet her, but now? Now I have time, strength, power, and above all, boredom.

”Yeah, I think I need a toy to destress. Watching the other avatars having fun and fucking has been absolute hell.” It’s almost torture, having to watch their memories and see how much they’re enjoying life while I’m trapped in a room signing papers and giving orders.

”...Although it is kind of nice...” Zephyra seems much happier living free in the forests with the avatar I gave her. Each avatar’s behavior was based on the choice of greater happiness for their partners.

Zephyra always sought ”freedom,” so now she has total freedom of choice and location. She has a giant area of safe forest to explore, have fun, and enjoy the environment. Zephyra didn’t just get an avatar that satisfies her sexual desires — she got the freedom she never had.

Delphina is a different case. The avatar with Delphina is much more perverted, but he’s that way because Delphina is a mix of dominant and shy. What Delphina wants, however, is to always be with me.

So the avatar with her is clingy and creative, always coming up with new things, dates, and romantic gestures to help Delphina feel happy and distract her in a cheerful way.

The avatar with Mikael is rougher, wilder, and more dominant, yet subservient. Everything he does is to lift Mikael’s spirits, which works. Mikael prefers that more dominant approach, and although she won’t admit it, by looking at the color of her emotions, she’s doing great and is very happy.

And then we come to the avatar with Grimm. He’s the most screwed, because Grimm isn’t easy to satisfy. Everything that satisfies Grimm is either something submissive and cute that she can break, or something disgusting and revolting, like a bizarre inhuman form.

So that avatar ended up submissive, cute, and weak, so Grimm can satisfy her sadistic desires and be happy.

”I still need to solve the problem with my rebellious daughters...” They became quite wild. After living for a long time in the dead mana forest, they finally came out of there.

But they didn’t come to my kingdom. They developed their own form of autonomy, and apparently they fought with each other. Maybe I need to show up to see what they’re doing directly.

”Well, let’s leave that for later. First I need to meet Elena’s mother...”

...

...

...

”Pandora, why are you doing that? Omnipotence allows you so many things... and you’re spinning a pen between your fingers as if that would change anything,” Oriane asks even though she already knows the answer, while I spin a pen between my fingers.

”Just contemplating my miserable existence,” I say to her while watching my avatars.

”You know... watching my past actions, my former self, and my avatars... it seems kind of pathetic, like an irrational beast. Maybe because I now have infinite knowledge, I can’t think of another way.”

”But the reality is that seeing a wild, aggressive animal is just... insignificant. Violence, death, lust, destruction, and torture — initially it seems like a rational personal choice and a disgusting life from many perspectives.”

”But for an omnipotent being like me, it’s more like watching an animal that thinks it has some kind of choice... yes, that definition has never made so much sense to explain my existence before...”

”If I look at fate as a book, my story is like a biological catalog, following how an animal behaves in a strange environment.” I make an almost clinical analysis of my former existence.

”Pandora, it’s not fair to compare the past with your current knowledge. All living beings will seem like animals to us. They have impulses, instincts, and their free will depends on beings like us allowing it.”

”I know. That fact is obvious. But still... let’s just say the existence of ’Pandora’ as a living being is far deeper than it seems, yet realistically, it’s as deep as following the reason why pigs take mud baths.” I don’t mind insulting my former existence.

Because I can’t feel anything about it, so a cold analysis shows me new possibilities.

”Do you regret your existence?”

”...Regret? Oriane, you know I can’t feel anything. I just think there were better routes that I can see now. I wasted too much time on primitive banalities. If I had spent less time on sexual activities, torture, and violence, I would have become omnipotent much sooner than when I did.”

”I don’t deny my former existence, but it wasn’t efficient. It was simply empty, sad, and pathetic in my view. But I can understand that it was also fascinating, curious, and interesting to observe. After all, zoos exist, don’t they?”

”Pandora, your comparisons with zoo animals are really something I’d love to say I didn’t understand, but since I did, there’s no point in denying it. Anything to add?”

”...I wouldn’t change anything. But if I had died and had the chance to be reborn, I would have liked to be born as an ordinary person. There’s a unique charm in the mundane that animalistic savagery never gave me.” I crush the pen in my hands, already knowing the future of each avatar.

Oriane smiles at me. We’ve had this exact conversation with different words before. In the end, the past is the past, and there’s no reason for me to change the past since it matters so little.
