The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 144: Recovery for new challenges

I spent the next 3 days walking through the forest, killing and eating everything I came across. During this time, I tried to communicate with the little girl, but she never says anything unless she uses magic.

At least she seems to be smart and understands perfectly what I’m saying, so I don’t think her not speaking is a big problem.

I decided to keep the little girl hidden inside my shadow because I decided not to use the shadows to fight during my time in the forest. I need to live without help, and the little girl is a very good help because of her strength, and that takes away some of the meaning of the training.

My route is a straight line to the strongest creature I can feel in the area around me. There are several very strong creatures, but I’m going to the closest one. I’m looking for the strongest monster I can find so I can devour it.

”I think I can get there in a few more minutes.” The place where I am is a jungle, but the trees are blood-red, while the ground is black as obsidian.

The mana here seems to be even more unstable than the mana of the place where I started, not that it’s relevant enough to be a problem for the current me.

I soon arrive at a lake. The lake is so clear that you can see the bottom, which is made of sand. Amidst the gloomy scenery, this place seems like a very beautiful oasis, which is obviously a trap.

”Could you come out? You’re not that well hidden,” I say to whatever is hiding in the water.

”My, my, you’re quite smart, I see,” an androgynous voice speaks as a plant-woman emerges from the water.

’From what I’ve read in books, she must be an Alraune.’ From the water, I notice the figure of such a being. The upper part resembles a woman, her skin a very light green, while a large red flower adorns her head.

However, from the abdomen down, it resembles a large carnivorous plant. The jaw full of teeth seems to have a powerful biting capacity, while the Alraune appears to have a good amount of magic and considerable intelligence, as she can communicate.

It seems that it’s common for monsters to be able to talk in this forest.

’She’s not the one... there’s something else.’ What I’m hunting is not this plant woman. She doesn’t even come close to the aura I’ve been pursuing for the last 3 days the aura was so large that I could feel it even from a distance.

Among the various powerful auras, this is considerably peaceful, but it’s still quite large, and it was the closest to me.

The aura of this plant woman is weak in comparison, and as a trap-type monster, even though this plant woman is strong, she’s still not a big deal compared to my current power.

”Hey, plant woman, what are you hiding in this oasis?” I ask without touching the water. I know that whatever I’m hunting is around here.

”...I don’t know what you’re talking about, miss...” She speaks in a serious tone.

”If you don’t tell me what you’re hiding, I’ll tear you to pieces.” I say as I let my aura spread through the environment. The plant girl’s body shivers all over, and her coloration becomes more opaque, showing the effects that my power now has on other beings.

”...I-I don’t know what you’re talking about, there’s nothing in this oasis besides me...”

”...Come to think of it, I’ve never eaten a plant girl. Are you considered meat or vegetable?” I say to her with a smile as I start to enter the water. It’s not very deep, reaching up to my knee, so it’s clear that this plant girl was hiding in a hole in the middle of the oasis.

”D-Don’t come closer.” Red vines emerge from the water and grab me, quickly beginning to drain my blood. The plant girl’s gaze becomes briefly confident.

”H-Haha, you’re not that strong...” She says with obvious relief. I let her continue draining my blood.

”I’ll dry you out until you die, little girl.” She says with an obvious smile.

”How fun.” I say to her.

”Let’s see how much of my blood you can take.” The plant girl makes an obvious pained expression as the blood drain decreases dramatically.

My blood is not something so simple. I am biologically the strongest predator that can be born, which means there are no real weaknesses to be taken advantage of.

If you think about it logically, blood can also be a weak point, especially if it’s against a vampire. That’s why my blood tends to attack the other being’s cells if it’s taken without permission.

To be more precise, while my blood is in my body, it has a life of its own and acts like a virus that consumes and attacks impurities. But when that blood goes into another body, it considers the other body an impurity and starts attacking.

To prevent this, there are a few options: the first is to kill the blood using mana, the second is to let the blood be taken, and the third is for me to willingly give my blood.

However, for those who don’t know they have to kill my blood with mana and just drink it, they should feel a lot of pain, as they will be attacked from the inside.

Although this is not enough to kill someone, since my blood has a useful duration of a maximum of minutes, it is still painful, especially now that I have become stronger.

’Damn it, only those I like can have my blood.’ I think while deciding to explode her.

”[Explosive Life]” I use the magic once, converting all the blood she drained into explosives.

”[Explosive Life]” With the second spell, the explosive is activated, exploding a large part of her body. Although she is still alive and screaming in pain, it seems she doesn’t send the blood directly to the stomach, but stores it in another part, which is why she was able to survive.

Her confidence has turned to fear again.

I grab one of the pieces of her that fell into the water and taste it.

”Hmm... I’m not a big fan of vegetables.” I say after tasting the flavor. It’s not bad, but I still prefer meat and blood, not this ambulatory vegetable.

I continue walking towards her.

”Are you still going to try to hide that there’s something else here?” I ask when I reach her.

”P-Please, d-don’t kill me. I-I’ll give it to you.” She says desperately, crying. It seems being exploded from the inside out is quite painful. She moves the rest of her body to reveal a passage.

”...hmm... now it makes sense why this has so much aura that I could feel it from so far away,” I say as the plant girl delivers a mini version of Delphina, which looks like a 30-centimeter doll.

From what I can tell, it’s in a state of coma or complete inactivity, and it also seems to be made purely of water element mana, so it might be correct to call it an artificial spirit or mana clone.

’A clone... I wonder what it’s used for?’

”Hey, plant girl, how did you get this?” I say, looking at her angrily. Delphina is mine, how dare this mere highly developed plant have something like this.

All I was able to take home from Delphina was semen, which, by the way, is still in my uterus. I think the semen storage is similar to my stomach, which can store food infinitely.

Of course, I can’t hold infinite semen, but I can store it as long as I have time for it. Just like I can’t eat without stopping, but I can store food infinitely in my stomach.

Although keeping the semen stored does consume a little mana, and I’m keeping it inside because I wanted to have at least a little of Delphina with me. Though it also serves to impregnate me if I want, although I won’t do that since I don’t have time to have children yet.

Of course, if Delphina decides to have more time with me, I’ll replenish a new stock.

”I-I f-found it...” I cut off one of her arms. There’s no way this plant woman can be trusted.

”Listen and pay attention. If you don’t tell me exactly how you got this, I’ll make you go through hell.”

”I-I swear, I f-found it 100 years ago, i-it was already in this oasis, a-and I just built my home on top of it to get a little of the magic released from it.” She speaks desperately while holding what’s left of her arm.

”KYAAAA!” The plant woman screams as she is torn apart by shadow sharks. I watch as the sharks tear her body to pieces, quickly devouring what was left of that plant bitch.

”Damn whore, deserves to die for stealing Delphina’s magic,” I say with disdain as I let the sharks devour what was left of her.

”What do I do with this mini Delphina...” I don’t know what it’s used for, but since it’s something made by a goddess, it must have a good use.

”I’ll leave it where it was... no... I think Delphina won’t mind if I eat it...” I say as I raise the mini Delphina to my mouth, it seems great to eat to have full recovery from any previous damage.

”...”

”...”

The mini Delphina opens her eyes and looks directly at me.

”Ah... I wasn’t trying to eat you...” I say with little conviction, especially because my mouth was already ready to bite her.

”It’s okay, Pandora, you can eat this copy. It’s just a tracker I have, I haven’t used them in so long that I’d forgotten about it.” The mini Delphina speaks with the same voice as the original Delphina.

”Delphina, is that you?” I ask when I see her speak.

”No, I just retain commands that update themselves.”

”So I can really eat you?” This little thing has so much mana and looks so delicious. The little thing nods, and I immediately start eating. It has no taste.

Because it’s just an accumulation of water element mana, but I wasn’t after the flavor, but the mana this little thing had.

Thanks to having eaten this little thing, I am 100% recovered from any problems that may have remained before. This is very necessary for the challenges I will face in the future.

’Wait... it means there may be thousands of mini Delphinas out there... I should get one to keep as a plush toy in my room...’ I think as I decide to look for another powerful monster.

It seems that the closer you get to the center of the forest, the stronger the monsters become, and I’m sure that at the center of the forest there will be a monster as strong as me. This plant girl is already a good indication she was very weak compared to me, but absurdly strong compared to many I’ve seen.

’Now that I don’t have to worry about mana thanks to the mini Delphina, I’m going to speed up.’ Before, I was walking at a slow pace to save mana, but finding the mini Delphina solved this problem.

I use mana to strengthen my body and accelerate to get to the center as quickly as possible.
