The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 116: BOOOOM!!!

Quickly after our victory the teams were sent to different areas while my team was taken to a stage where we would be rewarded.

Soon the 5 of us climbed up on a stage in front of a large audience, everyone in the audience is hyped, while several screens made by magic show images of the best moments of some teams.

’Wow...Amiya did better than I thought defending the gate of the labyrinth...and I’ve never seen that magical girl costume before...’ I never thought that cowardly girl could have such determination.

’That’s me...I looked really good in the footage, I guess I’m very photogenic’ Not bad at all, even though the fact that the images don’t show who was the pervert that did that to me, they don’t even show anything from that competition, all images are from another competition.

’The director purposely hid it...tsk’ I guess I’ll have to give up on finding out who it is, anyway when I destroy this kingdom that person will probably die.

Soon the 5 of us stood there while the director presents us with a medal.

’3...2...1...’

BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!

BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!

BOOOOOM!!!!!

BOOOOM!!!!

The bleachers explode while the director reflexively raises a barrier that protects us from the shrapnel, I can barely contain the urge to laugh when I see blood raining down on the barrier.

Various debris like wood and stones fly everywhere, but the really interesting debris are the arms, legs and heads that are more easily visible flying through the sky.

The blood rain is also very good, this bomb had a greater focus on having a big impact rather than spreading fire, so the shrapnel is larger than in conventional bombs.

’What a scene...beautiful...truly a beautiful work of art...’ The director’s face is also funny, she seems totally surprised and shocked, I guess she never thought someone would have the audacity to attack while she’s here to protect everyone.

’Of course you didn’t detect that’ It’s an explosive made of chemicals, no magic was used, for those dependent on magic, such things go unnoticed.

I know very well how convenient magic is, because I use it in various things, this causes physical things to go unnoticed when they are not too obvious.

’It was just commoners and some low-ranking nobles in the bleachers, what a pity...’ Important people acquired a magical image in a somewhat privileged manner by being shown directly in their homes through relics.

’It’s about to start...the 5 little things I discovered and was a part of...’ I calmly await the thunderous sound.

”Students, stay calm, please no panic, I’ll take care of this...” The director speaks trying to calm the students who were behind the stage.

Soon an earthquake occurs along with a huge rumble, quickly everyone looks towards the academy.

And what we see is a huge ice area that has destroyed several blocks near the academy, the academy was protected by the barrier but everything around it froze, the director seems desperate because she doesn’t know what to do.

Several students cry and freeze in place.

’Hell of ice...just as I imagined’ I discovered who [Crescent Moon Hunter] is, and besides that, I also discovered that the Crescent Moon Hunter has set up an artifact called the Hell of Ice around the academy.

The reason? I have no idea, but this artifact was considerably weak because it didn’t have much mana, which would have caused it to only destroy one block.

But of course I found the location of the artifact and made a small adjustment by adding my mana to strengthen the relic, causing its power to increase greatly.

Fortunately, the artifact destroys itself, so there is no evidence, after all, the Crescent Moon Hunter wouldn’t leave obvious evidence, for an assassin who was committing gruesome murders to leave evidence is ridiculous.

”Pandora, was that you? It was impressive...” Violet says with a somewhat enchanted tone but without hiding her usual arrogance.

”More or less” I murmur quietly to her, I didn’t really set up the artifact, I just increased the power, and besides, the slime bomb must have exploded inside the director’s office.

With all this, a real mess happened, there was the explosion of the bleachers, the slime explosion in the director’s office, and the ice explosion around the academy.

Fortunately, all the students were in this competition, so I know none of the heroes died in this.

’Now let’s see our little artist’ I walk through the crowd of confused students and take the Crescent Moon Hunter’s hand, soon I pull her to follow the path with me.

’It was truly a surprise...I never imagined this person was the Crescent Moon Hunter’ I discovered it by pure chance.

I found out when I went to the Veritus house, I witnessed the murder with my own eyes, I used my magic to hide and see the assassin recording that pattern and adding the object to the dead body.

Seeing the scene was truly fun, I must say the assassin is talented, but made a mistake, the assassin apparently used an artifact that confused people, making them avoid the area, but...I’m not human, naturally the artifact didn’t affect me and I could watch everything.

Soon I’m in an isolated location with the Crescent Moon Hunter, the director didn’t even notice me leaving the stage and taking someone with me.

I quickly pin the Crescent Moon Hunter against the wall, placing my two hands on each side and leaving her head in the middle, so the Crescent Moon Hunter is facing away from me.

’In this position, it even looks like I’m going to ask her out...’ I chose this position specifically to use as an excuse if the director shows up, I can just say I was trying teenage romance.

’Although trying this after seeing deaths occur is strange...well, love has no time or place...’

”So...” I start the conversation as the Crescent Moon Hunter looks at me nervously, she’s also blushing, probably an unusual situation for her since I suddenly grabbed and dragged her, then pinned her against the wall.

”I really liked your art, little artist” I say to her with a smile.

”...Thank you?” She speaks confused.

”You know you have talent, I’m serious...The way you moved that dagger, the way you sculpted the flesh with skill, the way your smile remained active the whole time during the process...truly artistic.”

She looks at me nervously, it’s obvious to her that I’m talking about her murders.

”Can I know what led you to do such art? And why carve a pattern above the church’s pattern?” I question without much beating around the bush, I know she’s smart and won’t do anything stupid.

”...I was just getting revenge...for a past mistake made by the church...” She speaks with a somewhat vacant look, but she seems excited and enthusiastic to share her art.

”Really? But you’re talented, how many times did you do that? 5 times? 10 times? 100 times? 1000 times? It doesn’t matter much, but I think you did a wonderful job with the work.”

”B-Well I didn’t count how many...y-you really think it turned out well? I used embroidery techniques to sculpt the cuts” she speaks with some hesitation.

’She doesn’t seem to care much that I found out...strange girl’ she’s always been a bit weird, but who would have thought she was an assassin who liked to sculpt the flesh of her targets.

”So Crescent Moon Hunter...I won’t tell anyone about this...but could you tell me more about the church in exchange?”

”Ah...yes, whatever you want” She speaks barely containing her excitement.

’Strange girl...well, it doesn’t matter’ Initially, when I discovered the Crescent Moon Hunter, I thought of not doing anything, it doesn’t affect me in any way, and besides, the Hunter has a pattern, so the heroes won’t be hunted by her.

But the fact that she has a grudge against the church seemed useful to me, because she could provide me with useful information that the demons can’t obtain from the church.

That’s why I decided to come.

”Pandora, but...can I know why you won’t tell anyone that I’m the Crescent Moon Hunter?” She asks with interest, while staring at me intently.

”Because I...because I love you hopelessly, I’ve always loved you and can barely contain myself” I say while kissing her, who writhes a little but reciprocates the kiss.

’Damn director...’ She came after me, I felt her approach, and it would be dangerous if she saw me talking about the Crescent Moon Hunter with the Crescent Moon Hunter herself.

And it would be bad if the Crescent Moon Hunter said something stupid, so I had to silence her quickly while also making up an excuse, so I spoke loudly for the director to hear what I said.

’Sorry Zephyra...Mikael...Delphina...it’s for a greater good...she kisses well...’ I don’t love this girl, but I needed an excuse.

I deepen the kiss, I need to be convincing, the girl also does the same, she seems to be strangely enjoying it very much, she puts her hands around my neck and holds on firmly as if to prevent me from stopping the kiss.

’W-Why is this girl so active?’ She moves her tongue in an exploratory way as if she wants to know every place in my mouth, the kiss is like that of passionate lovers.

I doubt the director can say she doesn’t believe this.

’Why doesn’t the director go away? Or prevent this obscenity? Damn it...’ The director is a bit naive in some points but very perceptive in others, I need to be absolutely convincing in this act or she won’t believe it.

...

...

...

”Buaaaa”

”Hick, Hick...m-my parents” I see some students crying.

’What do I do? I’m the director, but I wasn’t ready for this...’ I regret having been lazy in reviewing the bleachers more thoroughly, I thought a magical sweep would be enough.

’This has gotten completely out of control...and the academy...the outside is frozen...who did such a barbaric thing?...’ I look around, debris, deaths and crying people as well as confused students.

”SECURITY, LOOK FOR SURVIVORS AND HELP THE INJURED” I start giving several orders in sequence to help.

’Pandora...where’s Pandora?’ Pandora is sick and dying, this attack must have had some meaning behind it, and one of the meanings may be kidnapping students.

”[World Barrier]” I use a powerful barrier magic to protect everyone while I go in search of Pandora.

”[Mana Spatial Sweep]” I use another magic to see all the mana within a 30 kilometer radius.

’Found her...she’s not far’ I don’t need to spend mana teleporting, so I run to where she is, soon I arrive and I’m about to turn the corner when I hear Pandora speaking loudly.

”...Because I love you hopelessly, I’ve always loved you and can barely contain myself” Pandora says to another student while I see her kiss the student who promptly accepts the kiss.

’W-What...Pandora? Love...THE PRINCESS?’
