The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 140: New shade

”Tsk, they’re better than I thought,” I murmur as I move from one tree to another. I found a group of humans and knew they were strong since they are alive in this place, but I didn’t think they could react to teleportation so quickly.

They even managed to hit me, though it was useless since I slipped into the shadows and teleported away.

I begin to approach for a frontal attack.

’Who should I target first? The leader seems the most problematic, while the one dressed as a mage and wielding a staff appears the weakest.’ It’s not good to underestimate this team, so I decide to try a different approach.

I decide to use the [Abyssal Authority] passive to order all the weak monsters in the region.

”THIS IS AN ORDER, ATTACK THAT GROUP, FOCUS ON THE WOMAN FIRST.” As soon as I give the order, a momentary silence occurs, followed by many footsteps.

There are various types of monsters here, but most are weak, so they just hide, although I call them weak, they are clearly still considerably strong.

I’m not sure exactly how strong, but without a doubt, they are much stronger than common monsters.

I’d say a goblin from this place would be about 50 times stronger than a normal goblin.

I say this based on what I feel and the high strength of that Orc, considering that Orcs are a type of common and quite weak monster that can be found.

Soon, various types of monsters surround the group and begin to attack, while I wait for the smallest opening to appear. Unfortunately, most of the monsters come up against a barrier and cannot get through.

’I need something stronger... I can break the barrier, but I shouldn’t exhaust myself that way...’ I think about what to do to kill that group and then devour them.

’A shadow... I need a powerful shadow, stronger than the sharks or wolves... a shadow that has enough power to shatter that barrier.’ I think of various shadows.

The ones that seem the most powerful are shadows based on dragons, but I’ve already summoned them, and I know they couldn’t break that barrier.

’What other monster do I know that is powerful?... Maybe... myself? Can I summon a shadow based on myself? What would that shadow be?’ The idea seems exciting and creative at the same time.

A shadow of myself should be quite strong, considering my race, so I decide to try.

I begin to shape the shadows based on my own body, trying to make it as close to me as possible, but even doing it this way, the shadow is slowly changing on its own.

I can’t create it instantly like other shadows, and it’s taking a slightly different form than what I want.

The group seems to be handling the monsters well, they are quickly defeating the monsters while the barrier doesn’t even suffer any damage.

”What is that?... Is that a shadow?” What emerged from my creation was not what I expected, and I can’t say that this is really me.

What appeared was a little girl with pale skin and red eyes. She has a black angelic halo, and what’s more strange is her tail, which is nothing like mine.

Her tail is a strange shadow with a monster’s head at the tip. The girl and the head look at me.

Her tail is quite thick and longer than mine, and its shape reminds me of a bone and serpentine structure, with shades of red and black. The base of the tail is like armor.

Although my tail can extend in size, its natural length is slightly shorter than hers.

The tip has a smooth appearance, the eyes of the being on the tail tip are a red spiral, and I notice that the girl also has wings, which are black with a bit of red on the underside.

Overall, the girl has a frightening appearance that somewhat resembles my own, but with several obvious differences, as her size must be a maximum of 138 centimeters, maybe even smaller.

The girl also has long, black hair like the darkness, and although her general appearance would be scary for many, she seems cute to me.

’Why did it come out like this? All the shadows had the mold I imagined... Why did my own mold, which is what I know the most, come out so different? Is it because my true form is a monster? So the girl came out wrong? Or is it because I tried to make a shadow of myself?’ The girl just looks at me without doing anything.

”Hey, girl, are you my shadow?” She nods her head, although the tail also nods its head.

’Wait, which one is the body? Why does the tail also respond to me?’ She’s something so confusing. I try to generate another shadow more similar to me, but for some reason, I can’t.

When I try to make another shadow based on myself, the shadows dissipate.

’Is she unique?... Can my ability do that? Why can’t I make another one? Is she as reliable as the other shadows?’ I don’t know if this is reliable.

”So if you’re my shadow, obey me and break that barrier.” I order her, I don’t care if she’s strange or if she came out differently than I wanted, as long as she can break the barrier, that’s enough.

She nods her head and begins to fly to the barrier location.

’Why is she a unique shadow?... It doesn’t seem like she knows how to speak, as she only nodded her head... She also doesn’t have a color of emotions.’ More precisely, I can’t see her colors.

The girl soon flies over the barrier, and only now do I notice that, like me, she is completely naked. She is something so strange that it had gone unnoticed at this point, although I had my panties, but they were destroyed in the fight with the Orc, so I’m naked and dirty with blood from feasting on the Orc’s flesh.

Soon, the mouth of the tail’s head opens, and a red sphere is formed. After that, that thing shoots the sphere at the barrier. As soon as it hits, it creates cracks all over the barrier, showing that this girl is stronger than the monsters.

’Now,’ I think with a malicious smile. I advance extremely fast, practically instantly covering the entire distance, and with a blow, I break the already damaged barrier, ignoring the few remaining living monsters.

As soon as the barrier is broken, I use [Dance of Shadows] and appear behind the archer, ready to kill her, but when my blow with my hand was about to hit, I was stopped by the leader, who is a swordsman capable of drawing his sword absurdly fast.

The sword blow on my nails generates sparks, and I jump back to take some distance and charge forward again, taking advantage of the momentum.

I try to command the girl without giving direct orders. My shadows usually act on direct orders, but I can also make them act according to my will, although it’s a bit more difficult, so I prefer to just give the order.

As soon as my blow collides with the group’s swordsman, the Tank of the group rushes at me, trying to strike me, but changes direction to protect the group’s mage from the attack of that girl.

I notice that this girl is quite strong compared to common shadows, which only makes her even stranger, as all my shadows are black with only the shape of the mold I want, different from this girl who has pale skin and red eyes, although she doesn’t have a black spiral in her eye like me.

The archer starts shooting arrows at me, but I block them with my tail, although the arrows are stronger than expected, so they hurt me.

[Path of Time]

I use the Path of Time to slow everything around me so I can think about the best move to make.

’An arrow is approaching, it will pierce my tail and hit my head... the girl is too far away to protect me, and my hands are occupied with the swordsman.’ I deactivate the Path of Time and quickly twist my head at an unnatural angle.

This way, I catch the arrow with my teeth while hitting the swordsman with my tail. The archer is momentarily surprised, but as a skilled person, she pulls out daggers and throws them at me.

’Rogue’ I noticed due to her initial stealth.

I look forward again and let the poisoned daggers pierce my back.

’Poison... it’s useless.’ Poisoned daggers won’t help them defeat me.

’The monsters were killed by the mage, who will now focus on me.’ I try to order the girl to use that red sphere on the mage again. She obeys without me saying anything.

The Tank uses the shield and protects the mage, but both are pushed back a bit.

’Me against the swordsman and the archer, and the girl against the Tank and the Mage... that should work. As soon as one of them dies, the advantage will turn to me.’

I use [Shadow Sculpture] and form thorns from the shadows that rise from the ground, hitting the entire area. The swordsman and the archer avoided it without much trouble, but the Tank received the attack, though his armor withstood it.

However, the mage had his arm ripped off. I have the girl focus on killing the mage, as he will be one of the worst if he starts using magic without stopping, so we can’t give him that opportunity.
