The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 121: Soldiers ready

I’m just a simple infantry soldier here in the army, today a thousand soldiers were selected for some kind of special mission directly commanded by the demon king himself.

Many got excited about this, as it’s rare to have any contact with his majesty.

”GET UP!” We heard the voice of our general, and we quickly got up and left the tents that are in his majesty’s castle.

Soon, all 1,000 soldiers gather in front of the castle, our mission was not necessarily specified, but we are prepared for anything, even to sacrifice our lives if necessary.

After everyone gets into position, we wait.

”Hey, what do you think the mission is gonna be?” A fellow soldier asks.

”Uhmm...I have no idea, but I’m pumped, General Thalor’s army training was intense and I’m ready to use all of that in a fight.” Many soldiers even died in that hellish training.

And those who managed to complete the training had the honor of being able to serve his majesty, which is not so easy, unlike human armies, demonic armies have an absurdly difficult selection process.

During the reign of his majesty’s older sister, millions of recruits died in the training over the millennia that she ruled, that’s why each demonic soldier is strong compared to common soldiers of other races.

In the hostile environment that is our kingdom, we need to have at least a minimum level of power to survive, and those below that power level either die or usually tend to become employees or guinea pigs, depending on their luck.

”And what do you think?” I ask the colleague who had asked me.

”...I have no idea, but I’m super excited to see his majesty, she’s a cutie, have you seen her dolls?” He talks about the various toys of his majesty that can be found in the city.

”Yeah, I bought one for my daughter, she loved it,” I say with a smile as I remember how excited my daughter was with the gift.

Children are taught from a very young age who the demon king is, that’s why the demon king is something that children are fans of.

”My son also really liked the plushies, he won’t let go of that toy haha.”

”I understand you well haha.” In various places, there are minimal conversations like this, it’s good to unwind.

”EVERYONE ATTENTION, HIS MAJESTY WILL MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT” General Thalor of the army speaks to everyone who quickly fall silent while straightening their posture.

The castle gate soon opens as we see the figure of his majesty coming out.

Now it’s sunset, so the reddish-orange light makes her look radiant.

Her black and white dress is so cute, just as we all imagined, she’s very cute, her tail moves gently from side to side in an almost hypnotic movement, while her halo is a highlight for a being as divine as her.

She stops at a podium while taking a deep breath, preparing to speak.

”Soldiers, I’ll start this speech with questions. How many of you have a family? How many of you love someone? How many of you have children? Raise your hands.”

Her voice spreads through the environment as if it were in all the places, it’s a cute but authoritative voice.

Soon, almost everyone raises their hand, it’s obvious that most here have a family to take care of or people they love.

”I understand...love is... complicated, isn’t it? It’s beautiful, but it’s as cruel and sharp as the deadliest blade,” she speaks as if talking to herself.

”Love is really difficult, don’t you agree, soldiers? It comes out of nowhere when you least expect it.” All the soldiers agree, I met my wife on the battlefield, we were trying to kill each other until we fell in love.

Showing that love is really strange in various aspects, I still have the scar on my chest caused by her in battle, a reminder of the day I met the woman of my life.

”Today’s mission...is a mission in the name of love, that’s right, I love someone very much, so I prepared a bouquet with my own mana while preparing for hours to ask for this person’s hand in marriage,” her majesty speaks with a touch of nostalgia.

What she says keeps everyone very attentive, the person her majesty loves will be our future ruler, and the second in command, so it is something we must pay attention to.

”Unfortunately...this person broke my heart with their cold and cruel rejection, after making me love them, they denied me,” everyone holds back the shock, and some seem to get really upset, how dare someone refuse the love of his majesty? Many would kill for that.

”However...” She speaks in a tone so serious that it sends shivers even to us allies, her eyes are more disturbing than any monster I’ve faced, a deep obsession that reminds me of the descriptions of the abyss.

”I’m not someone who takes ’no’ for an answer, I take what I want when I want it, if I want her, then I’ll have her, she chose to deny me and I’ll show her the mistake she made by doing that.”

”Today we will kill everyone in that underdeveloped village, we will impale the heads of the inhabitants on spears and display them in the city square, we are demons and monsters here, there’s no reason to show any pity to them.”

”We will go today to exterminate the dragon village, which besides the chief having refused to give me his daughter’s hand in marriage, also broke the agreement we had with them...we will punish these offenders for their mistake.”

”We will show anyone who sees that village in the future that they must not fail us.”

Everyone gets excited and thrilled at the prospect of helping his majesty with this, because it literally means helping his majesty obtain our future queen.

”This is the image of the girl I love, she stole my heart and then shattered it..., but I still love her too much...that’s why I’m going to take everything she has until the only thing left is me.” A magic image is shown, and all the soldiers look at it attentively.

”The orders are simple, the cavalry soldiers will go to the 4 entrances of the village, while the infantry soldiers will provide support through a complete siege, during the siege, kill the inhabitants in the most brutal way you can, then decapitate them and impale their heads on spears that we will leave in the main square.”

All the demons tremble with excitement, in the end, violence is deeply ingrained in our being, and this really excites all of us.

”The archers must kill those who try to escape, while the heavy infantry must guard the locations that have already been dominated, while the 20 mages we are taking must find the locations of hidden people and secret passages.”

”In the village you will encounter another 500 allies who are already there, explain the situation to them and tell them what they need to do, they will have an idea of what we are doing but don’t know the complete plan...however, listen closely...if Zephyra has a single strand of hair missing, I’ll make you beg for death.”

Her authoritative tone and dignity in giving the commands is incredible, her cute appearance is not something to be taken lightly, cuteness is a dangerous weapon and her majesty shows this well by giving us these orders.

Being deceived by cuteness or underestimating the cute ones is something demons would never do, there’s even a joking phrase that says ”The cuter, the more dangerous.”

Of course, we gladly accept this mission she has given us.

”Now get ready to be teleported, we’re going after my dear and beloved future wife, and one last warning, don’t invade the chief’s house, Zephyra will be in that house and I want to surprise her.”

Soon, we are all guided to a large teleportation circle, everyone gets ready for this important mission, as this mission is for her majesty to obtain our queen.

...

...

...

”So what do you think?” I say to Elena as I watch the soldiers being teleported.

”I think it’s good, Pandora, although I thought it would be a little different,” Elena replies as we watch, I soon grab that giant ax.

”Hey, Violet, get in the ax, this will be my weapon for today.” Soon, Violet does as I asked, the red colors of the ax become a darker tone while purple details begin to appear.

’Didn’t even ask the weapon grade...well, it doesn’t matter, it seems good...’ Elena said the treasure is still expanding because none of them have put all their treasure in the treasure vault since there was no space.

”And how are the preparations on the other side?” I ask Thalor.

”The artifact that prevents sound has already been installed in the village by Freya, we also confirmed that Zephyra is also...Zephyra-sama is also sleeping peacefully at home,” I glare at Thalor for just calling Zephyra by name.

”Great, and the mobilization of the soldiers?”

”We slightly changed the coordinates, so they appeared outside the village and will start surrounding it perfectly, in 5 minutes everything will be ready for the attack.”

I had thought of setting the houses on fire, but I don’t want to take the risk of Zephyra getting hurt in the fire or that the artwork that will be created will be destroyed, so I won’t burn anything.

”But your majesty, I have a question...what will you do with Zephyra-sama? Will she be captured?”

Calypso asks, I didn’t even see when she arrived.

”No...not initially, I want to play with her a bit, I’ve read that vampires have a culture where the blood bath rejuvenates the skin and also brings good luck and happiness, I believe it would be good for Zephyra to experience that as well.”

”...Your majesty, I believe Kaelith’s perverted temperament is slowly affecting you,” Calypso says.

”Why? I don’t think soaking her in blood before sex is bad...it’s not like I’m going to rape her in the town square, I’d rather not be observed by decapitated heads, I’ll just look for a nice bed and take her with me...and anyway, I can just lick the blood off her body.”

The culture of vampires is interesting, although a bit bizarre in various aspects, from what I’ve read in history books, the queen of vampires is a necrophiliac who has a strange lust for...powerful people who have already departed.

The blood bath is also a sign of good luck and happiness in the marriage between vampires, to the point where on the wedding night of the couple, both are soaked in blood before consummating their marriage.

That’s why I thought it would be nice to do the same, besides, it also shows that I want to have a good relationship with the vampires...and it also seems exciting to lick Zephyra’s whole body.

’The vampire queen is strange...’ Necrophilia is a point I prefer not to do, I think if Zephyra died I would prefer to crystallize her body and keep it forever, just to observe.

Of course, the queen of vampires probably uses magic to keep her...toys preserved, but even so, I think it’s not exciting to lie with a dead person.

They are cold and don’t react to your touch, which takes all the fun away, you can’t even hear them moan.

’Wait...so if the dead moaned...’ I’d rather not think about what I would do with that kind of thing.

’I need to clean my mind...I’m being corrupted by Kaelith’s lust...’ I need to stop reading the letters Kaelith writes to me.
