CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1920: Chapter 1928: The Most Foolish

Upon receiving Jillian Carter’s call, James Carter was sitting in the car.

”Brother, did you know Mandy Forest is getting married?”

On the phone, Jillian Carter suddenly threw out a sentence like this, startling James Carter, who took a long time to come back to his senses.

”That day, when I was eating alone at that restaurant, I met Sister Mandy Forest, and it was she who told me herself. Brother, you like Mandy Forest so much, don’t you want to win her back?” Jillian Carter’s tone carried some urgency.

”Brother, you should go win Mandy Forest back. It was my fault back then. When you went abroad, I told Mandy Forest that you didn’t like her anymore, that you chose me, your sister, and that’s why you broke up with her.”

James Carter remained silent for a long time.

It wasn’t because Jillian Carter spoke of that past incident, but rather the news of Mandy’s marriage that left him slightly shaken.

But later, James Carter’s emotions gradually calmed down.

”She’s not young anymore. In the past, I delayed her. Now, she’s getting married, I bless her,” James Carter said slowly. ”She deserves someone better to accompany her this lifetime.”

The blessing, James Carter said, was very sincere.

James Carter considers Mandy Forest to be the one he feels most sorry for in his life.

”Brother, I’ve checked, Mandy isn’t marrying that guy because she likes him,” Jillian Carter said. ”That guy is using the kindness he showed Mandy Forest in the past, making her marry him as his convenience to...”

Afraid that James Carter wouldn’t believe her, Jillian Carter continued, ”That guy is fighting with his ex-wife over custody rights for the child. The court’s intention is to choose the side of the husband and wife that is most beneficial to the child’s growth. So, that guy made Mandy Forest marry him so he could have the child live in a complete family. The court would then judge the child to him, and Mandy Forest frequently interacts with that child. The child likes Mandy Forest very much, so that’s why the man targeted Mandy Forest.”

Jillian Carter grew more anxious as she spoke, ”That man is too shameless, actually letting Mandy Forest use a lifetime marriage to repay kindness. Brother, if you still like Mandy Forest, you should go and win her back.”

”Jillian,” James Carter rebuked softly, ”You should not investigate Mandy’s private matters, and this matter, you absolutely must not publicize.”

”Brother, are you confused? I am anxious for you,” Jillian Carter said with some displeasure. ”Mandy is going to be a stepmother; do you not care?”

”That’s her affair.” With that, James Carter used work as an excuse and hung up Jillian Carter’s call.

James Carter held the mobile phone and did not speak the entire way.

He said it was Mandy’s affair, but in the end, he still dialed that phone number he had saved in his mobile for so long but had never dialed out before.

Mandy’s phone number had changed, but after returning to the country, James Carter easily got hold of her mobile number.

However, James Carter saved it but never dialed it out.

He lacked the courage, and he also didn’t have the qualification.

When the buzzing sound came from the phone, and James Carter came back to his senses, the other party had already picked up, uttering a sound.

”Mandy,” James Carter cleared his throat and said, ”I heard from Jillian you’re getting married?”

A long silence came from Mandy’s side.

After several minutes, her voice finally came softly.

”Yes, so what, are you calling specifically to bless me?” Mandy asked in return.
