CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1904: Chapter 1912: But the One I Hate Even More

Although faced with a table full of dishes that she had cooked and tasted excellent, Jillian Carter didn’t have much appetite.

If Jane Sampson and James Carter were still here, she might have been able to eat a bit more. This scene, without even a supporting role, just her as the protagonist, felt meaningless however she acted it out.

If Joseph Shaw hadn’t told her that when acting, one must perform the whole set, Jillian Carter wouldn’t have come here alone tonight, she even thought about changing the flight to the afternoon to go home earlier.

When Jillian Carter was paying the bill, the waiter came in and saw so many dishes on the table, most of which seemed untouched, and asked, ”Would you like these packed to go?”

Jillian Carter paused her action of taking out the card, and with an angry glance, she lightly lifted her eyes and looked over, ”Do I look like someone who needs a takeout box?”

Then she slammed the card onto the tabletop, clearly irritated by the waiter’s extra question.

The waiter immediately didn’t dare to let out a breath, quickly took the card to proceed with the transaction, and after completing the bill, respectfully escorted Jillian Carter out of the private room door. Only after watching Jillian Carter go downstairs did he breathe a sigh of relief and turned to whisper to his colleague.

”Jillian Carter with her nose in the air, can she really be good friends with Jane Sampson? Seemed like she ordered a bunch of dishes tonight and got stood up, then took out her frustration on us waiters, truly lacks class.”

”Exactly, our city leader even packs leftovers when coming to eat with his child to instill a non-wastage habit. Can she possibly have more status than our city leader?” The colleague next to him sneered, ”I can’t stand people putting on airs like this. Little Jane couldn’t possibly be true friends with her.”

Jillian Carter didn’t know about the conversation of the two waiters upstairs.

She had already gone downstairs and unexpectedly met someone there.

”Mandy Forest.” Jillian Carter saw the person and directly walked over to her.

Mandy Forest had announced her retirement from acting long ago, but later, unable to refuse due to friendship, took on a guest appearance role and then truly shifted to behind the scenes, becoming a producer.

After Mandy Forest moved behind the scenes, media reporters initially kept chasing after her for news, but eventually realized that there was no valuable story to dig up and gave up their pursuit.

Jillian Carter quickly walked up and stood in front of Mandy Forest, ”It’s been a long time.”

When Jillian Carter spoke to Mandy Forest, she was smiling, but Mandy’s expression was somewhat cold. ”Is something wrong?” Mandy asked coldly.

”We’re old acquaintances, bumping into each other like this, why not sit down together, have a cup of coffee and catch up?” Jillian Carter suggested, ”You probably know my brother is also filming here recently, right? Why are you here? You wouldn’t be here to see my brother, would you?”

”Afraid I’d rekindle romance with your brother?” Mandy snorted, ”You worry for nothing. With you, Jillian Carter, not sparing efforts to cause trouble, I’d not be masochistic enough to go mess with the people from the Carter Family again.”

Mandy stood there, her posture graceful, ”Jillian Carter, I certainly hate you, but more so, your brother. So you don’t have to react defensively like a hedgehog who got its stuff seized, worried I’d take your brother away. If you really fear that much, then let me inform you, I’m getting married, so in the future, you can rest easy.”
