CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1714: Chapter 1722: You Sing

”Is this what you were sneaking at my study doorway all night wanting to say but didn’t get a chance to?” James Black didn’t deny it, what Jane Sampson said was indeed a puzzling issue, ”If you want to know, I’ll have someone check on the Chip Family.”

”Okay.” Jane Sampson nodded, not for Julie Sampton, but for Bright Sampton, so Jane Sampson still decided to get to the bottom of it for peace of mind.

James Black withdrew his arm from under Jane Sampson’s head, picked up his mobile phone, and sent a message to a friend who was still online on WhatsApp.

A few seconds later, they replied to him with a received.

”Just wait for the message.” James Black placed the mobile phone back on the bedhead cabinet, and with a hand, pulled Jane Sampson back into his arms, ”Sleep.”

”Wait a minute.” Jane Sampson shook her head, ”The Chip Family thing wasn’t what I forgot to mention just now. The thing I forgot just now—I just remembered it again now.”

This sounded like a tongue twister, and it took James Black a few seconds to understand it.

He hummed in response, ”Go ahead.”

After saying this, he suddenly noticed Jane Sampson’s expression had changed.

He was surprised to see a sneaky expression on her half-asleep face.

”I learned a new song today, shall I sing it to you?” Jane Sampson’s eyes were sparkling as she looked at James Black.

”...” James Black thought for a moment and decided to go with his gut. He pressed Jane Sampson’s head against his chest, ”Don’t want to hear, sleep.”

”Ah! Ah! Ah!” Jane Sampson didn’t expect this answer from James Black, she pushed him away with one hand and fiercely shouted at him, ”You’re not allowed to not listen! I’ll ask you again, will you listen or not?”

Seeing Jane Sampson on the verge of exploding, he knew he had no other choice but to listen.

”Go ahead and sing.” James Black thought of the Smurfs’ children’s song that Jane Sampson had altered beyond recognition, and he braced himself.

Stifling it all night, now she’s this tired and still wants to sing it to him, it couldn’t be anything normal.

”That’s more like it.” Jane Sampson’s gaze shifted, casting a glance at the expressionless James Black. She hummed a bit, cleared her throat, and started singing cheerfully.

”I want potato chips,

want biscuits,

want double-layer milk curd,

just asking if you’ll buy them for me,

hmph!

Will you buy them for me!

I want jelly,

want seaweed,

want chocolate,

if you don’t buy I’ll get mad,

if you don’t buy I’ll get mad!”

”....” In Jane Sampson’s singing voice, while she shook his arm, James Black wasn’t surprised at all.

This, how can there be such a song in this world?

”Does it sound good? Do you know what I’m singing about? Do you want me to sing it again for you?”

Looking at Jane Sampson’s eyes shining at him, James Black’s temple was really throbbing.

James Black took a deep breath and asked, ”Did you make this up?”

”No, I learned it on the internet, I think it’s nice!” Jane Sampson, ”Don’t you think this song is very pleasant?”

”Not at all.” James Black bluntly gave his opinion, then reached directly to cover Jane Sampson’s eyes, urging her, ”Sleep.”

Jane Sampson brushed away the palm covering her eyes, and holding onto James Black’s arm, started to act coquettishly while humming the song she just sang, repeating it over and over.

James Black’s eyelids twitched several times before he simply closed his eyes and ignored her.

However, after a while, a pair of small hands touched his eyes, and then two warm fingertips pried open his eyelids, followed by Jane Sampson’s gleeful singing in his ear.
