CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1706: Chapter 1714: 50 million

”This time the matter has blown up so much, as long as the Sampton Family reports it to the police, David Chip cannot escape. No matter how much money or hard connections the Chip Family has, as long as the Sampton Family’s attitude doesn’t change, David Chip is definitely going to prison. No one would dare to take such a huge risk and face the scrutiny of the entire internet realm to shield David Chip.” Peter Gingery chuckled as he said this, ”It’s well deserved.”

After eating, Peter Gingery left rubbing his belly. James Black glanced at Peter Gingery and finally understood why Peter Gingery and Jane Sampson could get along so well from childhood till now.

Because they both have the same traits.

James Black didn’t let Jane Sampson touch the dishwashing work. He was busy at the kitchen sink while Jane Sampson stood next to him watching him, occasionally giggling to herself, without anyone knowing what she was laughing about.

However, apparently, she was in a good mood.

James Black took Jane Sampson by the hand and led her out of the kitchen after tidying up. Just as he was about to ask what she was laughing about in the kitchen, Jane Sampson’s mobile phone in the living room suddenly rang.

James Black saw her run to pick up the phone, and then he went into the bedroom to get ready for a bath.

The call was from Bright Sampton, and Jane Sampson answered it immediately.

”Sister, have you eaten?” Bright Sampton asked softly.

”I have, what about you? Where are you now? Have you returned to the base?” Jane Sampson asked.

”Not yet, I’m at the Planet Police Station. After Sister Tin called me out from the base, I first went to the hospital, told mom about reporting to the police, and then I came straight to the police station to file a report. The police caught the hotel staff trying to board a train at the train station.”

Bright Sampton frowned, ”But they still couldn’t get in touch with David Chip. The police went to the Chip Corporation but didn’t find him there, then went to the Chip Family home, and their people said they hadn’t seen David Chip all day and didn’t know where he was, unwilling to reveal his whereabouts.”

”Did the police check at the Immigration Office? Could it be that David Chip immediately fled abroad as soon as the incident occurred?” Jane Sampson’s first guess was that the Chip Family had sent David Chip abroad to hide.

”Checked, records show David Chip did not leave the country today, nor does he have any records of buying flight tickets, train tickets, or car tickets, but it doesn’t rule out the possibility that he left Capital Province using someone else’s identity,” Bright Sampton said, ”After filing the police report, the Chip Family even called me to withdraw the case, saying that if I did, they would compensate Julie Sampton 50 million for emotional distress, but I hung up on them.”

Upon hearing this, Jane Sampson sneered, ”50 million, indeed, they are willing to give.”

Bright Sampton sighed, feeling utterly helpless, ”Sister, right now the Chip Family is not cooperating, so the police can’t do anything. So, I’m planning to post it on twitter, to escalate the matter further, exposing the Chip Family’s harboring behavior and refusal to cooperate with the police for arrest, asking the netizens to help find him.”

”Alright, you post it, and I’ll share it after,” Jane Sampson said, ”The Chip Family can hide him, but unless David Chip never leaves his hiding place for a lifetime, there’s too many netizens, someone will eventually find him.”

”Sister, thank you,” Bright Sampton felt a warmth in his heart, ”Thanks for asking Sister Tin to go find me at the base and inform me about this matter. When I got there, Julie Sampton hadn’t even woken up yet, and mom was still considering whether to report to the police after she woke up. Sometimes, I really don’t know what mom is thinking.”

Bright Sampton was almost disappointed at Mother Sampton when he heard those words in the hospital, for the first time, he had the thought that his mother was such a foolish person.
