CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1448: Chapter 1456 I Don’t Want to Listen

”Miss Sampton, my brother lived in pain, and later, my mother suffered greatly as well,” Rachel Miller stopped Jane Sampson who was about to leave, ”Let me tell you about my father’s recent situation.”

”I don’t want to hear it.” Jane Sampson coldly refused.

”Miss Sampton, I’m sorry, just give me five more minutes, just five minutes,” Rachel Miller’s voice was almost pleading.

At this moment, Jane Sampson truly despised herself for having a soft heart, seeing General Manager Miller so humbly begging her, yet Jane Sampson’s feet felt as if they were rooted to the spot, unable to move.

Rachel Miller spoke of his brother’s and his mother’s suffering, but what Jane Sampson truly heard was Rachel Miller’s own pain.

”My father is also seriously ill, with the same disease as my brother, it’s a hereditary family illness, and I don’t know when it might be my turn,” Rachel Miller let out a long sigh, ”The outside world doesn’t know about it now, because we’re afraid that if the news gets out, it could affect the company.”

”Although Dad hasn’t said it, I know, he wants to see his other son before he dies, to owe him an apology on behalf of our family,” Rachel Miller said, ”I also want to ask Mr. Black, if it’s possible to go see my big brother, to tell him that you don’t hold a grudge against him. That way, my big brother, if he knows in the afterlife, might also rest in peace.”

Jane Sampson’s soft heart for Rachel Miller crumbled in an instant.

Her voice was as cold as ice.

”Rachel Miller, don’t you think your request is quite unreasonable?” Jane Sampson directly swatted away Rachel Miller’s hand, ”I’m sorry, but I won’t relay even half a word for you! And don’t think too highly of yourselves; just because you want to apologize, does it mean others must eagerly run up to listen and then cheerily oblige, saying it’s okay and forgive you? There is no such cheap deal in the world!”

Jane Sampson pushed Rachel Miller away, ”Since they did what they did, they should bear the consequences. There’s no reason to turn around and expect the victim to do something about it. And James Black is under no obligation to fulfill your so-called acknowledgement of wrongdoing!”

After saying this, Jane Sampson left the kitchen with a cold face.

Jane Sampson was genuinely infuriated by Rachel Miller’s request. After leaving the kitchen, she went straight to the courtyard to stand and let the cold wind blow, trying to calm the violent temper inside her.

The Miller Family was truly exasperating.

If she had known that Rachel Miller had approached and helped her with ulterior motives, she would have rather been brought down by the netizens, than to have accepted his help.

After the people inside the house had decided, Nina Rice went to find someone to help buy ingredients and deliver them. Nina was the first to notice Jane Sampson was not inside the room, so she searched around and found Jane standing in the courtyard in the cold wind and went out to her.

”What’s wrong?” Nina Rice nudged Jane Sampson’s shoulder, ”Feeling upset? Just now I saw Rachel Miller also went to the kitchen to find you, what did he say to make you angry?”

”Some infuriating private matters, better left unmentioned,” Jane Sampson waved her hand, ”Have you all finished inside? Is the draw done?”

”All set,” Nina nodded, ”Jasmine Seven and Rachel Miller are in a group, Oscar Wilson and the one who struggled with naming are in a group, and I, quite coincidentally, am paired with Peter Gingery.”

After listening to the entire discussion, Jane Sampson burst into laughter, ”So Kane Forest is on his own in one group? Ha! Has President Forest ever set foot in a kitchen as well-grown as he is?”

Just as Jane Sampson finished speaking, Kane Forest’s voice suddenly came from behind her.

”Yes.” A single word, replied with firm assurance.
