Chapter 1412: Chapter 1420: A Bit Nervous

Jane Sampson doesn’t carry the usual airs of large family and clans, but has the approachability of a little girl from the neighboring house.

”Mr. Carter, are you nervous?” As Jane Sampson entered backstage waiting for her arrangement, she started to feel a bit nervous, her palms sweating as she sat on a chair.

”Not nervous.” James Carter, surprised, noticed Jane’s unease and asked in a lowered voice, ”Are you very nervous?”

James Carter was surprised because, having known Jane for so long, he had never seen a nervous expression on her face. Jane had been participating in various international competitions since childhood, experienced all sorts of grand scenes; performing should have been common practice for her.

”A little bit.” Jane Sampson raised her hand and gestured a little bit, ”Just a little bit.”

”Just treat it like our usual performances.” James Carter smiled, ”Your singing is very stable, and our show isn’t that complex. Put your mind at ease. If you really get nervous, during the evening’s singing on stage, either turn around and look at me or just hold the microphone and sing with your eyes closed.”

The evening’s performance for James Carter and Jane Sampson involved singing and playing instruments, no need for energetic jumping, and the song was a ballad. Thus, even if Jane didn’t look at the audience throughout the performance, as long as she sang well and conveyed the right emotions, nobody would feel anything was amiss, after all, everyone has their own singing habits.

”Okay!” Jane Sampson nodded, ”Although I’m quite nervous, I’m also looking forward to it. Mr. Carter, do you know how much I want to thank you right now?”

Jane Sampson looked up sincerely at James Carter standing by her side, ”If it weren’t for you, I don’t know how long it might have taken me to get the chance to perform at the Spring Festival Gala.”

”Even without me, you would make it with your excellence, at most by next year,” James Carter smiled, ”The Spring Festival Gala has been reformed in recent years. With your popularity and talent, even without me, you could make it on your own next year.”

James Carter spoke the truth. Strictly speaking, Jane Sampson’s works aren’t very numerous, but her popularity is incredibly high. Half a month ago on twitter, in the internet realm’s voting for best popular female star, Jane Sampson, as a newcomer with less than a year since her debut, ranked fifth on the list.

This ranking was genuinely based on fan voting, and it’s safe to say that Jane Sampson is the star among the top ten whose debut is most recent.

Although she did not make it to the top three, being in the top five is a dazzling achievement for a newcomer.

Therefore, James Carter clearly sees that, with Jane’s ability, if not this year at the Spring Festival Gala, she would definitely make it next year.

Besides, behind Jane Sampson, there should additionally be the support of her family and clans.

Today, the whole TV station was busy all day long; after lunch, Jane Sampson even had some rare time to rest.

To not delay the evening performance, Jane Sampson did not go far, instead she rented a room in the hotel next to the station, and spent the afternoon there taking a brief nap.

As the lights began to illuminate and each household was busy enjoying a warm dinner, Jane Sampson and others were at the station busy with makeup, some had even made their preparations backstage.

When Old Master Black arrived, he didn’t come backstage to find Jane Sampson but sent her a WhatsAPP message, cheering her on and telling her not to be nervous.

Seeing the message, Jane Sampson sent Old Master Black a big smiling face.
