CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1434: Chapter 1442: Looking for Me for Something

”Yes, he was my university senior. By the time I entered university, he had already graduated for several years,” James Carter chuckled helplessly. ”However, when I was in university, my roommate dragged me to help out at the drama club. At that time, he had just started his career not long ago, and he came to our school to scout actors. When he arrived, I happened to be rehearsing with some club members, and he set his eyes on me. He pestered me for a long time, but I didn’t agree.”

Speaking of this, James Carter started laughing softly, ”But it’s true that familiarity breeds fondness. The senior is a very creative and talented person. Later on, after I made my debut, we cooperated a few times. Some of my MVs are his work, very story-driven, it’s his unique style. This script he has been working on, he’s been grinding me about it for several months, but I have continuously refused.”

Then last night, because of a bet, James Carter somehow got tricked into joining the film crew.

”Right, now the rumors about the two of us are all over the internet, blazing wild. Did your husband see it? Did he get angry?” James Carter asked. ”I rushed back overnight last night, hurried all the way. When I got home, I just rested. I slept in late today and by the time I heard the news, both our studios had already communicated with my university senior.”

James Carter hurriedly added, afraid that Jane Sampson might misunderstand his words, ”If this topic will impact your personal life, I’ll speak with the senior and then clarify it.”

James Carter was truly afraid that Jane Sampson would find it difficult to explain the situation at home, believing that even if she doesn’t contact him now, he would still call Jane when he had free time.

Yesterday morning, James Carter saw Jane Sampson greeting a senior in team uniform, and judging by the rank insignia, that senior seemed like quite a notable figure.

So James Carter was worried that Jane Sampson would have a hard time explaining and justifying things to her husband’s family.

”It’s nothing.” Jane Sampson glanced at James Black and flashed a grin, ”Sister Tin said that I just can’t make my married status public recently, but it’s fine, I’ve explained it many times, but no one believes me anyway, so there’s no difference. Besides, we’re also contributing to the film crew, right? Once filming starts, I’ll ask the director for extra chicken legs for us!”

Jane Sampson’s voice was light and cheerful, and hearing no discomfort, James Carter felt at ease.

After the two talked for a while on the phone, they hung up. As James Carter was about to leave the bedroom, he heard a knock at the door, it was his father knocking from outside.

”Dad,” James Carter opened the door and invited Father Carter into the bedroom, ”Is there something you need?”

”Yes,” Father Carter nodded, ”About the match-making that your uncles and aunts want to do for you, just brush it off, we know what they are all thinking. All that talk about matches in social and economic status, as if the Carter family is vying for a throne, hmph!”

Knowing his father’s temperament, James Carter smiled and hummed in acknowledgment.

”Who were you talking to just now? A girlfriend?” Father Carter asked casually before adding, ”If you have a girlfriend and it’s serious, bring her home for us to meet. Your mother and I agree, we don’t pursue matching social and economic status, as long as the girl deserves you and you like her. You’re not getting any younger, don’t say you’re not in a hurry.”

”Dad...” James Carter sighed and shook his head, ”I was just talking to Jane Sampson about some business.”

Even if Father Carter isn’t on Twitter, he would have known about the big fuss on the internet by now, and just now downstairs, many relatives had mentioned Jane Sampson, advising James Carter, insisting that a wife must match in social and economic status, and how terrible these actors could be.
