CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 893: Chapter 901: Not Engaging in Proper Business

”Is that so?” Bright Sampton seemed a bit smug, ”Sister, don’t worry, I know exactly what I’m doing.”

Seeing that Bright Sampton said so much and was indeed making well-planned moves in this matter, Jane Sampton did not say anything more.

”Alright, then I won’t try to persuade you anymore,” Jane Sampton said.

Just as Bright Sampton had said himself, he was of age now, not a little child anymore. He had the right to make his own choices, and moreover, he had the ability to independently think and analyze right from wrong.

”It’s my sister who understands me.” Bright Sampton happily linked arms with Jane Sampton as they walked back into the house, saying on the way, ”There’s nothing to worry about here; you go back to the guard team. Otherwise, when you start filming the new play, you won’t have time to be with your brother-in-law.”

”You sure do worry about a lot,” Jane Sampton teased with a laugh.

The two siblings returned home amidst laughter and jokes. Seeing this, Mother Sampton felt relieved and promptly asked, ”How did it go, Jane? Has Bright agreed to go back to school and attend classes?”

Mother Sampton truly believed that Jane Sampton’s words would have an effect on Bright, expecting that as long as Jane said so, Bright would certainly listen.

But to her surprise, Jane Sampton shook her head, then told them in a steady voice, ”Dad, Mom, Bright is an adult. Let him do what he wants. Besides, the times are different now. E-sports is a competitive career too, not what you say about being irresponsible. E-sports can also bring honor to our country.”

”Haha, Jane Sampton, you sure make it sound easy,” Julie Sampton, who was sitting on the sofa eating fruits, sneered, ”Playing games isn’t irresponsible? Then tell me, can you play games for a lifetime? And talking about winning glory for the country, you probably don’t even believe that yourself, do you?”

As she spoke, Julie stood up and faced Jane, sneering again, ”I think you’d be glad if Bright Sampton didn’t study, glad if he had no ambition. Our house has only one boy, Bright Sampton. This family business will be handed down to him in the future. Last time, our grandparents said so much. You must hate all of us, don’t you? You hate me, and daddy and mommy, so you want to destroy this family, right?”

”If it wasn’t you who said it, I would never have known that someone’s mind could be so narrow,” Jane Sampton stood there retorting sarcastically, ”Not everyone in the world is as selfish and self-centered as you, Julie Sampton.”

”I’m selfish? And you, Jane Sampton, are selfless?” Julie said as if she heard something amusing, ”Jane Sampton, it wouldn’t be you who instigated Bright Sampton to play games, would it? Otherwise, why would Bright Sampton suddenly quit school without telling dad and mom? He never even mentioned it before.”

Jane Sampton was too lazy to waste words with Julie Sampton; when someone is narrow-minded, they see everything in a pessimistic light.

”Dad,” Jane Sampton called out to Father Sampton, then turned to look at Mother Sampton, ”Mom, I won’t be persuading Bright anymore, so you should not expect me to say anything to him either.”

Mother Sampton’s face fell with disappointment. She had asked Jane Sampton to come back to talk to Bright Sampton, but she ended up bringing someone home who supported Bright’s unruliness.

”Mom, what’s there to be sad about? I guessed this a long time ago,” Julie Sampton’s voice was soft, laughing, ”Even if she, Jane Sampton, bears our family name, an outsider is an outsider. How could she possibly work with our family in unison?”
