CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 851: Chapter 859 What’s Going On

James Black answered the phone rather swiftly, immediately thinking that something must have happened to Jane Sampson, or that there might have been some changes to her recent schedule, which was why Rock Bell was specially calling to inform him.

”Are you free to talk now?” Rock Bell wasn’t quite sure about the nature of James’s work in the guard team because the matter she wanted to discuss would take a considerable amount of time. Therefore, before speaking, she specifically asked if James had enough time to listen.

”Go ahead,” said James.

Over the phone, Rock Bell could hear what sounded like the closing of a folder. After hearing James’s response, she slowly said, ”You know your wife went for an audition today, right?”

”Yes, I know,” James nodded. He was aware of every film crew Jane Sampson auditioned for because through Rock Bell’s connections, the script was obtained for Jane in advance. Consequently, Jane spent the past few days at home, often studying the script for the female supporting role she was auditioning for. Whenever she came across parts she didn’t understand or wasn’t sure about, she would also call her former acting teacher for advice.

”Did she pass the audition?” James never doubted that Jane would secure the role. In his view, Jane was hardworking and truly outstanding. Hence, it should be almost guaranteed for Jane to get the role.

Securing the role would naturally lead to changes in Jane’s subsequent schedule, so James assumed that Rock Bell wanted to inform him that Jane would be very busy later on.

James said, ”I have just one requirement, my bottom line, that she gets at least one day a month to spend the night at home.”

”She went to the other company’s audition room, and she didn’t even get through the main gate before being driven out, and there are threats to ban her,” said Rock Bell.

Upon hearing this, James’s eyebrows furrowed, ”What happened?”

His wife was driven out? And there were threats of a ban against her?

”The cause of this incident is related to you. You said you wouldn’t help Jane, but you also said you wouldn’t hinder her. So, you need to solve the problem you’ve caused,” Rock Bell’s words were quite shameless.

Without waiting for James to respond, Rock Bell continued, ”Amber Edwards, one of the investors of the film, took a fancy to the hairpin you gave to your wife and wanted to force a sale. When your wife refused to sell, she threatened to ban her, telling your wife to think it over and then get back to her.”

”Amber Edwards?” James thought for a moment, ”When did Capital Province get such a character?”

It was unheard of, or perhaps because he hadn’t been active in that circle for a long time, he knew fewer people there?

”It’s normal that you don’t know. If not for this incident, I wouldn’t know about her either. She just came from the southland. The heiress of the current chairman of Francis Group. Indeed, she has something to be proud of,” Rock Bell said. ”After all, Francis Group is a domestic Real Estate Group that’s quite prominent, and I heard they are getting ready to go public.”

Hearing the name Amber Edwards, James couldn’t recall who she was, but as soon as he heard the name Francis Group, he immediately remembered her.

That day at the auction venue, it was Amber Edwards who entangled him and Alexander Forest for quite a long time.

So today, when Jane Sampson went to audition with the hairpin he gave her, she happened to encounter Amber Edwards. This led to Amber Edwards wanting to forcibly buy Jane’s hairpin, which escalated to her threatening to ban Jane?
