CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 865: Chapter 873 Miss Edwards, Please Do As You Wish

Although it’s common for investors to insert people into a film crew, for a director like himself, if the person inserted is like Jane Sampson, he was actually very welcoming.

Watching Jane’s face light up with joy, Director Chip had initially wanted to inquire about her relationship with the Francis Group, but upon seeing her unabashedly joyful smile, he simply couldn’t bring himself to ask the question.

Having been in this circle for a long time, he had met many people, all of whom wore masks. Suddenly seeing someone who could smile so genuinely, Director Chip really didn’t feel right about probing any further.

”Alright then, I won’t disturb the director’s work any longer, I’ll be heading back now,” said Jane, apologizing and exchanging a few pleasantries with Director Chip before opening the door to leave.

However, unexpectedly, as she opened the door and hadn’t yet stepped out, she was nearly bumped into by someone on the outside trying to push the door open.

As fate would have it, and quite coincidentally, it was Amber Edwards.

When Amber saw Jane, she snorted and, without offering an apology, walked straight past her and into the room.

Jane had no intention of troubling Amber, especially since the director had already declared that the role was hers, Jane Sampson’s, so she confidently closed the door and left.

Jane might not have known how James Black managed it, but that guy, who said he wouldn’t help her, actually did help her this time.

After Jane left, Amber entered and went straight to Director Chip with a cold face, saying, ”Director, based on what I saw on your Twitter, is it confirmed that this drama is going with Jane Sampson?”

”Yes.” Director Chip felt agitated seeing Amber again and muttered to himself how the daughter of a respectable family could have such a bandit-like character.

It’s just a hairpin. Is it really necessary to cause such a big fuss over a hairpin?

”Director, I’ve said it before, as long as I, Amber Edwards, am involved, Jane Sampson better not even think about getting any role in this crew, not even as an extra! Are you ready to disregard the opinion of this investor? If Director Chip you are set on displeasing me, then I will take back the funds,” Amber declared firmly.

Having spoken, Amber Edwards stood there with an air of arrogance, waiting for Director Chip to change his statement, inwardly cursing Jane and wondering how she could have convinced Director Chip to agree to her terms.

If it were just those petty internet attacks, a mature director wouldn’t be swayed by netizens.

Because of the video this morning, she didn’t even dare to enable comments on her Twitter now.

If Jane truly gets selected for the female supporting role in this drama, then it would be like getting slapped in the face in front of all the netizens.

Amber would not allow such a thing to happen.

Hearing Amber’s threat, Director Chip’s expression did not show the slightest change.

”Miss Edwards, please feel free to do as you please. I believe the Francis Group would be quite willing to increase their investment,” Director Chip said, then gestured for Amber to leave without giving her any more attention, his face cold as he watched her.

Honestly, the funds Amber provided were not insignificant, hence Director Chip had earlier planned to give her face, considering the Francis Group behind her.

After all, Director Chip had no personal connection with Jane and did not know her—it wouldn’t hurt to make a good impression with Amber, as without Jane, there were plenty of others who could play the female supporting role.
