CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 689: Chapter 697: What a Coincidence

On such a night, James Black suddenly understood what it felt like to embrace the best of the entire world within his heart.

It turned out that sometimes one person really can represent the whole world.

She, who even in sleep hated to be less than a hundred thousand miles away from him before, had now grown accustomed to falling asleep in his arms.

Just like James Black, who had been used to sleeping alone in a bed for over twenty years and had now grown used to having Jane Sampson by his side.

Peaceful times were just like this.

A double bed for two people, huddled together in sleep with half the bed still free.

Because she went to bed early last night, Jane Sampson woke up the next morning without the need for an alarm clock, only to feel a dull pain in her belly as she woke. She threw off the quilt and rushed straight into the restroom, and sure enough, her menstruation had come.

James Black, in the living room, heard the commotion and when he returned to the bedroom with the breakfast he had bought, he saw Jane Sampson rubbing her belly as she came out of the restroom.

”Does your belly hurt?” James Black frowned as he approached her, and his large, warm palm covered the back of her hand directly.

”It’s okay, just a little bit, just feels bloated,” Jane shook her head.

Only then did James Black’s heart settle. If Jane’s belly really hurt, he was prepared to change his flight ticket and go tomorrow.

”I’ve bought breakfast, and after eating, you can lie down for a while longer,” James suggested. ”Go wash up first.”

Jane made a sound of agreement, turned around, and walked back into the restroom.

James stood in the doorway, watching her for a while, making sure Jane wasn’t trying to act tough before he relaxed and went to finish packing her remaining luggage.

Since they weren’t in a rush today, their flight was scheduled for 10:30. When the two of them arrived at the airport VIP lounge, it was only 9:40.

It was then that James Black took Jane Sampson’s hand and led her to an empty seat, and someone in front called out to him.

”James Black!”

Alexander Forest was just two seats in front of James, and he spotted James entering through the main gate.

”What a coincidence, where are you heading?” Alexander bustled over to James, glancing at the girl with a mask and sunglasses that James was holding hands with, then lowered his voice, ”Is that little Jane?”

”Yes,” Jane nodded her head, then turned to look at the person behind Alexander, and took the initiative to offer a greeting, ”President Forest.”

”My cousin, Kane Forest. I believe you two have met,” said Alexander. ”We just happen to have business in Smytheton. What about you guys?”

”What a coincidence, we’re also going to Smytheton. James is accompanying me to Director John Young’s movie premiere,” Jane immediately responded with a smile.

”It seems we really are a coincidence,” Alexander remarked, then glanced at James again, followed by a gaze at James’s hand that was still holding Jane’s without letting go, and then chuckled, ”You two have a tight bond as husband and wife, huh? Gotta accompany your wife even out the door?”

”Got a problem with it?” James shot back, and then addressed the approaching attendant, ”Please, bring me a cup of warm boiled water.”

”No complaints, no complaints. I wouldn’t dare have an issue with you,” Alexander touched his nose, thinking to himself that James Black was such a killjoy, not even a hint of a sense of humor when teased.

”John Young’s premiere is still two days away, so you’re going early? You’re going to spend quite a few days in Smytheton then. I also have an invitation to the premiere, so we could go together; it’s nice to have company,” Alexander, a fellow insider in the circle, naturally had the invitation in his possession.
