CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 669: Chapter 677: What If It’s True

Julie Sampton didn’t call Mother Sampton to hear her say these things, so when she heard her mother laughing so happily, she felt a bit stifled in her heart.

”Mom, what’s so good about it? What’s so good about Jane Sampson being pregnant?” Julie’s tone was somewhat confrontational.

”Those shares in your hands were supposed to go back to Jane, but Jane didn’t want them, and dad was so worried about it. Didn’t we finally manage to calm dad down? Now that Jane is pregnant, whether she has a son or a daughter, if the Old Master of the Black Family gives her some kind of reward, do you think dad could go without giving something as a gesture? And if dad gives, what can he give? It’s still your shares, mom. If those shares go to her child this time, we’ll never get them back! Mom, that was what you promised to leave to me. Why should it go to Jane Sampson and her child?”

By the end, Julie was almost crying out of frustration, ”Why is Jane Sampson so lucky! I am the daughter of my dad and mom, but it was her who grew up by your side, indulged with your love, and what about me? Mom, you promised me, everything that’s yours would be left to me. So why should Jane Sampson take it?”

”But she is pregnant now, mom can’t exactly stop her from being pregnant. Besides, she’s been married for so many years, it’s time for her to have a child. How can a woman get by without a child to rely on? If James finds a younger and more beautiful woman later on and dates her outdoors, and if Jane has no child, what will you let Jane do in her old age?” Mother Sampton was also troubled.

To be honest, Mother Sampton was genuinely happy about Jane’s pregnancy, happy for Jane.

However, upon hearing Julie’s words, Mother Sampton felt pained again. Julie was not wrong. Given Jane’s current status, her pregnancy, whether boy or girl, would definitely mean a lot of gifts from Elder Black. Then, as the grandparents, not giving something in response would seem inappropriate.

But Mother Sampton also thought Julie had a point. With her husband’s temperament, he would surely give away company shares directly, as a full-moon gift for the child.

In that case, there would be less left for Julie.

It meant taking what was Julie’s to give to Jane Sampson’s child.

”Mom, I’m now suspecting, can you help me by probing Jane and asking her if she’s really okay?” Julie said tearfully, ”I just sent her a text message, and she snapped at me, didn’t even answer my question. If you ask, she’ll definitely tell you.”

”All right, all right, I’ll ask her. Don’t cry anymore, it breaks your mother’s heart,” Mother Sampton was immediately flustered and truly pained when she heard her daughter cry, ”What if Jane is really pregnant?”

”She better not be pregnant!” Julie said through gritted teeth, ”Mom, call her now! No! Wait! Mom, call Bright Sampton and tell him that Jane is pregnant. Bright Sampton will call her because they are very close. She might lie to you, but she definitely won’t lie to Bright Sampton.”

”Okay, I’ll do as you say, I’ll call Bright,” Mother Sampton, not wanting her daughter to cry, agreed without further thought.

In the northern restaurant, after sitting down, as soon as the waiter brought over the menu, Jane Sampson quickly snatched it away, not letting James even touch it.
