CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 681: Chapter 689: Interviewing You

”Jane, you’re leaving in two days to attend Director John Young’s new drama premiere, aren’t you? It’s quite a coincidence, I just got a job to visit the film crew, and part of my assignment is to interview you and James Carter.” Charlotte Miller’s voice was filled with surprise, ”I really didn’t expect that, the theme song of the new drama that’s leading in the online polls and most anticipated is actually a collaboration between you and James Carter.”

Originally, after recording the theme song, the initial publicity plan was to release the theme song first.

However, later on, John Young and James Carter discussed and decided to change the plan temporarily, planning to delay the internet publicity until after the premiere. The reason was to give everyone attending the premiere a mental punch and maintain enough mystery.

”I haven’t received any news about the interview yet,” said Jane Sampson. ”If that’s the case, then it seems we’ll be seeing each other again very soon.”

”Yes, both sides have agreed to conduct the interview in advance, and then broadcast the interview on the same day as the premiere.” Charlotte Miller’s voice held a hint of envy, ”I really want to interview you right now. As a newcomer, what it feels like to collaborate with a senior like James Carter.”

However, Charlotte Miller didn’t really wait for Jane Sampson’s reply; she immediately continued, ”Then we’ll meet again in two days. I’m calling you because I was happy to hear this news, happy that we’ll be able to meet again soon.”

James Black waited for Jane Sampson for a few seconds, seeing that she wasn’t going to finish her phone call anytime soon, he reached out with his other hand and took the seatbelt from her and fastened it for her, then started the car and drove out of the underground parking garage.

Jane Sampson listened to Charlotte Miller’s eager tone and also said a few soothing words. They chatted for a few minutes before Charlotte Miller said she had other things to do and hung up the phone.

Holding her mobile phone, Jane Sampson sighed helplessly.

Actually, even when they were with the guard team, Jane Sampson and Charlotte Miller weren’t particularly close. They exchanged phone numbers mainly for appearances. Jane’s relationship with Charlotte wasn’t even as good as with Hibiscus Wood.

Jane got along better with Mair Williams because of their compatible personalities. She felt more comfortable around Mair, so she only exchanged WhatsAPP accounts with her.

Perhaps it was because she was new to this circle, so Jane Sampson was initially a bit uncomfortable with someone as smooth and socially adept as Charlotte Miller.

But Jane also knew that she would have to get used to it eventually and even pander to this kind of person.

After all, this is a type of person, not just one person. It’s not the number of a small group, but the quantity of a category.

The two arrived at the Black Residence before six o’clock. Great General had sharp ears, as if he could recognize the sound of James Black’s car. Just as the car had entered the courtyard, Great General ran out from behind the patio window like crazy, then leaned on the now stable car, wagging his tail and barking excitedly at Jane in the co-pilot seat.

Jane took off her mask and other obstructive stuff and threw it on the seat, then opened the car door and patted her hands towards the Great General, ”Great General, come here.”

Hearing Jane call him, Great General immediately pounced towards her, his tongue constantly licking her hand as if he was joyously about to take flight.

Chapter 690 Not Allowed to Drink

”Since Old Sir mentioned your names to James Black on the phone, Great General has been lying in front of the patio window eagerly watching, finally looking forward to your return,” Brooke Black stood at the doorway and smiled at them, ”The meals are almost ready, hurry inside and wash your hands for the meal.”

”Alright!” Jane responded, then called to the Great General to get off her and led the way with Great General following her into the house.

So, by the time James Black parked the car and got out, his wife had already disappeared with the Great General.

As James entered, he overheard Brooke Black chatting with Jane Sampson about his current vacation.

”Old Sir thought someone was fooling him when he heard James took a long leave voluntarily. Peter Gingery mentioned that James accompanied you to visit patients today?” Aunt Black was pouring Jane a cup of juice and was about to hand it to her when James suddenly approached, touched the cup and directly stated, ”Don’t drink.”

Jane withdrew her hand that was about to accept the drink and pouted, ”I’ll go to the kitchen for some boiling water.”

Old Master Black was in the kitchen at that time. Seeing Jane looking for water, he turned and said, ”Didn’t your aunt just give you some juice?”

”James won’t let me drink it,” Jane stuck out her tongue, then obediently poured herself some warm boiled water. She was about to look for something to complain to Old Sir about when she suddenly noticed James standing at the kitchen door, which made her neck flinch in surprise.

”Indeed, it’s not good for girls to drink too much cold stuff,” Old Master Black agreed on this point.

Having poured the water, Jane followed Old Master Black out of the kitchen. As she passed by James, she proactively bumped the water cup against the back of his hand and said in a small voice, ”Feel it, it’s warm.”

James hummed in response, rubbed Jane’s head with his hand, and then led her towards the dining hall.

Peter Gingery did not return, Uncle Black had a social engagement in the evening, so there were only four people at dinner.

During the meal, Old Master Black asked James about his several days off and what he planned to do. Upon hearing that James wanted to accompany Jane to Smytheton, both Old Master Black and Aunt Black looked slightly surprised.

James had no intention of explaining; he simply reached out and put a braised chicken wing on Jane’s bowl with his chopsticks, then continued to eat with an indifferent expression.

Old Master Black and Aunt Black could say they were quite shocked by James putting a chicken wing on Jane’s bowl.

”Very good, very good,” Old Sir took half a day to recover and said these words, and after saying so, his face was creased with smiles.

It wasn’t clear whether he was praising James for knowing how to cater to his wife’s eating or for knowing to accompany her outdoors. Dinner had ended early, so by the time they were done, it was just seven o’clock, and it was only just getting dark outside this season.

Jane and James weren’t in a hurry to go back. James was brewing tea for Old Master Black, and as the three of them discussed topics of no interest to Jane, she sat playing with her mobile phone.

In Jane’s WhatsAPP friends list, James was in a separate group.

The group’s name was Bastard Black.

Exiting WhatsAPP and glancing at WhatsAPP, Jane was stunned when she inadvertently saw the group named Bastard Black showed zero friends? This afternoon on the way back, it still showed one, so why did it suddenly change to zero?
