CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 310: Chapter 318: You’re in Good Luck

On the contrary, a web drama that manages to cast a newcomer like Jane Sampson in the female supporting role is quite a find. When Rock Bell got the script, he asked around and found that both the male and female leads got their parts through special connections. He specifically watched some of their performances together and frankly, their acting skills made Rock Bell feel embarrassed.

Under such circumstances, if Jane entered this film crew, with her acting skills, she could easily outshine those two. Once the show aired, Jane would undoubtedly eclipse the male and female leads.

But it would be useless.

If Jane were the only standout in the drama, she wouldn’t be able to advance on her own, and this show wouldn’t add anything noteworthy to her professional career.

Rock Bell doesn’t want Jane to just stand out; on the contrary, his priority for her is to learn and to accumulate (experience).

”Alright, since you’ve made your decision now, take this script back and study it well,” Rock Bell said.

”I don’t need to audition and it’s already decided?” Jane was astonished.

”No need, you’re lucky. Director Wilson happened to pass by your crew while you were filming at the film and TV base. He arrived exactly when you were shooting that short segment, thought you were good, and gave you the role,” Rock Bell explained, and the luck he mentioned was certainly not just talk.

Jane’s majority of scenes were in the small town, but she had a brief segment at the film and TV base that took only half a day to shoot. It was during that half day that Director Wilson happened to see her. Her impressive performance caught Director Wilson’s attention and he offered her the role.

So, in this circle, hard work alone sometimes really doesn’t cut it—luck is also incredibly important, which is why many people within the industry are highly superstitious.

”Oh, there’s also a set of documents I mentioned to you on the phone just now that you need to sign,” Rock Bell called Jane over to his office desk.

Jane gave an ”Oh” and stood up, secretly relieved to see that James Black didn’t seem to want to follow her.

Rock Bell would look out for Jane when it came to contracts, and since the company had a Legal Department, all contracts would first go through there, so Jane didn’t scrutinize them too closely and just signed her name directly.

After securing the contract, Rock Bell advised, ”Take advantage of the free time you have recently to exercise properly. There hasn’t been a notice for when Director Wilson’s film crew will start, as the other actors are still being selected. It will probably take a while. During this time, stay at home and don’t run around.”

Jane is somewhat popular now but is still a newcomer and naturally wouldn’t have major business endorsements seeking her out proactively. There have been contacts from smaller manufacturers, but all were turned down by Rock Bell.

Better to have none than something mediocre; this is setting a high starting point for a flawless future for Jane Sampson.

”Don’t worry,” Jane replied this time, much more readily, completely unaware that this obedient answer would leave her hoping every day for James Black’s return to the guard team starting tomorrow.

Jane wasn’t the type to cause trouble, something which Rock Bell was quite confident about, so he nodded and asked the assistant to call in the assistant prepared for Jane.

”Originally, there were two options for you, but shortly after I called you this morning, one of them was taken by Rose Chip. So now there’s only Elizabeth King left.”
