CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 308: Chapter 316: To Make a Comeback

”He’s on vacation,” Jane answered James naturally, ”for one week.”

Rock Bell had asked casually, as a way of greeting James, and she knew it was normal for James to leave the guard team over the weekend, but after Jane explained, Rock Bell couldn’t help but take another look at James.

A week’s vacation?

Did he take time off just to take care of Jane?

Rock Bell mused to herself. Before today, she really hadn’t noticed that James was the kind of man so considerate in taking care of others. But since it was the couple’s business, Rock Bell didn’t ask further,

”Sit down, I’ve got some great news for you.” Rock Bell stood up and walked over from her office desk, her face unable to hide her joy, ”Guess who I just got a call from, Jane? Take a guess.”

”My brother-in-law?” Jane guessed seriously, but there was only one person she could think of.

”Pfft, would I be happy to get a call from him?” Rock Bell suppressed a smile at the corner of her mouth, ”It was a call from James Carter’s agent. He wants to collaborate with you. James Carter is making a comeback.”

Jane’s hand trembled lightly as she held her water cup, and water splashed out, wetting the back of her hand.

Quickly, James took the water cup from her hand and wiped the water off her back of the hand, his voice deepening, ”Do you not want your left hand to recover either?”

Jane shook her head, ”I’m just too surprised.” She offered this as an explanation to James, and then looked back at Rock Bell.

She asked, ”James Carter is making a comeback?”

”Yes, it seems he’s planning to prepare for a comeback concert and wants to invite you to be one of his honored guests. His agent suggested that Ms. Little strongly recommended you. Ms. Little and James Carter are quite close.”

After thinking for a moment, Rock Bell added, ”The message from James Carter is probably that he wants to invite you to perform with him on stage. You play the piano, he sings. Jane, I remember you used to dream about performing with James Carter. Surprised, aren’t you? Your dream is about to come true, without any prior sign. Are you happy?”

Thinking of Jane’s nickname, Rock Bell felt happy for her.

Nina had said that the spiritual faith that supported Jane through her most unhappy phase was James Carter. There was a time when Jane practiced like mad to get the opportunity to perform with him.

But for some reason, that dream faded away.

Rock Bell thought Jane would be as thrilled as her, but to her surprise, Jane shook her head and said, ”Sister Tin, could you please turn it down for me?”

Seeing Rock Bell’s astonished expression, Jane felt compelled to explain, ”Sister Tin, I haven’t touched the piano in a long time.”

”You still have your childhood foundation, right? Won’t you pick it up again with some practice?” Rock Bell argued, ”Think about it, Jane. Not to mention that James Carter is your favorite idol, but on a personal level, do you understand what it means for you to be a guest at his comeback concert? Not to exaggerate, but it’s like an instant rise to stardom. Even though James Carter has been out of the circle for a long time, his popularity remains. The day he announces his comeback, do you believe, he could occupy the hot search for a long time?”

Rock Bell was short of saying, Jane, are you crazy? Such a good opportunity, to just say no?
