CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 200: Chapter 208: Calling Me Blind

And as the biggest boss of the company to which Sophie Young and William Rivers belonged, Alexander Forest could only feel a headache coming on. The Public Relations Department had reached out to the studios of several marketing accounts, but no matter how much money the company was willing to spend, the boss of that studio wouldn’t budge an inch. There wasn’t the slightest room for negotiation; it was as if they were intent on crushing William Rivers and Sophie Young completely.

Alexander Forest’s headache worsened, and eventually, he had no choice but to make a call to James Black from the guard team.

James Black was in his office at midday when he picked up the call from Alexander Forest, his old friend.

”Hello,” James Black’s voice was neither hurried nor slow.

”Stop with the hellos, my eyebrows are already on fire here,” Alexander Forest spoke rapidly, ”Two artists from my company caused a bit of a scandal today. I remember you might know the boss of Rocky Studio, right? Could you ask him who’s sneakily targeting our company’s William Rivers and Sophie Young? Also, find out what it would take to work with us and smoothly resolve this situation.”

Upon hearing this, James Black’s voice turned cold, ”Sophie Young and William Rivers are your artists?”

”Yes, just signed them not long ago. I was banking on the two of them to make some good money for the company!” Alexander was eagerly agreeing, but before he could finish, James let out a cold huff and abruptly hung up the phone. The buzzing sound left Alexander completely dumbfounded.

What’s going on?

They were old friends, after all, so Alexander could sense that James was angry.

But why—why the sudden anger?

Teeth aching, Alexander dialed back cautiously and asked, ”Did I say something wrong just now?”

”Sorry, but I think we might need to break off our friendship,” said James, tapping his fingers gently on the desktop. ”It was me who got Rocky Studio to go after Sophie Young and William Rivers. They’ve offended me, and now that I’ve made my move, I never intended to let these two have an easy time in the future.”

”What?!”

Alexander’s hand holding the phone began to tremble, ”Why? No, wait! Since when are you even paying attention to what’s going on in my circle? You’re always holed up in the guard team, how could they have had the chance to offend you?”

”They could,” James’s tone was very sour, ”Their fans called me blind, and neither of them did anything to stop it. Not stopping it means they’re endorsing their fans’ words.”

After speaking, James hung up the call again, then decisively added his childhood friend to the blacklist.

When Alexander tried calling James’s mobile phone again, he couldn’t get through. He burst out in anger. When did James start picking up the habit of casually blacklisting people?

Of course, Alexander’s primary concern was that he had never imagined that James Black was the one stirring up trouble behind Sophie Young and William Rivers.

If it were someone else, Alexander would have considered salvaging the situation, but with it being James, it was time to reassess.

In his eyes, Sophie Young and William Rivers were just employees in the company who made him money, albeit employees who were capable of earning but troublesome to manage.

But then there was James, his Brother, his good friend—obviously, James mattered more.

However, Alexander was also curious: Sophie Young and William Rivers’ fans didn’t even know who James was, so how could they have insulted James’s eyesight?

What was going on that he hadn’t understood yet?
