CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 195: Chapter 203: Why Help?

Peter Gingery quickly changed his address for Jane Sampson, saying, ”My sister-in-law was bullied, did you see how these crazy fans in the comment section bullied her? Sophie Young and William Rivers aren’t any good either. They don’t even bother to explain and just let their crazy fans attack my sister-in-law.”

As Peter talked, he showed James Black the comments where Jane was being insulted on Twitter, then he pulled up the chat history he had just had with Rock Bell, ”Look, Sister Tin specially called these two actors’ agents and asked them to post on Twitter and explain, but what did they say? They said their fans have the right to freedom of speech, and they can’t interfere. Sister Tin said these two obviously want to step on my sister-in-law to add to their newcomer labels, such as innocence, purity, and so on. Isn’t that infuriating?”

”Oh,” James Black responded indifferently, but his gaze quickly scanned Rock Bell and Peter Gingery’s chat history, precisely memorizing the name of the official Twitter account and those two actors.

”Brother, is that your only reaction? My sister-in-law, your wife, is being bullied, and you won’t help her? With your connections, wouldn’t it be easy to help my sister-in-law?” Peter urgently protested on James’s behalf. Seeing his own wife being bullied, how could he remain impassive?

”Why should I help? This is the path she chose for herself, the one she wants to walk. I said I wouldn’t oppose her choice, but I also won’t support it. She can go as far as she can. If she can’t go on, she just comes home.” He even harbored the hope that Jane Sampson would come home soon, even if it meant her coming home crying.

”Brother, you...” Peter Gingery struggled to keep the word ’cold-blooded’ contained in his heart.

He had thought that once James Black heard about this, he would definitely help Jane Sampson solve this problem.

Watching James Black’s figure disappearing into the night as he left, Peter Gingery began to search his mind for friends who might be able to help.

After leaving the entertainment room, James Black went straight back to his dormitory. Because he lived alone, his dormitory in the guardian team’s base was much smaller than his home in Capital Province, akin to a small apartment with a small kitchen, a bathroom, a not-so-large living room, and one room. Inside the room there was a bed only a bit larger than a single bed, a bedhead cabinet, a very small wardrobe, and a main desk with a bookshelf. The most valuable possession in this dormitory was probably the books in his bookshelf.

The number of books he kept in the guardian team exceeded those in the study at his Capital Province home, as he spent most of his time at the guard team base. Even on weekends before, he rarely left the guard team.

Turning on the desk lamp, James Black sat at his desk, took out his mobile phone, and without even downloading Twitter, he directly searched the web page for that official Twitter account to check.

By this time, the show had already ended, and the comments insulting Jane Sampson that Peter had flipped through earlier had cycled through several updates. In the new comments, apart from attacking Jane as a scheming bitch, some also targeted her for not having a boyfriend, saying all sorts of things: saying she deserved not to have a boyfriend, was ugly, questioned how many times she had gotten plastic surgery, and which non-blind man would fancy her?

After seeing this, James Black thought for a moment; he remembered that during his physical examination this year, his vision was just as good as when he had first entered the guardian team’s high school as a young man.
