CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 173: Chapter 181: The Expected Choice

Sasha really laughed until she cried, ”Jane Sampson just wrecked this third round, her hints were super obvious, and it made it hard for the next people to follow. The girl right after Jane, I noticed her expression got all confused just now, did you all see that? Plus, she let the opponents know what cards she was holding, so the undercovers are definitely going to start pretending now.”

”Now it’s time to test their acting skills,” Mr. Humming said in one sentence, instantly ratcheting up the tension in the room as everyone started looking nervously at the people behind them.

By the time it got to the last person, William Chip, he arrogantly hummed the theme song of the TV series, making the audience below burst into laughter that nearly drowned out the sound from the stage.

”The third round of voting is about to begin, does anyone have something to say?” Mr. Humming reminded the remaining few honored guests, ”This round is going to cut from seven to three, leaving four. If among the four, there are two civilians and two undercovers, then the undercovers win. If there’s one undercover and three civilians, then the civilians win.”

”Mr. Humming, can I ask what the punishment is for the losing side?” Alexander SkyShaw craned his head and glanced in the backstage direction, ”Backstage just now, I didn’t see anyone preparing any pranks or stuff, so I’m a bit curious and sort of worried.”

”Your curiosity is right on, and your worry is even more justified, secrecy!” Mr. Humming said with a sneaky smile, ”Our show has always been unconventional, you know that, right? Maybe this time the losers will get a consolation prize, huh?”

”Mr. Humming, you laughed so wickedly just now, I don’t buy it,” Matthew O’Reilly shook his head.

”Whether you believe it or not, do you assume you will definitely lose?” Sasha passed the microphone to Jane Sampson, ”Jane, do you have anything to say?”

”Now that the microphone is in my hands, wouldn’t it be a shame not to say a few words and grab a few more seconds of screen time?” Jane Sampson had that sneaky look of someone who’s not going to let go of the mic, ”I won’t say too much, saying too much will bring suspicion upon myself and I could be accused of setting the pace.”

”You already set the pace just now and got the couple eliminated,” Julie Sampton interrupted with an unsolicited comment and started laughing as if she thought she was very funny.

”Oh, isn’t it the general consensus to eliminate those who show too much public affection?” Jane Sampson said in surprise.

”Right, general consensus,” Sasha agreed seriously, nodding vigorously, ”After hosting one show, I’ve probably gained a few pounds.”

Laughter filled the audience again, and Jane Sampson took her time amid the laughter, ”I’m really not setting the pace, truly! I’ll just talk about the votes I’m going to cast next! The first is for Alexander SkyShaw because just now among everyone, his speech was the most vague, he was definitely unsure of what we all were at that time. The second is Matthew O’Reilly, his talk about TV shows, giving such unoriginal hints, it’s already clashed with what I and the girl behind me said. The third is Abigail Chip, no particular reason, if the girl next to me gets eliminated and I eliminate her as well, I’ll be the only one in the spotlight.”

”And you say that doesn’t set the pace? I’ve never met anyone who leads as much as you do!” Sasha laughed and pounded the table.

Matthew O’Reilly took the microphone from Jane Sampson’s hand, then said, ”I agree with giving Alexander SkyShaw one vote, but as for me, I need to save myself. After all, the range for hint words has already been narrowed down, so after thinking it over, the only words and phrases I can use are those few. So, it’s really unfair to be accused of unoriginality in my hints. I was at the back, what could I do?”
