CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 197: Chapter 205: Treat Tenderly

Hugo Edwards’s comment was very noticeable, as the number of likes underneath had already broken ten thousand.

Hugo said that since one participates in the game, one must follow the game’s rules. As one of the guests on the scene, he didn’t think Jane did anything wrong.

Countless fans of Hugo liked this comment, praising the elder brother for speaking such reasonable words. However, because Hugo was also undercover, he was likewise cursed by the fans of William Rivers and Sophie Young. They said that obviously, as an undercover himself, he would speak for the undercover, among many other things, and some even called Hugo an old man trying to leech off popularity.

Because of this one sentence, the clash between the fans of Hugo Edwards and those of William Rivers and Sophie Young erupted immediately. While Hugo was indeed the oldest among the guests of that episode, inside the circle, everyone would respectfully address Hugo as elder brother. This was not because they thought Hugo was old, but rather, it was a compliment to Hugo for being caring.

Hugo had good relations inside the circle, and even his fans affectionately called him elder brother. So when the term elder brother was used as a weapon to attack him, Hugo’s fans became furious.

Originally, those who were just passersby, and even became involved in the big fight because Hugo followed Jane, saw that the fans of William Rivers and Sophie Young were a bit overwhelmed.

After all, the fan base of Hugo was not one bit smaller than that of William Rivers and Sophie Young combined.

James Black clicked on Hugo’s twitter to find that Hugo had indeed posted about the matter, primarily to calm his fans down and to urge them not to tarnish their image over a minor dispute, and he also took the opportunity to appeal to everyone not to harbor malice towards a girl, especially a newcomer female artist, and not to use the most vicious words in this world to attack a girl. He repeated his stance that Jane was a very nice girl deserving of everyone’s gentle treatment.

James Black exited Hugo’s twitter and googled Hugo, finding out from online information that Hugo was thirty-eight. Subconsciously comparing himself, he then reassuredly closed the browser and placed his mobile phone back on the tabletop.

A thirty-eight-year-old man posed no threat to him.

Hmm.

Lying in bed, James Black realized that he was comparing himself with another male artist and paused. After thinking about it, he felt that he was mainly doing it to maintain the peace of his marriage; he always disliked troublesome things like getting divorced.

The show ended at 11:30. Jane was alone, coiled up in the hotel bed, scrolling through her mobile phone, when a notification for a new message popped up on her WhatsAPP. Jane opened it to find a screenshot from Rock Bell.

Jane was somewhat surprised. Of all people, Hugo, who spoke to her the least during the show, was actually the first one to speak up for her. Holding her phone, Jane looked at the screenshot, at Hugo’s words.

Jane is a very nice girl, deserving of everyone’s gentle treatment.

This sentence, inexplicably, made Jane’s heart soften.

Since she decided to embark on this path, Jane knew that it would be tough and that she would have to cut through thorns. She was bound to encounter a lot of malice.

Yet, Jane hadn’t expected that, after a brief encounter, Hugo would speak up for her like this.

Jane logged into her verified twitter account from Rock Bell’s phone, and the first thing she did was follow Hugo, then she sent a private message to him.
