CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 128: Chapter 136: Come In

Just now, for a split second, there really was that fierce intent to devour her whole.

Looking at her now, with her obedient and dainty appearance, her face swollen and still bearing the imprint of a slap, her lips also swollen, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret.

”I...”, Jane Sampson felt quite wronged, ”to be fair, you get angry at me far more often.”

When she wasn’t at home, all was joyful, but once at home, this guy became too controlling.

He would constantly say ’don’t do that,’ or ’that’s not allowed.’

It was only because he towered over her with his size that she couldn’t win against him, which is why he always had those few phrases ready at his lips.

After applying the ointment to Jane Sampson, James Black put away the medical box and left her alone in the living room as he went to his room, casually pushing a few suitcases that were by the room doorway.

The area where the ointment was applied felt cool and comfortable. Jane Sampson stuck out her tongue and licked her lips. The ointment had a mint flavor, almost like mint candy, and was even a little sweet.

Hmm, it tasted pretty good.

It must be an edible ointment.

Not seeing him come out after a while and hearing no noise from the room, Jane Sampson tiptoed on her bare feet, slightly curious, and moved quietly back towards the room doorway, poking her head in to glance around.

James Black saw the half-hidden head and a pair of bright and sneaky eyes blinking and darting around in the mirror of the master bedroom’s attached cloakroom.

”Come in,” James Black called out to the mirror. Then he slowly shifted his gaze away from the mirror and turned to look behind him, ”What is it?”

”What are you doing?” Jane Sampson, upon hearing James Black call her in, tiptoed into the cloakroom with her little floral steps, taking a close look, and then froze.

So he had been in the room for so long, silently, just to do this?

Was he actually putting the clothes from her suitcase back in their place by himself?

”I can do it myself! It’s better if I do it myself,” Jane Sampson suddenly felt that the scene was a bit odd. As she moved forward quickly and saw what James Black was holding in his hands, she wanted to cover her face even more.

She had thought that after this incident had occurred, James Black would surely divorce her, so she had taken all her belongings from the house, which naturally included clothes, and clothes, of course, also meant underwear and underpants.

And now in James Black’s hand was her black lace bra, though it was a black lace one, it was far from seductive; on the contrary, it was rather girlish and fresh in style.

But still, it was a private item, and having James Black, a big man, holding it so nonchalantly made Jane Sampson feel her face burning.

”Sorting clothes is something I can do myself,” Jane Sampson quickly pulled the bra from James Black’s hand and tossed it back into the box, snapping the lid closed, ”You go out.”

James Black, looking at his empty hand, raised an eyebrow and hummed as he stood up. He seemed to notice that Jane Sampson was barefoot and his eyebrows furrowed slightly again. ”Haven’t I told you that no matter the season, you should always wear slippers in the house?”

The floor of the house was tiled, so it was cool all year round. James Black had heard from Old Madam Black since he was very young that coldness invades the body starting from the feet; hence, no matter the season, it’s important to keep your feet warm.

”I’ll put them on right away,” Jane Sampson, fearing his expression the most, nodded hastily and quickly turned to retrieve the slippers from the living room. Then she hurried back to the room, asking softly, ”Are you going to take a rest for a while? I can organize these things myself.”
