Chapter 112: Chapter 120: If Nothing Goes Wrong

And she would give Jane Sampson even more generous resources, pushing her to stardom.

However, it seemed that Jane Sampson hadn’t considered this unexpected turn of events at all; instead, she focused her attention on the variety show that Rock Bell mentioned, becoming quite excited.

”I’m Not a Celebrity, this variety show is so much fun!” Jane Sampson grinned, showing her teeth, ”I watched the first season, and it was hilarious.”

Mango TV could be said to have the highest ratings among national TV stations, and ”I’m Not a Celebrity” was one of Mango TV’s hottest shows.

The first season invited eight artists, including singers, models, and actors, to participate in the show, sending these eight people to a remote small village where they would live for three months, taking on the task of teaching at the village’s elementary school.

When these city dwellers came to the countryside, their shenanigans, resulting in chickens flying and dogs jumping, made the audience laugh repeatedly. The show was highly entertaining, but it was more than just a comedy show. Behind the scenes, it also addressed social issues, calling for more societal attention on rural poverty. Thus, the show was very popular and drew a lot of attention.

Olivia Chip made a guest appearance on one of the episodes of the first season, and it was in that episode where she patiently helped wash the hands and clothes of lonely elderly folks in the mountain village and taught left-behind children. This boosted Olivia Chip’s popularity significantly.

After finishing her guest appearance on the show, Olivia Chip generously donated 100,000 bucks to the village school. Although not a large sum, as a newcomer back then, Olivia Chip still garnered a circle of fans.

”Sister Tin, where will the second season of I’m Not a Celebrity be recorded? Will it be in the mountains again?” Jane Sampson was worried about this, ”I’m not good at washing clothes, but I do have decent culinary skills. However, I don’t know how to use the countryside’s big pots, big stoves, or firewood. As a teacher, except for piano, I can’t teach anything else, but the school is so poor, where would they have a piano?”

”Your thinking is a bit poisonous.” Rock Bell held her forehead, realizing that while she was worried about the Black Family, Jane Sampson was concerned about what she would be able to do if she participated in the show.

Was the little lass this confident she could make it that far?

”You’re worrying too much. How could the content of the second season be the same as the first? Do you think the audience won’t get tired of the same old thing? Silly girl.” Rock Bell laughed, and seeing Jane Sampson blinking at her, she knew what she wanted to ask, ”Don’t look at me, I don’t know what the second season entails. Even if I have a bit of a connection to the people running it, they’re not likely to divulge such confidential information to me. Being able to get you, a newcomer, added to the cast is all thanks to my exceptional abilities, Rock Bell.”

”Thank you, Sister Tin,” Jane Sampson was truly grateful. On the surface, she and Rock Bell had no familial or intimate ties, yet Rock Bell helped her so much. Anyone who wasn’t an ingrate would be moved.

”Oh, Sister Tin, how come Director Taylor has been discharged from the hospital already?” Jane Sampson finally had the opportunity to ask Rock Bell alone, ”Didn’t the doctor say they had to arrange surgery for Director Taylor?”

”The new drama is about to start filming, and Daniel Taylor is a workaholic. How could he possibly put off his work for later?” Rock Bell said this with a headache, knowing that once Daniel Taylor became stubborn, not even she could change his mind, ”Later, following Doctor Taylor’s advice, they decided to have Daniel Taylor take medication to control his condition, and once he finishes filming this drama, he’ll have to go straight to the hospital to undergo surgery.”
