CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 116: Chapter 124: I Won’t Go

At this moment, Jane Sampson allowed the mobile phone in her pocket to keep vibrating with message notifications, as she sat silently on the sofa in the living room of the Sampton family home, her head hung low.

She had known this day would come from the moment she resolved to take this step.

”Who gave you the audacity to do such disgraceful things to the Black Family, to the Sampton Family? Huh! Do you have any idea how I felt when I saw these messages at the company?”

Father Sampton slammed the pad in his hand onto the floor right in front of Jane Sampson, and the screen shattered on impact.

”Jane Sampson, did you think of the consequences when you did these things? Huh! Or has your brain been turned to mush from playing the piano all these years?” Father Sampton yelled as he pointed his finger accusingly at her and continued to berate her, ”You’re capable, aren’t you! You always appear so docile and clever, yet you pulled this stunt without making a sound! Who gave you the courage to do this?”

After scolding Jane Sampson, Father Sampton’s anger showed no sign of subsiding as he turned and shouted at Mother Sampton, ”This is the good child you’ve raised! Look at what your spoiling has done!”

”Dad, what does this have to do with Mom? Where in her heart does she have room for our Sampton family? Where in her heart is there a place for Mom?” Bright Sampton stood up and pulled Mother Sampton behind her protectively, ”In her current actions, where would she inform Mom?”

After saying this, Julie Sampton muttered in a very low voice, ”After all, we’re not one family, with blood of someone we don’t even know flowing in our veins, her heart isn’t with this family.”

The volume of this statement was not low; both Father Sampton and Mother Sampton heard it clearly. Mother Sampton reached out to pull Julie, giving her a gentle shake of the head, signaling her not to speak out of turn. Father Sampton’s gaze darkened, he snorted, then said, ”Withdraw from the film crew, then come with me to apologize to the Old Master Black.”

It was at this time that Jane Sampson finally spoke, firmly stating, ”I won’t go.”

Father Sampton did not expect Jane Sampson to answer him back so directly and decisively.

”Jane Sampson, you really think you’ve grown wings, don’t you?”

With those words from Father Sampton, a heavy slap landed directly on Jane Sampson’s face.

As a result of the slap, Jane Sampson’s face turned slightly to the side.

Did it hurt?

Very much.

Half of her face seemed numb with pain, leaving only a burning sensation.

Her fingers resting on the sofa curled into a tight fist, then she slowly raised her head to look up at Father Sampton towering above her, and said coldly, ”Dad, just now you asked if I had considered the consequences, right? Now, I can answer you, I have thought about it, and thought about it seriously.”

After hitting Jane Sampson, Father Sampton felt some regret; he was also annoyed with himself for being impulsive, as he looked at the mark of the slap on her face, unable to determine his feelings.

”So what, it’s just a divorce, right? The worst outcome is just being swept out of the Black Family,” Jane Sampson sneered with self-mockery, ”I don’t care.”

After Jane Sampson said this, the only thought in Father Sampton’s mind was that he had not hit her hard enough.

”You believe I won’t place an ad and sever ties with you?” Father Sampton threatened, ”Without the identity of a daughter-in-law of the Black Family or Sampton Family’s daughter, I would like to see just how tough your bones are, banning a newcomer like you is merely a matter of one sentence from me, or from Old Master Black.”

”Dad!”

Outside the door, Bright Sampton rushed in hurriedly, without even the time to change his shoes. Seeing the imprint of the slap on Jane Sampson’s face, anger surged in his heart; he was still too late.
