CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 102: Chapter 110: Much More Pleasing to the Eye

After saying that, Jane Sampson sensed that James Black’s breathing seemed to have gotten noticeably heavier.

It’s over, the more she explained, the angrier he seemed to get?

But, why?

”Jane Sampson.”

James Black took a long breath before calling out her name and surname included, the woman who was earnestly and anxiously explaining on the other end of the phone. Then he said, word for word, ”That ’husband’ is me.”

”...” Jane Sampson seemed to lose her ability to speak, stammering out a sound, ”You? You? How did you become ’husband’?

What Jane meant was, how had his mobile number in her contact list turned into ’husband’?

She remembered...

”You took it upon yourself to change it that day we went to the shopping mall last weekend!” Jane Sampson immediately remembered that last weekend, James Black had taken her phone and discovered the nickname she had set for him, and then apparently he had changed it himself?

At that time, Jane Sampson thought James Black would at most change his contact nickname back to James Black.

She hadn’t expected, never thought that he would change it to ’husband’?

”If I’m not mistaken, at the shopping mall, didn’t you call me that yourself?” James Black snorted, ”What, is there a mistake? Do I need to pull out our marriage certificate for you to check again?”

”...” Sitting inside the car, Jane Sampson was stunned, covering her forehead, ”Sure, I said that, but you didn’t tell me what nickname you changed, how would I know you changed it to ’husband’? Just like my name in your phone is Jane Sampson, I thought you just changed it back to James Black.”

”Are you reminding me that in the interest of fairness, I should change yours to ’wife’?” James Black asked very seriously and considered it for two seconds, nodding, ”That’s right, I’ll change it right now.”

When James Black said ’right now’, he meant it. He was gripping the phone in his hand, and changing a nickname was really a matter of a few seconds. By the time Jane Sampson started calling out to him, he had already clicked complete, and the three words ’Jane Sampson’ were replaced by the two words ’wife’.

Then James Black said, ”Indeed, the two words ’wife’ are indeed more pleasing to the eye than the three words ’Jane Sampson’.”

Peter Gingery, standing next to him, was taken aback and interjected, ”Brother, do you think that comment was a compliment? It sounds to me like you’re dissatisfied with Jane’s name.”

”Shut up!”

”You should tell Peter Gingery to shut up too!”

As James Black hurled those two words at Peter Gingery, Jane Sampson was also shouting at James Black over the phone.

Initially, Jane Sampson hadn’t felt like her name was being disparaged by James Black, but after hearing Peter Gingery say it, she began to feel slighted.

So be it, obsessing over a nickname is pointless, Jane Sampson asked lazily, ”It’s all a misunderstanding. I’ll pull you out of the blacklist in a second. Also, why were you calling me?”

”To let you know, I won’t be able to make it back this weekend,” James Black said. ”Don’t wait for me to come home.”

”???” Jane Sampson blurted out her question, ”Didn’t you say that when you left in the morning that day? Why did you need to make a special call? I wasn’t waiting for you to come home.”

This time, it was Peter Gingery’s turn to hold his forehead. Jane Sampson, oh Jane Sampson, didn’t you understand that his brother thought she wanted him to come home? Why clarify things so emphatically at that moment?

As expected, James Black’s face grew darker, ”When I left, I said ’maybe,’ ’possibly.’ I didn’t tell you for certain.”

Is there a difference?

Jane Sampson muttered in her heart, anyway, at that time, she had just assumed the message that James Black wouldn’t be able to come back that weekend.

”Okay, okay, I got it now. If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up, I’m still driving.”

Jane Sampson hastily hung up the phone, then immediately freed James Black’s number from the blacklist, and just as easily changed the nickname ’husband’ back to ’James Black.’

That ’husband’ nickname, it just felt too cheesy.
