I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 689: Chapter 688: The First to Emerge

The final day of the tournament has finally arrived. For the contestants who made it to the top eight, all the families and schools are highly attentive, as these eight individuals are the trendsetters for the next few years.

This morning, there will be an elimination round: eight contestants will be reduced to four, and the remaining four will determine the top three.

Therefore, two matches need to be held in one morning. Although there are fewer people and short time, it is the most exciting period of these seven days.

Almost all Mystic Doctors are staying in the old warehouse, making the large old warehouse seem much more crowded. Especially at this time, almost no one wants to miss it.

For this reason, officials have specially prepared two large screens outside the old warehouse for live streaming of the match inside.

Some good spots inside have long been occupied by major clan sects, and even the spots that are barely clear have been taken, forcing many people to move outside.

Fortunately, the live broadcast on the big screen is very clear, which dispelled the boredom of some Mystic Doctors.

The eight competitors have taken their places, and the match has begun.

The topic for this elimination round is the Primordial Energy Talisman. This Xuan Talisman is generally used for those deficient in both qi and blood. It is the most commonly made and used type of Xuan Talisman.

The Primordial Energy Talisman is easy to make for most Mystic Doctors, but if quick effectiveness is desired, especially quick in the eyes of Mystic Doctors, then it requires a lot of herbal medicine combinations.

The Primordial Energy Talisman is open for creativity, with everyone making their unique talisman, and this Xuan Talisman can be paired with a variety of herbal medicines.

The purpose of this topic is mainly to see the number of herbal medicines the contestants can integrate. Generally speaking, around twenty or thirty types are not considered impressive for Primordial Energy Talismans.

In other words, while the Primordial Energy Talisman is easy to make, achieving good results is challenging.

After receiving the topic, the eight pondered for a while. The herbs are provided by the organizers, eighty types of herbs per person, all grown in greenhouses and of the same age to prevent cheating with high-year herbs.

Most of the herbs provided by the organizers are dry goods, and the quantity is small, only enough for the maximum volume of two talisman makings.

The eight collected their talisman-making tools and entered separate rooms. Upon receiving the signal, they began the talisman making.

People cannot see the talisman-making process from outside. While waiting, many people are discussing who will be the top three in this round.

Fei Yunqing is almost undoubtedly the first; it seems no one can shake his position.

The choice for second place is contentious, mainly among three individuals.

One is Shi Jianbin from the Shi Family. The Shi Family, being a major family in the North, has a foundation no less than the Yunquan School, and talents are abundant, especially a young master in the Shi Family who, at a young age, already has quite remarkable skills and is said to have rich medical experience.

Another one is You Hong’an from the Zou Lu School, also a hot favorite in this tournament. However, his performance this time wasn’t spectacular despite lacking experience, yet it’s noticeable that his performance is highly stable, consistently staying in fourth place unhurriedly.

Many believe he hasn’t shown his true skills and is a strong contender for second place.

The last one is Wen Xin, who can barely be considered a dark horse. Previously, Wen Xin’s performance didn’t stand out, but seeing her complete talisman making in the last round in single digits attracted much attention.

Moreover, subsequent testing showed her Xuan Talisman didn’t lose potency due to speed or cause herbal rejection, increasing interest in her.

Especially given Wen Xin’s gentle and lovely image, young and beautiful, she has won lots of support.

Although the discussion is about the candidates for second place, basically, everyone feels these individuals encompass the top three.

After five minutes, the discussions quieted down. In another two or three minutes, someone should come out, and it will definitely be Fei Yunqing. The only question is if he will continue to surpass himself as he did in the previous matches.

While everyone eagerly watches Fei Yunqing’s room, another door unexpectedly opens, and a very beautiful woman walks out, placing her Xuan Talisman on the table in front of her room. Everyone hasn’t reacted yet.

”Beisitian from Qingyu School, completed in seven minutes and thirty seconds.”

This voice echoed in the large hall of the old warehouse, and through loudspeakers reached the ears of those watching the match on the screen outside, causing an immediate uproar.

The first to emerge wasn’t Fei Yunqing but an unknown figure!

”Where’s Qingyu School located? Who is Beisitian?”

”Never heard of the school, nor the person.”

This person seemed to have appeared out of thin air. Not only was she unheard of before this tournament, but even before this event, no one knew about her.

While Wen Xin from the Wen Family was known for her good aptitude, Qingyu School or Beisitian was unknown to anyone.

”By the way, do you know her time from the last round?”

Suddenly someone asked, and there was immediate silence.

Though Beisitian made it to the top eight, most attention was focused on those from major families. Qingyu School and Beisitian’s names were only mentioned out of curiosity for being unfamiliar, but they weren’t remembered, not at all.

Now asked, nobody remembers.

”Uh, seems it was... a little over ten minutes.” A young man said weakly.

The reason he remembered was Beisitian’s extremely beautiful appearance.

Upon hearing this time, everyone looked at each other, confused. In the last round, which was yesterday, this woman named Beisitian took quite a bit of time, yet today she finished in just over seven minutes?

It can be imagined that her Xuan Talisman probably has speed but not much potency.

Many people sacrifice some efficacy in pursuit of speed.

The second person out was Fei Yunqing, with a time of eight minutes and forty-two seconds, pretty much as predicted; his grasp of the pace was very good, and faster than in the last round.

Such accomplishments in competitions truly evoke envy and jealousy.

The individual rooms were well-soundproofed, so Fei Yunqing didn’t hear the announcement. Coming out and seeing someone already standing outside, he was stunned.

He saw Beisitian at the inspection table, with talisman powder placed in front of her, obviously indicating she came out before him.

Fei Yunqing checked the time and found Beisitian finished a minute faster, showing surprise.

His gaze fell upon the talisman powder in front of Beisitian.

Wonder how effective it is?
