I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 658: Chapter 657

Beisitian went to the Red Painted Courtyard of the old master.

”He probably left in the early morning, as Mr. Bei has a habit of morning exercises, and everyone in the courtyard is used to it. So when he left in the morning and didn’t return, the caregiver went in and found the bedding neatly folded, which seemed strange. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that his clothes were gone too, so they immediately reported it,” Wu Yuekai said.

Beisitian sighed, ”Since he left on his own, then let’s not look for him.”

It’s not like he’s being imprisoned. Now that he’s well, it’s his freedom to go wherever he wants. But leaving without a word does feel a bit unsettling.

New Year’s Eve came quickly. On this day, Beisitian’s family of five spent the day at Luo Anguo’s courtyard; there were eight of them in total, and it was quite lively.

The three children could already turn over, and the oldest could even maintain a sitting position for a few seconds.

The adults watched the three children grow day by day, noticing their sudden new changes. This joy was heartfelt, which strengthened Beisitian and Luo Xudong’s resolve to find a solution for their two daughters’ genetic illnesses.

Luo Xuping regrettably looked at Luo Yirui, regretting that this little guy was too young, or he’d join him in setting off firecrackers!

Luo Xuping and the three little children were all wearing new clothes. Zhuangzhuang shouted at the fireworks in the sky from the courtyard.

On the second day of the new year, Beisitian and Luo Xudong brought the three little ones to the Red Painted Courtyard.

Their return that day delighted Wu Yuekai, as it meant Beisitian considered his place her family home.

Wu Yuekai had been alone for so many years, and the New Year always felt quiet and lacking the festive spirit. Now that Beisitian and her family had arrived, he couldn’t stop smiling.

”You must stay here for two days, at least two days!” Wu Yuekai insisted, almost threateningly.

Beisitian and Luo Xudong exchanged smiles and agreed.

”Old master, it seems you won’t have much peace for the next two days,” Beisitian laughed.

Wu Yuekai burst into laughter, finding joy just by watching the three little ones all day long. This New Year was sure to be interesting!

Indeed, it was like that. Old people just love children, and Wu Yuekai spent entire days with the three little ones, setting up an extra-large bed to watch them roll around. When the two little girls were about to squeeze together, Wu Yuekai would separate them with his hands.

Li Xuejun followed the old master, helping to entertain the children and having a great time, even learning how to change diapers!

Li Xuejun held up the eldest, Luo Yirui, vertically, grinning from ear to ear, and said to Wu Yuekai, ”Old chief, look, look, this little guy is smiling at me!”

Wu Yuekai quickly turned to see Luo Yirui beaming, his toothless mouth stretched in a joyful smile.

The two little girls also reached out to Wu Yuekai upon seeing their brother being held, constantly yelling ”Ah, ah,” their chubby little faces drooling slightly from the corners of their mouths.

Wu Yuekai and Li Xuejun were suddenly very busy, holding one and then another, but they didn’t forget that the two little girls couldn’t be put together.

When Beisitian and Luo Xudong left, Li Xuejun was so exhausted he could barely speak. These little rascals were much harder to serve than this old ancestor!

Wu Yuekai laughed heartily. If it weren’t for other commitments, he certainly would have invited them to stay longer.

After the New Year, many people suddenly came to Beijing, and they didn’t seem like workers, more like families or tour groups visiting. Hotels became a hot commodity, especially those near the Third Ring.

The Wei Family became busy recently. Wei Yuanqing hoped that Wei Zhongyuan could attend the exchange meeting as the eldest grandson of the Wei Family, but Wei Zhongyuan refused; he wanted to follow Beisitian instead.

Wei Yuanqing smiled bitterly. This brat had always gone his own way, not giving face even to his grandfather. Currently, only he was capable of forming a Spiritual Talisman. If he didn’t attend as a representative of the Wei Family, the family wouldn’t achieve the anticipated reputation.

Although Wei Yuanqing felt it was inappropriate, he still went to Beisitian, hoping she could persuade Wei Zhongyuan.

Beisitian was surprised by this. She didn’t want to make a big deal of the trip, preferring to observe the situation first, and her primary goal wasn’t gaining fame but looking for clues. If someone as famous as Wei Zhongyuan followed her, it would be amazing not to draw attention.

Beisitian hadn’t expected that from Wei Zhongyuan, indeed it was time to have a good talk with him.

”I’ll handle this,” Beisitian said.

Wei Yuanqing felt embarrassed, grateful that Beisitian didn’t care about fame, or otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to ask for this favor.

”The old man here thanks you, Doctor Bei!” Wei Yuanqing expressed his gratitude solemnly.

Beisitian replied, saying it was no problem.

Wei Yuanqing hoped Beisitian wouldn’t mention his visit to Wei Zhongyuan, fearing the boy wouldn’t agree or might stubbornly oppose him in spite.

Beisitian smiled and agreed. Wei Zhongyuan frequently visiting the small courtyard was his initiative. She didn’t want to cause family conflicts, especially since her relations with the Wei Family were good. Wei Yuanqing was considerate and his request was for family interests. Since she didn’t mind, she decided to help them achieve their goal.

The Tian Family also benefited due to their ties with the Wei Family, mainly because of Beisitian. Wei Yuanqing appreciated Beisitian’s understanding and managed to secure an invitation for the Tian Family.

Tian Heming was overjoyed, never expecting to attend such an event in his lifetime!

That day, Beisitian was at home when Zhou Yunxia came over, accompanied by two daughters-in-law, each carrying fruit and cake.

”Dear, I was going to visit you, but I ran into Lin and Yang at the door. They recently moved to our alley and wanted to say hi to the neighbors, so they came along,” Zhou Yunxia said with a smile.

Things like this were quite common. Beisitian smiled and welcomed them in.

The daughter-in-law named Lin was called Lin Xuezhen, and the other named Yang was Yang Juan. They both wore bright smiles as they placed a bag of items on the table, speaking in a strong southern accent.

”We just moved here, and we might be bothering you for a while. We’re all from out of town, unfamiliar with the place. Previously, we only knew Sister Zhou. Now, we want to meet more people and help each other in the future,” Lin Xuezhen said with a smile.

Both Lin Xuezhen and Yang Juan were fair-skinned, and though their faces bore some wrinkles, they were clearly not from the countryside. As Mrs. Qin would say, they didn’t look like people who worked the land.

Yang Juan also laughed, ”We know your family is also from out of town, so maybe we can connect better. Plus, we’ve heard you have triplets, and we thought we’d come over to share some of that luck!”
