I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 680: Chapter 679

At dusk, Luo Xudong returned home and saw Mrs. Qin watching the children in the bedroom. Gao Ma was tidying up, preparing to leave for home, and asked, ”Mom, where’s Sitiang?”

”She’s in the west room, busy with something. You’re back quite early today.” Mrs. Qin replied.

Mrs. Qin didn’t know exactly what Beisitian and Luo Xudong were up to, but their return home was generally predictable.

Whenever Beisitian locked herself in the west room, it meant she was studying the Xuan Talisman. Luo Xudong understood this and did not disturb her, sitting by the bed watching the three little ones.

From the moment he entered, the three little ones lifted their tiny heads to look at him. The youngest, Luo Yiqian, still had a wobbly head. Being the smallest at birth, just three pounds, her development was slightly later than her siblings.

Seeing their three pairs of large, black, grape-like eyes, Luo Xudong’s stern face softened considerably, and an involuntary smile curved his lips.

When these three little ones were born, Luo Xudong actually didn’t feel much. There was no particular emotion, just the knowledge that he was their father, and that was it.

He sometimes found it unbelievable while holding them, simply feeling they were too small, small enough to be held up by a single palm.

Now, watching them grow day by day, whenever there was any new change, like learning to roll over or smile at him, Luo Xudong felt very happy. This happiness was as fulfilling as completing a daunting task.

With every little bit, Luo Xudong’s attitude towards the three little dumplings completely changed, especially the affection he had for his two daughters.

Luo Xudong picked up Luo Yixuan, who was closest to him, and bestowed a kiss on her soft forehead. The little one instantly burst into giggles, while the other two widened their mouths and eyes to watch.

Luo Yiqian needed to lean against a pillow to sit steadily, while Luo Yirui could already sit upright. Seeing his sister being held, he wanted a cuddle too. He uttered ”ah, ah,” flipped his round little body, and promptly lay flat on the bed, raising his little backside to gain momentum to move forward.

”Oh my, hahaha, my little ancestor, you’re so young but already crawling, oh, you’re killing me with laughter. Look at those little moves, like a plump worm, too cute, my dear grandson!” Mrs. Qin laughed uncontrollably, picking up Luo Yirui to shower him with kisses.

Beside them, Luo Yiqian saw her siblings being cuddled or perhaps wet herself, pouted her little mouth, and burst into tears.

She was already unsteady where she sat, and after crying, her little body slumped onto the bed, making her cries even louder, full of vigor.

Seeing this, Mrs. Qin laughed even more, unable to stop herself, reaching out to pick up the little one, ”Oh, too cute. Grandma’s going to cuddle you too, yes she is!”

Although having these three little dumplings around was exhausting, Mrs. Qin felt mostly joy and satisfaction. The three little ones were truly adorable.

Mrs. Qin cuddled this one and teased that one, also reminding Luo Xudong not to kiss the children too much. Adults’ mouths have many bacteria, and children have weak resistance, so they shouldn’t be kissed frequently.

Ever since having these grandkids, Mrs. Qin often sought advice from those around her and professionals like Professor Qiu, like the children’s grandmother, gaining more childcare knowledge than Beisitian and Luo Xudong.

Mrs. Qin regularly reminded them of some everyday precautions.

Soon, Beisitian came over, seeing that Gao Ma had left. She planned to move into the small storeroom in the evening. The list of Xuan Talismans to be made and the herbs needed for combination were ready, with proportions matched.

Actually, Gao Ma could easily stay here. There were empty rooms in the yard for help to live in, but since Beisitian had many secrets, she needed private space, so she made this clear when hiring.

Beisitian entered and saw the couple laughing cheerfully, then noticed the small cute baby hanging on the tall Luo Xudong. This visual contrast pinned Beisitian’s gaze on them; one was her husband, the other her beloved treasure, making her feel warm inside.

”Gao Ma has already made dinner, Little Tian’er. After eating, you can get busy.” Mrs. Qin saw Beisitian come in and prepared to invite her to eat.

These days, she returned late, and Luo Xudong didn’t come back early either, so neither had properly eaten at home.

Mrs. Qin went to call Luo Xuping, while Beisitian turned to Luo Xudong and asked, ”Didn’t you take on the task for the exchange conference? Why haven’t I seen you?”

Luo Xudong looked at those beautiful, expressive eyes and rosy lips as if they were summoning him. He quickly pecked her lips before saying nonchalantly, ”You didn’t just not see me, did you? You shouldn’t see any soldier, right?”

Beisitian didn’t expect Luo Xudong to take her by surprise. Her face immediately blushed red, and she saw three clueless little ones watching them, though she knew they understood nothing. Yet, she still felt a bit shy.

Seeing Luo Xudong responding so seriously, Beisitian glared at him with her pretty eyes, trying to pinch his waist, only to find it hard with no excess flesh to grab.

Luo Xudong turned a half-smile at her, ”Is this intentional? Sharing a bed with me daily, how could you not know if there’s flesh on my waist?”

Seeing Beisitian’s charming, albeit playful glare, made his heart ache with affection. He gently touched Beisitian’s face and then placed her hand on his waist.

”If you want to touch, just tell me. I won’t refuse you.” Luo Xudong said, curling his lips.

After saying this, he felt the heat from Beisitian’s soft palm on his lower abdomen, as if it were a spark igniting a blaze.

Seeing the three little light bulbs, Luo Xudong chuckled bitterly. His self-inflicted predicament made him suffer; Beisitian’s mere palm was overwhelming him. What should he do now?

Beisitian lowered her head, revealing a faint smile.

Looking at Beisitian’s dazed big eyes, if not for the cunning in her gaze betraying her, he might have believed it.

Luo Xudong stared into Beisitian’s deep eyes as his own smile faded, ”What are you up to?”

His broad back faced the three little dumplings, who had already started their routine of rolling over and sitting up, minding their own business.

Just as Beisitian tried to escape, she didn’t expect Luo Xudong to grip her hand even tighter.
