I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 653: Chapter 652

Despite Beidewang leaving Bei Jiale in the isolated village, he kept paying attention and listening for news about her. That day, he was already preparing to find a way to leave the village, when he heard the news of Bei Jiale falling off the cliff.

That day Beidewang rushed there like a madman, took a twelve-hour ride, and climbed the mountain without resting. The family that took Bei Jiale in was preparing her funeral.

Beidewang tremulously asked for the details and found out that Bei Jiale indeed developed a curiosity about the outside world and wanted to sneak out to see it. She descended the mountain alone by a rope. At that time she was only twelve, small and lacking strength, so she fell.

Beidewang found it unbelievable. Standing at the spot where Bei Jiale fell, he also climbed down using the rope. This side was indeed much steeper than usual cliff paths. He climbed all the way down, only seeing a small shoe but no blood or remains.

He searched below for an entire day. After descending using the rope, he saw no trace of the child, but instead saw more adult footprints, sparking hope in his heart that Bei Jiale might have been rescued by someone!

Because the villagers eye-witnessed her fall, even though she was not far from the ground at that time, for a twelve-year-old girl, it was still too high, surely causing internal bleeding, or worse, hitting a rock and dying instantly.

They saw Bei Jiale fall and went back up to call for help. But when they went back down, there was no one there. Most believed that she was carried away by wolves, since there was a wolf pack nearby, not large, but close by.

Beidewang didn’t say much to the villagers. He felt some resentment, thinking, ”If they can’t even watch over a child, what can they do?”

After Bei Jiale left the village, Beidewang naturally stopped giving money to the host family in the village. He was planning to leave Kao Village, anyway, and this incident inspired a good idea.

Feign death!

He found some bear hair on the mountain, smeared some blood around, and left a shoe, framing an unseen bear, successfully faking his death to regain freedom.

Bidewang left Du Chunmei seven to eight thousand yuan before he left; this was a considerable amount for the villagers of Kao Village, enough for her to survive with two children.

Beidewang finished speaking, and the three listeners were silent, truly not expecting such a twisting story in Beidewang’s life.

His life was deeply tragic. His eldest son died so miserably, his two daughters shared such fate, and even his wife was driven to suicide by these events. If Beidewang hadn’t had a steadfast mind, he would have been driven insane long ago!

As everyone fell silent, Li Xuejun knocked on the courtyard door. Luo Xudong stood up and went out, and Li Xuejun handed him a note.

”This is a note from Comrade Bei Jiale, she asked me to give it to Mr. Bei, she wouldn’t come in,” Li Xuejun said.

Luo Xudong nodded. As the note was simply folded with no attempt to conceal it, he took a look. After reading it, he was even more silent.

Upon returning, Luo Xudong handed the note to Beidewang.

Seeing the contents of the note, Beidewang burst into tears.

”It’s me who wronged you! It’s me who wronged you!” Beidewang cried uncontrollably.

The note fell to the floor. Beisitian picked it up and read: I’ve sent you to my sister’s side. She will save you, so it’s as if I saved you and repaid the favor of giving birth to me. From now on, we each go our own way, never to owe each other again!

This was meant to sever the father-daughter relationship with Beidewang. In her heart, there was never a father-daughter relationship, only such a bond.

Beisitian sighed, her impression of Bei Jiale changed completely. Luo Xudong also sighed.

A person’s goodness or badness can be seen from their actions. Bei Jiale seemed a bit wicked but deep down, that softness and kindness were always there.

Since the matter about the child hadn’t given Bei Jiale an answer, Beisitian knew she temporarily wouldn’t leave.

Beidewang’s emotions had fluctuated greatly today, Beisitian knew it couldn’t go on, and persuaded him to rest early. Seeing him stop crying, but still sitting there dazed, she temporarily left.

Returning home, Beisitian first checked on her three treasures, her gaze lingered on her two daughters, her brows full of worry.

This matter had to be discussed with Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo, to avoid more oversights.

Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo, upon hearing it, felt as if heaven was playing a joke on them, both couldn’t accept it at first.

Yet what surprised Beisitian was that the next day both were smiling again.

”Start watching them carefully from now on, placing the eldest in the middle, this way we can avoid their contact. Then I’ll inform Gao Ma, before Little Tian’er cures them, no one should be careless,” said Mrs. Qin seriously.

Beisitian gave a wry smile. So they placed their hope on her.

In their eyes, Beisitian had cured the incurable blindness, the incurable partial paralysis, and pulled Ping’an from King Yama’s grip. What’s said to be incurable would eventually be cured by Beisitian!

The trust from Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo was somewhat blind, yet this blind trust inexplicably gave Beisitian a sense of trust, settling her struggling and conflicting mind in peace.

Yes, she is the children’s mother. If she takes a passive stance, their fate is predestined. If she, as their mother, does not try to change their fate, who else would put in full effort to help them change it!

With this decision, Beisitian finally stopped struggling. Now, what she needed to do was think of strategies and find ways.

”Xudong, seems we have work to do,” Beisitian said.

Luo Xudong held her and gently stroked her back, ”It’s good you’re thinking this way. I was really afraid you’d give up.”

Luo Xudong’s character is straightforward, never retreating in the face of difficulty, but this matter is led by Beisitian. Only he charging ahead wouldn’t work, as he’s not the Mystic Doctor. Now that Beisitian is convinced to find ways together, he’s naturally delighted.

Beisitian shared her decision with the elder as she hoped to gain his help. Luo Xudong’s and the elder’s connections didn’t overlap. She sought to leverage their networks, but first, she had to form a plan.

At least find a starting point. Without a correct direction, she was just a headless fly.

While Beisitian still lacked a coherent plan, Wu Yuekai brought news, it was about Beidewang’s direction, giving her a lead.
