I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: It Takes a Villain to Deal with a Villain

Zhang Goushun is actually Zhang Shuncai, Zhang Lianqiao’s elder brother!

Beisitian’s eyes turned slightly cold; it was indeed related to him.

A few days ago, Zhang Shuncai actively greeted her and inquired about Luo Anping’s injuries, which felt strange to her. Someone like Zhang Shuncai, who never acts without interest, wouldn’t care about an unrelated person for no reason. Besides, in his eyes, Luo Anping was just a kid.

”And then?” Mrs. Qin’s forehead veins bulged.

Luo Anping stayed silent, involuntarily glancing at Beisitian.

”Speak!” Mrs. Qin shouted.

Luo Anping shivered and lowered his head, saying, ”He, he tripped me...”

At that moment, he didn’t plan on speaking, but Mrs. Qin’s low shout startled him, and he said it subconsciously.

Since childhood, he knew he was different from other kids. Other children would go home to their elders when bullied; not him. If he complained about being bullied, it would only make them feel worse, so most of the time, he just endured it.

Mrs. Qin was so furious that she trembled all over. If not for Beisitian holding her back, she would have grabbed a knife to confront Zhang Shuncai right there!

By the side of the kang bed, Luo Anguo clenched his fists tightly, his jaw tense, staring at the ground without uttering a word.

Beisitian could see the humiliation in his heart. If he were still well, he would never let this go. But he’s disabled now, so should Mrs. Qin really go fight Zhang Shuncai?

Without a man in the house, life is truly difficult!

”Let’s go to Director Xu to report him!” Mrs. Qin said loudly after calming down a bit.

Beisitian shook her head, ”Without evidence, as long as Zhang Shuncai denies it, Director Xu can’t do anything about him.”

Mrs. Qin’s lips quivered, ”My son became like this, and we’re just supposed to let it go!”

Luo Anping is now essentially ruined. A once good child, now made like this by him. Without discussing anything else, how will he live in the future?

Luo Anguo is disabled, but at least he has descendants to carry on the family line. Yet, Luo Anping is only five years old; with a crippled leg, which girl would marry him in the future!

”Naturally, we can’t just let it go like this.” Beisitian said softly, with a slight coldness at the corners of her mouth.

She looked at the two elderly, repressed with grievance, and said: ”Don’t bring this up to anyone, I’ll find justice for Ping’an.” She turned to Luo Anping, ”You too, don’t mention seeing Zhang Shuncai, or that he was responsible for harming you!”

Luo Anping nodded. Although he didn’t know why, by nature he trusted and relied on Beisitian more than Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo.

Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo had also unconsciously started listening to Beisitian. At a time like this, when hearts are scattered, having someone who can take charge means they won’t lose their composure.

”Little Tian’er, what are you planning?” Mrs. Qin asked after composing herself.

Beisitian had saved Luo Anping as she promised, so naturally, if she said she’d get justice, she would. However, she didn’t know what this child planned—aside from risking her life, she couldn’t think of another way.

Beisitian handed a cup from the cupboard to Mrs. Qin, ”An evildoer needs another evildoer to deal with them.”

Mrs. Qin increasingly couldn’t understand Beisitian, but after thinking about it, she decided to stop asking.

Luo Anping lay on the bed, his face pale and yellow. The newly grown flesh had receded again; if it wasn’t properly replenished this time, it would definitely be detrimental to his vitality!

”Sister, can my leg really recover?” Luo Anping slightly raised his chin and looked at Beisitian, his eyes unblinking for fear of missing any expression on her face.

Although he’s young, the poverty made him mature early. Seeing Luo Anguo and Mrs. Qin’s expressions made him very anxious, afraid he might never walk again.

Beisitian smiled gently, softly patting his head, ”Trust me.”

Luo Anping looked into her gentle yet determined eyes, relaxing his tense nerves; his sister would never lie to him!

Seeing it was getting late, Beisitian was about to start cooking, but then she heard the gate clang and looked out to see Director Xu from the village committee had arrived.

Director Xu had been away at a meeting in the town for the past few days and wasn’t in the village. He was shocked when he heard about Luo Anping’s situation upon returning.

This Luo Er’s family truly seemed misfortunate. Just over three months ago, the young wife barely saved a life, and now someone else fell off a mountain?

Having been an official for many years, Xu Youcai’s senses were more acute than most. He suspected that this incident might be man-made.

He immediately thought of the bully family, the Zhang Family, in the village. If anyone could do such a thing, it would be those scoundrels.

But if it really were them, why did they only act now after so long?

Xu Youcai speculated but without hard evidence, he couldn’t gossip.

He genuinely thought this family had it tough. Little Ping’an was only five, so he spent a bit more money to buy some eggs and small cupcakes to bring over.

He knocked on the door and found it wasn’t latched, so he pushed it open and went in, seeing the young wife standing in the front room preparing to start the fire and cook.

He recalled the time Beisitian stood up to Zhang Shuncai at the gate, leaving a deep impression on him.

”Director Xu,” Beisitian greeted him.

”Ah, it’s Xiao Bei, about to cook?” Xu Youcai said with a smile.

Beisitian nodded. People in the village usually called her Little Tian’er, but many in the town felt such nicknames were unsophisticated, so some called her Xiao Bei, or like Zhou Jiren, called her Miss Bei.

”Director Xu, please sit inside; I’ll pour you some water,” Beisitian said, smiling as she invited him.

Xu Youcai went inside. There wasn’t the usual smoky air; Luo Anguo leaned against the bedding with a vacant gaze, and Mrs. Qin sighed as she leaned to one side. Hearing him enter, she forced herself to stand up.

”Director Xu, you’re here. Why bring things when you come!” Mrs. Qin, feeling somewhat flattered, didn’t know whether to accept or decline.

Her family didn’t have the best reputation in the village. Besides those with whom they’d always had a good relationship, the rest didn’t want to associate with them. Director Xu usually had a cold face, so she was surprised he brought things this time.

”I came to see Little Ping’an,” Xu Youcai said, looking at the drowsy Luo Anping and sighing inwardly.

According to Yang Wulang, this child was considered ruined.

Although Yang Wulang’s skills were average, he had a keen eye. If someone like Luo Anping were sent to a big hospital, there might still be hope. However, with Luo Er’s family situation, they couldn’t afford even the town’s health clinic, let alone a big hospital.

Such a pity for a good child.

The child barely being saved is already a miracle, but with Luo Er’s family, how will they get by in the future!

Xu Youcai worried for them even more than they did.

”Child, how did you fall off the mountain?” Xu Youcai asked.

Xu Youcai just wanted to see what they knew. If there was concrete evidence, great; if not, he couldn’t do anything against the village bullies.

Luo Anping glanced at Beisitian standing at the door and said, ”I fell by myself, accidentally.”
