I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Beisitian Steps In to Save

”Just wrapped it with cloth, this child has lost too much blood, fortunately, his life was saved.” Yang Wulang stood to the side, seeing the expressionless little face of Beisitian, he explained for some unknown reason.

”But even though he’s saved, this child’s leg might be...” Yang Wulang didn’t know how to continue, and now that he was saved, there was yet another hard hurdle ahead.

This family truly suffers too many calamities, already having one paralyzed at home, placing all hopes on this little one, only to find this little one disabled too!

How will this couple live?

”The bleeding hasn’t stopped.”

Just as Yang Wulang was about to sigh, he heard Beisitian beside him say this, and he was stunned, his gaze falling on her lifted hem.

The cloth was already stained with crimson, and the area was continuously expanding. Mrs. Qin had just woken up, and seeing that blood, especially thinking that it came from her own son, she began gasping heavily.

Zhang Qiao Niang saw this, yelled ”Aiyo,” and quickly said, ”Sister-in-law Qin, you must hold on, we still rely on you!”

There was no way Mrs. Qin could be okay with just her two sentences; she felt something blocking her chest, able to exhale but unable to inhale!

Seeing this, Beisitian hurriedly pulled a small embroidered bag from her body, took out a pill, and stuffed it into Mrs. Qin’s mouth.

”Aunt Qiao, please take care of my mother.”

After speaking, Beisitian took off her shoes, climbed onto the kang, pushed the hindering quilt aside, and undid Luo Anping’s clothes.

”What are you doing!” Yang Wulang was startled by her actions and reached out to stop her, ”If you move him like this, he’ll bleed even more!”

Beisitian raised her eyes, pushed his arm away, and said, ”I’m stopping the bleeding for him!”

Yang Wulang met a pair of sharp eyes. He had never seen such eyes before; their steadiness and calmness made him involuntarily shut his mouth.

Is this really the timid little widow from Kao Village?!

Yang Wulang carefully looked at Beisitian, as if he had never known her; in fact, he really wasn’t familiar with her. Before, when he greeted her, she would just lower her head and walk away quickly!

Zhang Qiao Niang also seemed a bit stunned, did Little Tian’er just say to her to take care of Mrs. Qin?

This sentence was spoken so firmly and decisively that she unconsciously felt this was her obligation.

”Can you stop the bleeding?” Yang Wulang still asked.

”I can, my father was a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, and I am too.” Beisitian worried he might stop her again, so she found a reason.

Yang Wulang no longer stopped her. He was already at a loss, so since Beisitian claimed she could stop the bleeding, he would let her try.

He didn’t stop her, and naturally, the others wouldn’t go to stop her either. Luo Anguo’s spirit was half gone, Mrs. Qin was half-dead, and there was no backbone in the family.

”Aunt Ma, could you help me boil some water!” Beisitian looked up at Ma.

Ma was stunned, and Yang Wulang beside her said, ”I just boiled some, you can go fetch it.”

Ma responded, went out to fetch a basin of boiling water, and placed it by the kang. Beisitian soaked the scissors Mrs. Qin used for working in the water to sterilize them, then cut open the wrapped cloth strips.

A ferocious wound lay on Luo Anping’s shriveled stomach, a huge ’centipede’ was lying there, Yang Wulang had already stitched the wound!

”This wound is very deep, the flesh is torn open, exposing the internal organs.” Yang Wulang said, he didn’t mean to scare Beisitian, just afraid she might undo it again.

Of course, Beisitian wouldn’t undo the stitches, but despite the wound being stitched up, quite a bit of blood was still seeping out.

People blocking the door who saw this bloody scene mostly backed out, all feeling sorry for the child.

Yang Wulang watched Beisitian, originally thinking she might faint from fear, but unexpectedly she stayed calm, carefully observing the wound, to his surprise.

Mrs. Qin fainted upon seeing the wound, not to mention her as the mother, even Ma and Zhang Qiao Niang turned pale, deeply frightened—yet a little bride under twenty could be so steady.

Beisitian gently pressed around the wound, causing more blood to ooze out, these weren’t clotted blood!

She reached around the wound pressing on several points, regretting she didn’t have a silver needle; otherwise, the effect would be immediate after a few needles.

Yang Wulang watched Beisitian press, though he hadn’t learned traditional Chinese medicine, he knew that some acupoints were also important in Western medicine, so he could tell Beisitian was pressing the acupoints to stop the bleeding.

Watching her technique, it wasn’t random pressing but followed some rules. Yang Wulang observed intently, not noticing the increasingly lesser blood seeping from the wound.

After pressing for several minutes, the wound finally stopped bleeding.

Now, Luo Anping’s body and the mattress were full of blood, the situation looked miserable.

Mrs. Qin awoke and seeing this, finally burst into tears.

”Aunt Qiao, take my mother out.” Beisitian said.

Zhang Qiao Niang quickly nodded, intending to pull Mrs. Qin out, but Mrs. Qin shook her head, crying, ”I’m not leaving, not leaving, even in death he must die in my arms!”

Zhang Qiao Niang’s nose tingled, and her grip loosened, which family doesn’t have children, whose child becomes like this without heartache!

Beisitian sighed when she saw this. Although her pill had dispersed the congestion in Mrs. Qin’s chest, it also gave her strength to cry.

”Mother, Ping’an won’t die, and I won’t let his leg be wasted!” Beisitian raised her voice, otherwise, it wouldn’t overpower Mrs. Qin’s crying.

Hearing this, Yang Wulang sighed, assuming it was just Beisitian comforting Mrs. Qin.

Mrs. Qin’s tears flowed, hearing Beisitian’s words, she appeared momentarily confused. Over time, Beisitian had evidently become the family’s backbone, moreover, since she entered, her constant calm demeanor indeed reassured many.

”Is what you said true?” Mrs. Qin asked tearfully.

Beisitian nodded, ”Mother, I wouldn’t lie.”

Seeing her expression, Mrs. Qin finally relaxed, allowing Zhang Qiao Niang to pull her to the west room.

After stopping Luo Anping’s bleeding, Beisitian began to clean his body, minimizing the chance of infection, but with such a large wound, Luo Anping still had another hurdle to cross.

”I don’t have good anti-inflammatory drugs. If we could get some good ones, this child might have some hope.” Yang Wulang said.

With such a large wound, there will certainly be some infection. If the fever cannot be reduced, it might not end well. Given Luo Er’s family situation, they’re unlikely to afford treatment at a major hospital. The town clinic isn’t effective, not to mention it’s expensive without results.

Beisitian didn’t want to use Xuan Talisman; with her current spirit, she could manage to make a Xuan Talisman for regulating the body, but fully healing Luo Anping bore significant risk.

This risk was not one Beisitian was willing to bear!

Anti-inflammatory drugs?

Yang Wulang’s words sparked a thought in Beisitian’s mind, reminding her of someone.

If they could tackle it from both sides, the impact this injury brings to Luo Anping might not be as severe.
