I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Dealing with the Awful Mother-in-Law and Daughter-in-Law

”What are you saying!” Qin Hongmei glared and shouted as she lifted the curtain of the east room.

This shout woke up Luo Youcai, who was still sleeping in the west room, and he started crying.

Beisitian wasn’t afraid of her at all, turned around, raised her voice slightly, and said, ”I’m taking Grandma to stay at my house for a few days to nourish her body!”

”What’s there to stay for? Can’t she be nourished here?” Qin Hongmei continued to shout.

Once she took her away, the stuff would definitely not be brought back. This girl was too annoying!

Beisitian, unhurried and unflustered, said, ”Auntie’s nourishment is Auntie’s, my dad’s nourishment is my dad’s.”

Qin Hongmei thought she didn’t understand her meaning, and shouted, ”Why don’t you just bring the stuff over then!”

”That’s not impossible.” Beisitian pondered a bit. Upon hearing this, Qin Hongmei’s expression softened a bit, but then she heard, ”But my dad misses Grandma and asked me to bring her over for a few days. You know my dad has difficulty moving around, he can’t travel back and forth.”

”Why don’t you have Mrs. Qin bring her over!” Qin Hongmei got anxious again upon hearing this.

Beisitian tilted her head and asked, pretending not to understand, ”Why make it so complicated? Why not just bring Grandma over directly?”

This made Qin Hongmei furious. This little slut must be pretending, the shameless thing!

”No way, I don’t agree!” Qin Hongmei began to act unreasonable, she couldn’t let Old Mrs. Luo go over no matter what.

”Why doesn’t Auntie agree?” Beisitian continued to ask.

”Why? Why so many whys!”

”Then why can’t I bring Grandma over?” Beisitian pressed on.

”No means no, we’ve already split the family!” Qin Hongmei shouted.

Beisitian was waiting for this sentence. She smiled, ”That’s right, we’ve split the family, but my dad is her biological son. What’s wrong with honoring his own mother?”

Even if she really wanted to bring Old Mrs. Luo over, she couldn’t let Qin Hongmei tag along to eat and drink!

That’s why she forced her to say the words ’split the family’!

Qin Hongmei’s face turned red and neck stiffened by this rebuke. From start to finish, this girl was neither hurried nor flustered. Even if she wanted to sit on the ground and act shamelessly, there was no excuse.

”Grandma, my dad misses you and asked me to bring you over to nourish your body. This is also thanks to Xudong’s comrades.”

Beisitian went to help Old Mrs. Luo.

Old Mrs. Luo was, of course, willing. Who wouldn’t want to eat something good, especially with her bad teeth, everything was a struggle to eat.

Old Mrs. Luo got out of bed, and Qin Hongmei’s eyes turned red. She rushed forward and shoved Beisitian aside, ”Get out of the way!”

Beisitian was still supporting Old Mrs. Luo, and when Qin Hongmei shoved her, Old Mrs. Luo stumbled and fell face-first onto the bed.

The kang had only a layer of bed sheet and a roll mat on top, and with a cry of pain, Old Mrs. Luo lay on the bed.

Outside, Luo Aiguo had already stopped sweeping the yard several times. He knew that Qin Hongmei surely had her eyes on the food, without considering how the food came about. It was sent by Xudong’s comrades, and every time they asked for it, he lost face!

Therefore, when Beisitian said she wanted to pick someone up, he agreed without a second thought.

Upon hearing Qin Hongmei shouting, the children crying, he got very annoyed and thought several times about going inside, but then decided against it, thinking it would only cause problems later.

But then he heard his mother’s cries of pain, he dropped the broom, rushed inside, and saw Beisitian sitting on the ground, and Old Mrs. Luo lying face down on the bed.

Luo Aiguo hurriedly went to lift Old Mrs. Luo, ”What happened, Mom? Did you hit something?”

Qin Hongmei was a bit scared by this scene, she hadn’t expected Old Mrs. Luo would be involved, although seeing her fall did give her a sense of satisfaction.

Old Mrs. Luo got up covering her nose, her hand was a bit bloody, she actually had a nosebleed. Upon seeing the blood, she started howling, pointing at Qin Hongmei’s nose and cursing.

”You shameless thing, are you trying to kill me? I’ve long known you look down on me. You eat good food behind my back, leaving me, an old woman, hungry. My granddaughter-in-law came over to take me to enjoy life and you’re stopping it, you want me dead! Son, look at your wife, she’s not even human! If I die, then you’ll be happy, oh my heavens...”

Old Mrs. Luo began to cry and wail. Her voice was so loud and full of energy, at this rate, she would have no problem living another seven or eight years!

Seeing this, Luo Aiguo turned and gave Qin Hongmei a big slap. This slap had real strength behind it, making Qin Hongmei see stars and feel dizzy, landing on her butt on the floor.

In the west room, Bai Jinfeng, the wife of Luo Xuqiang, was coaxing the child, not daring to come out. But with this mess, the child was woken up and couldn’t be soothed no matter what, crying continuously, and she feared the trouble would affect her. She hoped her husband, Luo Xuqiang, would hurry back.

This early in the morning, how could buying a jianbing guozi take so long!

Bai Jinfeng was both anxious and scared.

Beisitian got up from the ground and took the handkerchief on the cabinet to wipe Old Mrs. Luo’s nosebleed.

Because Beisitian wanted to take her over to nourish her body, Old Mrs. Luo had a good impression of her. Even when she was very angry, it didn’t affect her feelings towards Beisitian, especially since she was the one coming to wipe her nosebleed.

”Don’t be angry, Uncle, I won’t take Grandma. Grandma, I’ll send your portion to you!” Beisitian looked as if she realized she had made a mistake.

Originally, Old Mrs. Luo’s face darkened upon hearing she wouldn’t be taken over, but when she heard about sending her portion over, her expression slightly improved, though it was still not good.

Sending her portion meant just that one portion. If she went over, she could have several!

It’s all Qin Hongmei, that shameless person! She spoiled her good fortune!

Old Mrs. Luo was very angry. Previously harmonious relations between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were severed over some food.

At least Old Mrs. Luo now resented Qin Hongmei!

Seeing her goal accomplished, Beisitian didn’t linger and left Luo’s house without delay.

From a distance, Mrs. Qin could hear the commotion at Luo’s house, worried that Beisitian might suffer, but soon saw her walking out briskly. Seeing her appearance unchanged, she finally felt relieved.

That day, Mrs. Qin felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction. How many years had it been since she felt so at ease, especially hearing Qin Hongmei’s cries, and Old Mrs. Luo’s scolding, she truly felt delighted!

Beisitian went home, divided some of the eggs and pastries, and packed them for Luo Anping to deliver. No one would give him a hard time, plus, even if Old Mrs. Luo came to her senses and wanted to come over, there was no reason to follow a five-year-old child, how embarrassing would that be!

If these things were brought over by Qin Hongmei, they wouldn’t say anything if Old Mrs. Luo shared them. But after this drama, and since the food was sent by them, clearly stating it’s only Old Mrs. Luo’s portion, Luo Aiguo and his sons would definitely have no face to eat it.

Qin Hongmei is shameless, but Old Mrs. Luo definitely wouldn’t let her eat it!
