Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1547: Chapter 902:

Wen Yu sat with a somber expression for a while, looking at Wen Ke: ”If I had relatives who couldn’t bear to part with me like this, even a short life would be worth it.”

”Sister Xiao Yu...” Wen Ke gently patted her, sighed, and didn’t persuade further. She had heard about Wen Yu’s life story from Old Mrs. Wen, and naturally understood how strong her longing for family affection was.

”It’s okay, these years I’ve already gotten used to it. It’s just that when I see Ye’er being cared for by her aunt like this, I can’t help but feel a bit sad.

However, I believe my mom and dad must love me too. They must have had no choice but to leave me for some reason.”

Wen Ke nodded vigorously: ”It must be like that. There are no parents who don’t love their own child, it’s absolute!”

Wen Yu sighed lightly: ”You can’t really say that, there are also heartless parents, but I believe mine aren’t like that.”

”Yes, there are heartless parents too. Just a few days ago, the newspaper reported a young couple who, because they didn’t work and had no money, actually had children just to sell them to traffickers. Can you say those people even have the right to be called human?”

Wen Ke thought for a moment and then said, ”Sister Xiao Yu, Ye’er and I both like you. In the future, you can often come to our place to play.”

”Sure, as long as you guys don’t get annoyed, I’ll definitely visit often.” Wen Yu also showed a smile on her face, ”Coming to the Wen family this time, even though I was forced by Grandpa, I’m really glad I didn’t resist him. Meeting you guys, I truly feel, having family is really nice!”

”Sister Xiao Yu is here.” Luo Ye came out from the inner room, letting out a long breath and smiling helplessly, ”My mom is getting more and more sentimental, haha...”

”Showing off, this is definitely showing off!” Wen Ke held her forehead, speechless, ”Showing off in front of two kids without a mom, that’s just not fair!”

”You...” Luo Ye lightly poked her with a finger, looking at Wen Yu, ”Sister Xiao Yu, are you comfortable sleeping in the new place?”

”I slept pretty well.” Wen Yu hesitated slightly, and said, ”I had a falling out with Grandpa, formally kicked out of the house, so I’ve come seeking some comfort.”

Wen Ke quickly said, ”Sister Xiao Yu, from now on, Ye’er and I are your real sisters. If anyone dares to bully you, us sisters will stand up for you and won’t stop until we beat them to the point where they can’t find their teeth!”

Luo Ye looked Wen Ke up and down with a teasing smile: ”Hmm, it seems lately the Male Emperor has been calling Sister Ke Ke quite often.”

”Ye’er, you guessed right.” Wen Ke smiled and patted her shoulder, ”I’ve decided to enjoy living well each day, regardless of the future outcome, there’s nothing to regret.”

Love really is a good remedy. In such a short time, Wen Ke returned to her usual cheerfulness. Luo Ye gave her a push: ”Go check if breakfast is ready, and if it’s almost done, please give us a shout.”

”Sigh, is this the role of a sister? Little Ye Ye, you just instruct your sister like this? How can you bear it...” Knowing Luo Ye probably had something to discuss with Wen Yu, Wen Ke obediently got up to leave, but muttered a string of complaints.

Once the door was closed, Luo Ye pulled Wen Yu into the inner room, with a serious expression: ”What’s really happening? Are you in any danger?”

”I did it on purpose.” Wen Yu said calmly, ”If I didn’t have a falling out with them, the things that follow would be hard to manage.”

”Got it.” Luo Ye sighed softly, ”It must be tough for you, I’ll arrange someone to protect you during this time. In any case, being careful doesn’t hurt.”

”Thank you, Ye’er.” Wen Yu forced a smile, ”This time, I bet correctly. After you left last night, I thought about the past again and suddenly felt, maybe my parents are no longer in this world, and the person responsible for it could be Grandpa.

Can you imagine how awful it feels to think of such a possibility? Even a tiger won’t eat its cubs, how could he do such a thing?

Whether the thing is true or not, I couldn’t be so heartless, so all I can do is leave them early and prevent their schemes from succeeding.”

Hearing Wen Yu say this, Luo Ye’s mood was also very heavy. After thinking for a while, she asked: ”Is there any clue about your parents?”

Wen Yu sighed: ”There are clues, but, all the people involved have left, and I don’t know if it’s still possible to restore the truth.

Actually, after all these years, whether the truth gets restored or not doesn’t mean much. If they really have left this world, knowing it would only make me sadder.

Or maybe, leaving things ambiguous like this is also kind of good. It leaves me with a little hope, but I also don’t want their whereabouts to remain forever unclear, sigh..., it’s really such a contradiction.”
