Bear School Astartes

After being flayed and even struck by fierce lightning to the point where its charred bones were visible, the golden lion finally broke the young qilin’s azure horn.

With its blackened large hand tightly clutching the broken horn, a pair of blood-red small eyes were fixed on the horn, which looked like a piece of art despite being broken.

The golden lion seemed to have its very soul absorbed by this segment of the broken horn.

In an unconscious state, it even loosened its grip on the qilin’s head.

This pitch-black beast, as if having waited a long time for this moment, was now about to have its wish fulfilled.

So, it picked up the broken horn, and under Lann’s wide-eyed gaze and the Grand Commander’s eager eyes...

Stuffed the qilin’s azure horn into its mouth!

A ferocious bite with strong jaws, ”crack.”

The crystalline textured broken horn turned into fragments under the golden lion’s bite force and was then swallowed.

Next, in the following moment... Lann finally understood why such a creature was called ”Golden Lion” in ancient texts.

As if suddenly gaining an energy source, the originally pitch-black beast’s body surface began to be entangled with unnatural golden lightning.

At first, it was just faint strands, but then it became more and more!

On its body surface, a layer of golden fur stood upright and swelled as if stimulated by the lightning.

Especially on its powerful, mountainous shoulder muscles, the golden fur seemed to form a pair of small wings.

But these small wings were not funny at all, on the contrary...

They were like waterfalls or thunderbolts crashing down from the sky.

The violent and destructive aura that belonged to the golden lion, always covering an extremely vast area, now seemed to materialize, heavily pressing down on the hearts of every living being!

In folklore, people compared this state of the golden lion to the ”embodiment of the Destruction God,” the ”Golden Rakshasa.”

But in Lann’s eyes...

Although the violent and overwhelming aura unleashed by the golden lion was indeed unbearable, the Demon Hunter still forced his eyes to check the Grand Commander beside him, and then the golden gorilla not far away.

Scanning back and forth several times.

... A quick Super Saiyan transformation, right!?

Grand Commander, are you really human?!

Is this monkey now capable of firing Qi Gong Waves?!

For those who grew up watching ”Dragon Ball” during their childhood, this was just too much of a déjà vu.

And just as Lann was looking at the Grand Commander with a strange gaze, the blond spiky-haired strong man suddenly exclaimed, his originally eager expression tightening abruptly.

”Not good! That qilin is too young!”

In the battlefield below, the golden lion was momentarily immersed in the immense power activated within it by the qilin’s azure horn.

For the golden lion, which enjoyed combat and the thrill of destruction, this power was the reason it was willing to oppose ancient dragons.

And now, it was even stronger!

At this point, if the qilin wanted to escape, it would theoretically face no obstacles.

After all, the golden lion’s covetousness for the qilin was only directed at the horn capable of activating latent power within them.

Moreover, the qilin possessed a unique method for rapid movement.

As recorded, the qilin could displace itself at lightning speed in certain situations, literally ”in a flash of lightning.”

At that speed, if it didn’t want to tangle with the golden lion, it wouldn’t even be able to touch the qilin’s fur.

And now, this young qilin, whose body size hadn’t even reached the standard for its species, battling the golden lion was an unwise decision.

However, the azure horn on its head was not a vital point for the qilin; it could grow back later. If it just admitted defeat and fled now, there would be virtually no loss.

But it was still due to youth.

This qilin, seemingly never having experienced such a blow since its birth, to the point of standing behind the roaring golden lion like a newborn fawn, didn’t know how to control its four hooves.

Flailing awkwardly.

It also wanted to use ”in a flash of lightning” to quickly leave the battlefield.

However, never having been struck to this extent before in its life led to panic, and the loss of its azure horn weakened its control over lightning.

These factors combined, causing the young qilin to crash into a wall after turning into a flash of blue and white lightning, passing by the golden lion...!

With a ”bang.”

The loud sound shook smoke and dust, bringing the golden lion, immersed in its newfound power, back to attention.

Perhaps it was because they were both mammals, but Lann surprisingly felt a kind of ’sneer’ on the golden lion’s face.

The golden lion aimed its head at the young qilin that had crashed into the wall.

Rarely assuming a stable quadraped stance, golden lightning began to appear densely across its powerful, gold-patterned upper body.

Finally, the golden lion opened its mouth!

”WDNMD, it really can fire Qi Gong waves?!”

Lann exclaimed wildly.

The golden glow bursting out of the golden lion’s throat was simply like the might of a Destruction God!

That couldn’t possibly be mere electricity!

After all, no natural lightning was golden, nor would it appear in the form of an energy jet!

The lightning from a qilin was normal lightning.

And just as the golden lion was about to breathe a beam toward the young qilin that crashed into the wall...

”Crackle~”

The crisp sound of nutshell cracking exploded from the side of the golden lion’s face.

The power was insignificant, but the exploding nutshell’s fragments instinctively made the golden lion tilt its head and blink.

As a result, the golden energy jet shot off course.

Aimed obliquely upward at the top of the coral reef mountain.

With a ”boom,” the golden jet directly knocked down a head of the coral mountain!

Coral fragments, shell fossils, terrestrial water grass, dust... fell down with a crash.

However, the golden lion beneath the falling mountain debris didn’t care at all about these things due to its resilient body.

It merely twisted its body, placing its arms on the ground, and looked toward the direction from where the walnut was thrown.

Where there were two hunters.

Lann pursed his lips, glanced at the Grand Commander beside him who maintained a throwing posture, and then sighed.

Golden spiky hair, a stout build, the fighting spirit to even throw nuts at such a powerful foe, plus the ecological behavior of the golden lion...

Under the golden lion’s glare, Lann and the Grand Commander jumped down from the coral one after the other.

The Demon Hunter habitually tightened the fasteners of his armor.

”Grand Commander, let’s not discuss interfering with nature’s ecosystem for now. Let me confirm with you first... This planet’s name shouldn’t be Bejita, should it?”

Lann said complicatedly, pulling out the heavy black ”Turbulent Flow, Destruction” from the Alchemy Pouch.

”No, we haven’t named our world; we just call it the world. Why ask this?”

The Grand Commander replied, staring tensely at the golden lion, which had started scraping the ground with its feet not far away.

The Demon Hunter smirked and ’tsk’ed.

How can I tell you?

Say: I feel like I’ve arrived in the ancient times of the planet Bejita in ”Dragon Ball”? If the golden lion evolves further, its normal form might turn humanoid?

And then call themselves a warrior race—Saiyan?

Ah~ This damn déjà vu.

Lann complained inwardly.

”Besides, I’m not interfering with the natural ecosystem for no reason.”

The Grand Commander now defended his reputation as a hunter.

”Qilin and Golden Lions are rare species! If I hadn’t seen it, I wouldn’t care, but this is a crime scene! We can’t let rare species kill each other!”
