Bear School Astartes

Ultimately, Belengar still got the opportunity to observe his ’former work’.

Initially, he was indeed excited and angry.

But after carefully examining the craftsmanship of this new sword, all that remained was murmuring under his breath; the hostility in his eyes was gone.

A craftsman is always humbled by craftsmanship.

Although after hearing Lann’s brief description, Belengar still insisted on claiming: It’s just that the bald one-eyed blacksmith has better materials at hand! The craftsmanship is just so-so!

Who would have thought that the new world Lann visited would have such outrageous monsters that needed fighting?

If it were me, I’d definitely be better than that bald one-eyed guy!

Belengar said this but later obtained Lann’s permission to tap the edge of [Murky Stream·Destruction] with a small blacksmith’s hammer.

During the process of using the reverberation to sense the sword’s interior, he still appeared extremely cautious and cherishing.

”Let’s make a deal.”

Belengar reluctantly stepped beside Lann.

”That bald one-eyed one said that this sword will grow like the Extinct Dragon, right? How about you let me knock off a bit? For research?”

The craftsman rubbed his palms, looking extremely eager.

”If it’s about integrating biological materials into iron, they aren’t as good as me over there. It’s just that their techniques for keeping organ vitality are impressive.”

Lann had reservations about this statement.

He shrugged and said, ”If it breaks during combat in the future, I can gather a bit for you. But the catch is I haven’t broken it yet, so I don’t know what it needs to chop or how much to ’eat’ to grow back.”

Belengar helplessly nodded: ”Remember this! You’ve got to keep it in mind!”

So the arrangements with Belengar ended here, and the two demon hunters agreed that in a few days, Belengar would lead the way to Ker Morhan.

Belengar still had to arrange for someone to take over the production of Valyrian Steel Ingots at the blacksmith workshop before he could get away.

The Ashen Knight Order’s obsession with demon hunter mutations made Lann feel headache, but ultimately, they could carry out his orders, so it wasn’t a big problem.

Now that he returned to Airetusa, the news should have already been sent back by the spies in the murky water.

If he didn’t quickly get out, these people would likely come over to block the door.

And it would definitely be with friendly smiles, making it difficult for him to decline.

”How have you been feeling these days?”

A few days later, in the secret cave under Airetusa, Lann spoke while looking at the unicorn running over with waves from the sea.

His left hand flickered with a cool white magic glow, using the previously not-so-used [Yakxi Rune] at least three times a day now.

’Seaweed, not as tasty as before.’

With a snort from its big nostrils and some sea-spray, the unicorn shook its head like a horse, its neck and chin mane also fluttering.

The unicorn’s fur seemed to have excellent water resistance.

’Fish too, so small.’

Lann patted the unicorn’s flank, and a swaying sound of food filled its belly.

The demon hunter glanced sideways at the unicorn, while the ancient dragon seemed to inadvertently turn its head.

’So I ate a bit too much.’

The transformed [Yakxi Rune] carried the ancient dragon’s explanation.

”Alright.” Lann chuckled softly and nodded, ”I’ll take it as you trying something new as a newcomer.”

”Let’s get down to business, try the magic equipment prepared for you.”

Lann led the unicorn to the middle of the secret cave, where he had cleared space.

Margaret and Triss were both using levitation to move two boxes, standing by.

Although Margaret was seeing the unicorn for the second time, she was still amazed by the creature’s beautiful and solemn appearance.

Triss, needless to say.

Tishaya, due to her current position, although she could still occasionally return to the academy, had to spend long periods wandering outside, dealing with magical affairs from various kingdoms.

The Talent and Skill Association served as the governing body for wizards, with no shortage of tasks.

The dinner a few days ago was just her rushing over to hold a welcome party for Lann after sensing the tide of chaos magic power, after which she had to return to work.

”What a beautiful beast!”

Triss’s voice carried both mature charm and youthful joy.

”A living unicorn! Was its horn broken by something?”

Since being defeated, the unicorn’s azure horn had regrown halfway, better than when it was almost ’completely broken’ by the golden lion.

When the unicorn stood in the middle, Margaret and Triss waved their hands, and the boxes behind them automatically opened.

Two items flew out from within, approaching the unicorn.

The ancient dragon neighed, its four hooves slightly scattered, showing a bit of nervousness.

Fortunately, everyone present could communicate with its mind, so this bit of nervousness didn’t further stimulate the unicorn’s nerves into aggressive intentions.

First, draped over the unicorn, was a wide, silk-like rune cloth.

This rune cloth was entirely white, with fine golden lines outlining magic power flow paths.

”Originally, I prepared an armor set for you, but your size, skin, muscle, and skeleton defense is estimated to be stronger than regular steel, so I simply worked on this rune cloth and some simple armor plates.”

Margaret said while stroking the unicorn’s pale mane.

The silk-like wide rune cloth settled on the unicorn’s back, its drape enveloping its shape, stopping near its hoof joints.

Next, some armor plate fragments adhered to the rune cloth, fixed with fasteners.

Finally, the unicorn’s distinctive features were mostly covered by the wide robe, leaving only a hole for the azure horn.

The core of this equipment was the magic on the rune cloth, and the magic improved by Margaret fully considered the unicorn’s comfort.

After all, this wasn’t a regular mount but an ancient dragon fighting in collaboration with Lann.

Thus, the unicorn shook its head without feeling discomfort and consequently showed no resistance.

”The magic ensures the cloth won’t slip and shields against lightning impacts, usable even in water.”

Margaret explained to Lann.

”But be careful nonetheless, as the power of ancient dragons sounds intimidating enough just from your description. Magic, no matter how perfected, has an endurance limit.”

”Its temperament is pretty mild.” Lann rubbed his chin, pondering, ”It shouldn’t unleash excessive lightning.”

”Besides, every time I return, I’ll ask you for maintenance.”

”Yes, maintenance.” The female warlock swept her enticing eyes with a meaningful smile, scanning Lann from top to bottom.

”I’ll certainly ’repair’ your issues properly.”

Margaret turned around, and the items from Triss’s box floated over.

They were a rustic brass ring and a warhorse leg band.

The function was: Anytime Lann rubbed the ring, the unicorn wearing the leg band could sense Lann’s location and rush over.

It’s one of the commonly available magic gadgets, owned by nobles and wealthy merchants for their fine horses.

Under Triss’s expertise, it became exceptional, with enhanced magical effects.

It’s worth noting that the standard set of such magic equipment was a ’bracelet and rein,’ not ’ring and leg band.’

The ’leg band’ was understandable since the unicorn wasn’t an ordinary horse, and Lann wouldn’t use reins to control it, nor would the unicorn accept such items.

Lann and the unicorn maintained a friendship.

However, ’ring’...

With Lann’s ’this might be bad’ expression, Triss slipped the brass ring onto his finger.

A snicker from Margaret’s direction echoed.
