”You want to find the Kirin?!”

The ancient dragon seems to have a strong sensitivity to the energy of invasive species.

In the past, the Extinct Dragon was able to find Lann from afar, despite being a brute that focused all its abilities on physical strength.

And in a true ancient dragon like the Kirin, which can directly communicate with the natural environment, the sensory ability can only be greater, not lesser.

It might actually be able to sense the Thief Adventurer Group in the Valley of Miasma directly from the Land Coral Plateau.

The Grand Commander suddenly realized this and then attempted to persuade.

”Hold on, listen to me first. Although the Kirin was quite friendly to us last time, and it’s rumored to be generally gentle in nature, you can’t disregard the fact that it’s an ancient dragon!”

”Last time, we had to deal with that golden lion together, and the Kirin was also bullied by the golden lion, united by a common enemy. It’s different now.”

”Let me tell you in advance, in the sightings of Kirin in the Old Continent, it’s not unheard of for it to have flattened an entire town with a thunderstorm in passing.”

”After all, this is an ancient dragon! A living natural disaster. Do you know how many people die each year from an ancient dragon passing by inadvertently?”

The Grand Commander’s tone seemed to be about dispelling Lann’s favorable first impression of the Kirin.

Just like a parent telling a child that ’pandas are cute, but still wild beasts.’

But Lann appeared very determined.

”Don’t worry.” Lann didn’t even turn his head, giving an ’OK’ hand gesture to the Grand Commander behind him.

”I’ve learned some new skills these past few days, I’m steady!”

As he got closer to the encircling thunderclouds, the numbing feeling from being in a strong electric field struck again.

The blue thunder above occasionally flashed across the dark clouds, bringing a streak of light.

And under such an obvious sign, the Demon Hunter’s extraordinary senses easily found the traces of the Kirin.

Following the trail of the Kirin, that unique ’clop clop’ of hooves was also heard coming from the coral reef.

Lann and the Grand Commander exchanged a glance, using both hands and feet to climb to the top of the coral reef, and once again saw this noble and beautiful steed.

The Kirin continued to stroll leisurely, with tiny blue electric currents occasionally flickering over its skin.

The white mane and tail fluffed up and expanded under the current, appearing majestic and dignified.

The horn on the Kirin’s head seemed to be a very precious organ, thus even with the life force of an ancient dragon, the growth was not apparent a few days after being broken.

However, presently, the Kirin still held a big bunch of terrestrial seaweed in its mouth, enjoying, chewing it absent-mindedly.

And it seemed this wise ancient dragon still remembered the battle with the golden lion alongside Lann.

Seeing Lann climbing up from the bottom, it merely turned its front toward the hunters slightly, rather than making more serious aggressive reactions.

The Grand Commander perceived that his relationship with the Kirin was not as familiar as Lann’s, so he stood cautiously at the edge of the highland, watching Lann approach the Kirin.

As he himself said, although the Kirin had a good reputation, in this world overrun by monsters, there were still Kirins that could kill an entire town’s population with a thunderstorm.

Ancient dragons possess excessive power, and intelligence higher than the human average.

This makes them more emotional during mood swings, and more destructive.

However, Lann, who had learned a new variant of the Magic Seal, appeared much more forthright.

Being able to communicate means that misunderstandings can be eliminated.

This is very important in communication.

”Hey, buddy. Haven’t seen you for two days, right?”

As Lann raised his hands, showing he had no threat, he moved closer to the Kirin.

Not taking out steel weapons was equivalent to sheathing one’s fangs voluntarily.

With the Kirin’s intelligence, it could understand the goodwill of this action.

Thus, the head that had been lowered slightly as Lann approached was now raised.

Those eyes, like red crystals, quietly watched the Demon Hunter.

Lann pinched a Magic Seal with his left hand and released chaos magic power in the newly learned method.

Thus, a familiar cold white magical glow appeared at the fingertips of the Demon Hunter, recognizable to the Kirin.

Lann reached forward tentatively with his finger.

”Once more? How about a chat?”

The Kirin tilted its head, and the terrestrial seaweed in its mouth was chewed twice more as it relaxed its mood again.

It’s as if taking advantage of the crisp ’crunch crunch’ chewing sound, the Kirin used its brain to recall the previous communication with the Demon Hunter.

Then the Kirin stretched its head forward too, touching the magical glow at Lann’s fingertips.

Suddenly, a feeling of connection was transmitted from the brains of the Kirin and Lann.

Connecting with the thoughts of the Kirin gave Lann a strange sense of chaos.

Because even though the Kirin had intelligence above the human average, it lacked knowledge.

What it conveyed was mostly emotions, feelings, and such vague things, not clear and explicit words or sentences.

But even if it’s indistinct, imprecise emotions and feelings, it’s enough for Lann to establish a communication channel with the Kirin.

After all, in terms of emotional control and perception, he had a natural talent since implanting the gene seed.

”You should be able to feel this kind of thing, right?”

Lann’s finger was in front of the Kirin, emitting unadorned chaos magic power.

The moment this eroding and mutative energy appeared, the Kirin snorted white vapor from its moist nostrils.

From the link formed by the Magic Seal, there was a sense of ’displeasure, take it away.’

The Kirin’s hooves began to scrape the ground restlessly due to this sensation, making a rough scratching sound against the coral reef surface.

This movement made the Grand Commander standing aside hold his breath in tension.

But fortunately, the variant [Yakxi Rune]clearly conveyed Lann’s intention to the Kirin.

No misunderstandings, no ambiguity.

”This thing indeed isn’t good, I’m here to deal with it. But I need your help to find the root and the key.”

Lann seriously looked into the Kirin’s ruby-like eyes.

”You can sense where this thing is, right?”

The Kirin made a low whinnying sound and snorted.

Lann’s hand caressed its face, feeling the dense scales and skin texture under the leather glove.

The technique learned from calming horses also calmed the Kirin.

”You can feel it, but you’re too lazy to care?”

Lann stood speechless watching the Kirin start grinding the terrestrial seaweed in its mouth again with its molars.

It seems that although the ancient dragon can sense the fluctuation of Chaos Magic Power, there is a notable difference in the level of ’sense of responsibility’.

The Extinct Dragon pursued doggedly from miles away; while the Kirin, indifferent to what’s beneath its feet.

As long as it doesn’t affect my seaweed eating, let it be however it wants.

The Demon Hunter curled his lips: ”Then you are too optimistic. This thing has mutative properties, and the creature controlling it is constantly expanding its territory. Once the chaos magic power has infected this area, let’s see how you manage to eat the mutated seaweed?”
