Bear School Astartes

”Sir, we’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

After a few deep breaths, Lincoln seemed to have barely calmed his emotions.

He, only half-grown, stood among the fully mature Sintra People, half a head shorter than the average height.

But being a scribe initially led by Hacksaw, and later by Lann as a lower-level commander.

He gained prestige in the army through his qualifications and skills.

Thus, he merely waved his hand, and everyone streamed out neatly from the camp behind him with a ’swish’ sound, stepping aside to make way for Lann.

Lann walked calmly forward, meeting the eyes of these men who once broke through military formations under his command.

Their eyes still burned with fire, steadfast, dedicated, explosive...

Lann suddenly realized something.

These men had not slackened in the time he was away, neither physically nor mentally.

They forged their bodies with demands near terrifying to ordinary people, then actively engaged in every innovation and decision to strengthen the Knight Order with rare autonomy.

This was a group of soldiers transcending their era; such combat spirit could no longer label them as ’feudal-era soldiers.’

Even in modern armies, this was a rare morale.

”You should rest a bit; the stable situation will continue for quite some time.”

Lann spoke softly to Lincoln, who was following behind him.

With the velvet ball on Lann’s shoulder, initially timid in this scene, the knights’ warrior aura soon made the kitten, who also considered itself a warrior, visibly excited.

It stood upright on Lann’s shoulder, looking around at these outstanding warriors.

The camp consisted of tents supported by tarpaulins.

These tarpaulins were military-grade supplies, coated thickly with tree gum and pine oil, waterproof and sturdy.

As long as nails secured the corners and poles propped it up inside, it could even serve as housing.

In the tent Lincoln led Lann into, there was even a bookshelf filled with books, accounts, and notes.

”These are the accounts of aid and supplies received by the Knight Order in the past months; some from Temeria, others from Airetusa, and other northern countries.”

Lincoln stood at attention behind Lann, reporting with his arms behind his back.

”We haven’t initiated most of them, awaiting your judgment.”

Lann casually pulled out a thick book, a diary style very much in Lincoln’s style, seemingly fond of this solid, hefty feel.

The accounts were written clearly and crisply, without any ambiguity.

Mentos synchronized the organization in Lann’s mind, and after flipping through it, everything was arranged in his mind in an orderly manner.

”Accept Temeria’s offerings, but remember the return gift later. Use Airetusa’s freely; nothing to concede. Return the rest, as I don’t want to get entangled with other troublesome folks.”

Lincoln bowed slightly, just as he would in wartime, responding to his lord’s orders.

”Understood, the acknowledgment letter will be sent out in the afternoon, along with the bank account.”

Having a competent subordinate makes handling affairs even enjoyable.

Though Lann had confidence in his organizational skills, even able to temporarily rally unacquainted people.

But Lincoln had been honing with him for a long time, through several major battles. This had created a rapport between them.

In less than twenty minutes, Lann had reconnected with and regained control of his Knight Order.

Nothing that happened in these months had weakened their connection one bit.

The efficiency even left Belengar, a layman in military affairs, inadvertently agape on the sidelines.

Though an outsider, he somewhat knew the effort needed to command an army.

But between Lann and the Embers Knight Order, this process was extraordinarily efficient beyond reason.

The desk and chairs in the tent seemed specially crafted for Lann’s physique.

Lann sat behind the desk, starting to sort out the accumulated management files.

After all, the Embers Knight Order was no longer a small guerilla unit within the Sintra borders, merely maintaining its existence would be satisfactory.

Now recognized by various countries, with even a castle station, merely temporarily unoccupied, it was a high-grade Knight Order.

Though titled ’Sintra Expeditionary Order,’ the support and treatment Temeria offered the Ashen Knight Order were unrivaled by most domestic Knight Orders.

Managing this Order was like overseeing a large company with private assets and armed forces.

There was naturally no shortage of documents.

Standing at attention with hands behind at the door, Lincoln hesitantly glanced at the armored kitten on his lord’s back.

After pursing his lips thoughtfully, he turned and instructed softly outside.

Soon, a small stool was tentatively placed beside Lann’s large chair by Lincoln.

The Three-Floral Kitten looked down at the small stool, then at Lann processing documents, and slowly climbed down.

The large chair, small stool, big person, and small cat created a stark contrast that was indeed eye-catching.

”Thank you, hello meow! I’m Velvet Ball, Lann’s accompanying cat!”

Velvet Ball looked up to introduce itself to Lincoln, who brought him the chair.

”You’re all excellent warriors meow! But I’m great too meow!”

Lincoln was slightly stunned hearing the cat speak, then quickly returned to his composed demeanor.

”Good day, Sir Velvet Ball. I am the Lord’s lower-level commander, Lincoln.”

”Meow... You don’t have to be so formal meow?”

Along with Mentos’ computational capacity and the administrative skills gained from ”Memory Deep Dive.”

Lann processed these ’very simple’ documents at lightning speed.

Stacks of documents thinned at a pace that made one’s scalp tingle.

Meanwhile, Lann multitasked.

”Lincoln, prepare a ring imprint for me. Many matters don’t need my decision, you can directly resolve them with the imprint. Combat power is vital, but I believe your potential shouldn’t be confined to combat alone.”

”As you command, sir.”

”And also...”

After issuing one instruction, Lann deliberately paused, ensuring through the Son of the Emperor’s emotion sensing that Lincoln was fully focused, then continued.

”Currently, due to my performance, various countries seem interested in re-exploring the mutation knowledge of Demon Hunters. This will certainly increase the surgery victims. I intend to persuade the Demon Hunter Schools to seal off this knowledge.”

”But I hear from Belengar, you seem to have issues here.”

After processing the last file, Lann crossed his hands on the desk, quietly observing his lieutenant.

”Tell me, what do you think?”
