Bear School Astartes

After handling personal financial matters, Lann proceeded to the laboratory at the academy.

Compared to money, the things here made him feel more at ease and valued.

The crystal cultivation project’s laboratory was as usual.

The equipment had undergone several upgrades due to theoretical breakthroughs, and the main devices like the rune cloth and crystal disk now had more complex and densely packed rune carvings.

Overall, it looked more sophisticated.

However, the previously well-organized desk, arranged by Tishaya for processing data and organizing experimental results,

had gradually become messier after she left the academy.

In fact, in a place like a laboratory where work is tedious, it would be unusual if it wasn’t messy. The previous tidiness was entirely thanks to Tishaya’s obsession.

After Lann arrived at the laboratory, Philixia Koli was sitting behind the desk, holding a clipboard and observing the only operational device in the lab.

She occasionally used her Chaos Magic Power to charge up the device.

As an odd-job intern in this experimental project, she automatically followed Lann’s academic path after Tishaya went to serve at the Talent and Skill Association.

She managed to combine initiative with ambition.

”How’s the cultivation progress?”

As soon as Lann entered, Philixia stood up and followed his steps to the equipment.

The Chaos Magic Power was being converted into azure light by the rune cloth and crystal disk, nurturing an organ never seen in any natural life form’s body.

It was a small organ, appearing like an irregularly shaped leaf formed by intertwined neural plexuses and secretory glands.

The ”Holy Chant Gland,” a part of the Primaris Space Marine’s surgical procedure.

This super organ would be placed on the right side of the recipient’s brain and connected to the corpus callosum in the brain’s core region.

This leaf-shaped organ could secrete hormones to enhance human growth capabilities and bolster other bodily systems, particularly strengthening bones and muscles.

This is also a major reason why Primaris Space Marines are stronger than ordinary Interstellar Warriors.

Lann learned about this super organ’s knowledge from the memories of the Son of the Emperor’s Pharmacist, personally trained by Belisarius Kao.

At that time, the Pharmacist, who inherited the Emperor’s Child gene seed—Neville, had already successfully performed ascension surgeries for many humans.

Turning mortals into Primaris Space Marines.

But even such a person took over fifteen years to understand the construction of the ”Holy Chant Gland.”

Neville felt that it was the God of All Machines’ calling that allowed Belisarius Kao to design such a perfect and pure super organ.

This also led to his admiration for Belisarius Kao.

However, when Lann initially encountered this organ, he reserved feelings similar to Neville’s impression.

He thought the super organ’s design was nothing less than a perfect artwork, and any modification would be superfluous.

But as Lann detached himself from the thought inertia brought by ”Memory Diving” and reexamined the knowledge he had acquired with a collator’s mindset,

he vaguely felt that... the ”Holy Chant Gland” seemed like an incomplete product born out of compromise.

This feeling came out of nowhere, lacking deep knowledge as a theoretical basis, seemingly arising from the synergy of his transcendent talent and ”Spiritual Vision,” generating insight and judgment.

’The ”Holy Chant Gland” shouldn’t be just the right brain; it’s imperfect and disharmonious.’

This was the fact that Lann’s intuition told him.

Meanwhile, this also made Lann vaguely feel that he was somehow different now... from those Interstellar Warriors.

However, regardless of the ’feeling,’ Lann currently lacked the knowledge accumulation to complete the ”Holy Chant Gland.”

So, he just followed a solid approach, modeling the super organ according to Neville’s memory.

”I’ve never seen such a time-consuming cultivation process.”

While handing over her experiment record board to Lann for inspection, Philixia exclaimed in amazement.

One major characteristic of crystal cultivation technology contradicts common knowledge: Cultivation speed is not related to the organ’s sophistication but only to its volume and mass.

Magic follows a pre-set process, and the complex structures within the organ are something experimenters should have tackled and clarified before starting the experiment.

Magic does not care about the purpose of a muscle or the significance of a bone seam; experimenters input parameters, and magic injects magic power where substance should be generated, without engaging in calculation or analysis processes.

However, the cultivation process of the ”Holy Chant Gland” surpassed Philixia’s understanding of crystal cultivation technology.

”This leaf-shaped organ’s total volume, when compressed, is smaller than a grape, yet it’s only now entering the final stage!”

Philixia was perplexed and instinctively turned her puzzled gaze to the project leader.

Lann’s eyes shifted back and forth between Philixia’s record board and the experimental equipment, matching up features.

”In the end, crystal cultivation uses magic power to catalyze the regeneration of flesh. Volume and mass are the basic indicators of flesh regeneration status.”

The Demon Hunter quickly browsed through Philixia’s record board and then set it aside. With Mentos’s computational power, he quickly arrived at a reasonable hypothesis.

”And to nurture sufficient volume and mass requires energy. This time, it took almost a day and a half to cultivate an organ the size of a grape...”

”I think the structure of this organ itself might be designed to store energy, hence it’s more laborious to nurture compared to a regular organ of the same mass.”

”Are you saying...” Philixia’s eyes gradually widened, ”that you discovered a high-energy organ structure that can exceptionally store energy?”

Lann shrugged: ”Who’s to say in experiments? Just a hypothesis.”

Philixia didn’t really know what was being cultivated; she just watched as Lann input commands on the magic control panel, and then the magic operation began.

Afterwards, Lann called her over to monitor the experimental process.

The azure light, converted by the magic array on the experimental equipment, began to dim.

This signified the conclusion of this organ cultivation.

”Help me pack this into a sample bottle, please.”

Philixia nodded and began using the Floating Spell.

She opened the experimental device and packed the leaf-shaped organ into a sample bottle containing tissue preservation liquid.

”Can I document this discovery in my experimental records?”

Philixia looked at Lann with a touch of hope and asked.

She was already accumulating experience for her career as a Female Warlock.

Just being involved in the crystal cultivation project made her quite competitive compared to her peers, and she clearly wanted to push further.

Lann didn’t dislike her ambition.

”No problem; it’s just a hypothesis, and you did help me. It’s what you deserve.”
